All City Investigations & Forensic Service, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I met [redacted]i at my lawyers office, he is a private investigator. He asked me for a retainer of $500, which I gave him. I notified him that I did not need his services because, I had hired another lawyer. He was not happy. He hadn't done anything in the case except to meet with me at his request, because as he quoted, I like to see the people in person." I have since interviewed several lawyers, who informed me that there was no need for the lawyer to bring the investigator in so early in the case. So here I am out of $500, because he refuses to give me a refund, and claims that he took pictures, and had meetings with me at his request, that nothing came out of them. I also provided [redacted], pictures of the locations. It wasn't until I informed him that I no longer needed his services, that he claims he took pictures and also and had them developed three weeks later. He now is giving me an itemized list of what he claims he did, that I was unaware of. He never communicated to me on what, when he was doing the things he did. I was after all his client. I have several communications that I had via email with him that have left me dumbfounded. In the meantime, he did not do anything because he claimed he had to wait for the attorney to move forward, which never happened, until I told him I no longer needed his services.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund, as I now have to hire another investigator to do all the things that [redacted] was hired to do, and did not do until after I informed him that nothing was accomplished by him or the lawyer.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

I met with client [redacted] in attorney [redacted]'s office.

[redacted] stated in her complaint that "I like to see people in person". This statement is totallyfalse. She stated "I will have to come to your office so I can bring you a check and bring photographs of my son. ".

On 6/**/13 [redacted] came to my office she then gave me a retainer check for $500.00.

At this time we spent more than one (I) hour discussing her sons case. She stated "I will have to come back with my sons photograph".

[redacted] returned another day with a photograph of her son along with another male subject.

I showed her photographs of other subjects, and asked her to point out any that would resemble her son. The purpose of this photo array is to see if a victim/witness could pick out the correct

perpetrator (approximately one hour).

[redacted] stated in her complaint "I also provided [redacted] photos of the locations".

They were photocopies taken from Mapquest. I advised [redacted] that they were copies which are not clear and that photographs had to be taken. I told [redacted] if she wanted to see me over

the [redacted] of July weekend that I would be available, she stated "I will be moving into a new residence and would be too busy. She also had her son speak to me from Rikers Island.

On June **, 2013 I proceeded to take pictures of the locations in question and had them developed on July *, 2013. [redacted] stated "why did it take so long to develop these photos". There is no set time to develop photographs. The photographs were taken four (4) days after receiving check

On July **, 2013 I received the first e-mail (see attached).

[redacted] was constantly complaining that her attorney [redacted] was doing nothing /or her sons case and neither was I She stated that she wanted a refund for her $500.00 and that she was firing [redacted] as her attorney. I explained and [redacted] explained that we were waiting for the indictment, voluntary disclosure and police reports (see 8/**/13 e-mail).

In her e-mail [redacted] stated "not until I told you I had retained another lawyer, you informed me that you took pictures". Again, pictures were taken June **, 2013. I questioned when did she retain another lawyer.

Take note: Customers Statement of the Problem:

"I met [redacted] at my lawyers office, he is a private investigator. He asked me for a retainer of $500.00 which I gave him. I notified him that I did not need his services because I hired another lawyer - he was not happy". This statement is not accurate. Why would [redacted] give me a $500.00 retainer, then say she did not need my services? It was not until some time in August when she terminated the services of [redacted] as her attorney. That is when she asked

for a refund.

I am 76years of age and been a licensed private investigator /or over 40 years and never had a single complaint against me.

In closing, [redacted] will corroborate thus report. I am prepared to take the necessary action to protect my name.
