Review: I contacted All City Appliance and told them my air conditioner was blowing hot air. I was told over the phone that it could be repaired and that a service technician would be sent. The technicians (two) saw the air conditioner and knew instantly that the compresser wasn't starting and that it would cost more to repair it than fix it. The cost of them walking into my home for a minute: $99, which includes tax. When I made a phone call to the office to complain, the payment was reduced to $89, still too much. Also, rather than making payment to All City Appliance, I was told my check had to be endorsed to "Washington." When I inquired about that, I was told they do business under different names. I also thought I was phoning a neighborhood business, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I really feel I was misled and should have been told over the phone that the cost of the repair would exceed the cost of a new product. I should not have been charged such an enormous amount of money.Desired Settlement: Any local, reputable business would have walked into my home, stated the air conditioner couldn't be repaired, and then said, "Call us next time, as we repair other products." It is ridiculous to charge $89 for a look at an appliance that literally took seconds. This is not the way to do business. I should be refunded.
