I Dr. A[redacted] appreciate that Revdex.com doesn't judgment and recognizes that there is two sides to every dispute. As a professional dentist for more than 20 years, this is the only dispute I had in my whole career. Here is our side. The patient came to our office and was in pain. She needs dental...

treatment, we took x-rays, clinical exam and had the diagnosis done for teeth and a treatment plans with options were introduced to her. I spent more than 30 minutes explaining all options to her. And the patient very clearly wanted dental implants. She said will do them but only if we gave her a discount and reasonable price. Then we gave her option with the cost and gave her a huge discount as she requested. I told her that because she is going to do the whole treatment and project I was giving her the discount. We started the treatment, and as courtesy we started the treatment without a down payment. Then after treatment was started, she changed her mind. And simply in last visit I told her I could not give her that kind of discount and apply it in every single treatment is she is not willing to complete the treatment plan we both agreed on. And here are some details:Agreed treatment plan was a total of $7,350Treatment completed was a total of $2,850Amount PAID:1/25/2016 -$5003/28/2016-$2006/27/2016-$1,100A statement was sent to her on June 2, 2016 by my front desk because no payment was made for months. Patient was going to be sent to collections, but as her dentist I decided to call her and make her an appointment before any action was taken.January 1, 2016- Estella was a walk-in patient and she needed help to fix her mouth and instead of taking advantage of the situation I helped out the patient by giving her a enormous discount on her complete implant treatment; total came out to $7,350 with discount included. An option of a partial denture was presented to patient as the original price but patient and I agreed that implants would be best solution. That's why a huge discount was given to Estella.January 11, 2016- Treatment was started (Impressions for Partial Denture). Patient was not pressured to make a payment. (Original cost $1600) Impressions where taken because I did not want to have the patient walking around for a couple months with no teeth. As a kind gesture I offered the patient $550 for Partial Denture since it was only going to be used temporary. That action was taken because we both agreed that implants would be the next step.January 14, 2016- Treatment was continued (Extractions for five teeth). Patient was not pressured to make a payment. (Original cost $250 for each extraction) Patient was okay with treatment received.January 25, 2016- Patient came for a post op. Healing process was normal. Asked pt to give some kind of payment patient paid only $500 of treatment that is valued at $2,850.March 28, 2016- Patient came in for a follow up. Patient said she did not want to complete the treatment plan for the implants right now. Patient was asked to pay towards her balance was showing $1,300 due to the discount given to her because of the agreed treatment plan that included the implants a total of $7,350. She only paid $200; she said she would come back in couple of weeks to make another payment. I was okay giving her time to come back with a payment. I told my staff not to pressure her to let her think her options.June 2, 2016- My front desk, sent patient a statement of $1,100. Account was not adjusted because I did not give an okay. The reason was I did not want to adjust her account until I had enough time to talk to patient and clarify that her account was going to be adjusted because the treatment plan agreed to is not going to be continue as planned.June 27, 2016- Patient had an appointment because was having pain upper right and lower right. Treatment plan was given to patient and was made clear that her account was going to be change because she was only charged for $550 and the lab tech cost about $550. Patient was given that amount was to help her out while she had implants done. I did not try to take advantage of her; I was professional and very understanding of the situation.Treatment Completed: $2850Amount Paid: $1800Account Balance: $1050No fraud was taken action. Patient was just upset that I changed the price to the original amount on the partial denture after she changed her mind on the agreed treatment plan. Please if you have questions contact us at ###-###-####.As a professional dentist, I carry my name carefully for many years. I decided to discharge the balance and I would forward the statement to the patient with $0 balance. And I keep looking forward to give my best to every single patient.Dr. A[redacted]
