Review: We gave him a refundable deposit to build a chicken coop. After changing our mind, he has made excuses and not paid us back our refund after a year.

We met with the owner, [redacted] and made plans to build a coop. The weather was cold, so the plans to build were still being worked out. Mr. [redacted] required that we give him a $500 deposit in order to move forward, but he assured us it was refundable. After much thought, my wife and I decided to not build a coop at this time. We informed Mr. [redacted] and asked for a refund. We were told that he had a cash crunch but would refund the money shortly. I regularly sent emails and made calls requesting our money but the responses were only more excuses. He told us that when the warm weather of Spring/Summer came that he'd be able to pay us back. Well, eventually, he stopped replying and answering our calls. Now, he has basically avoided us for nearly A WHOLE YEAR! I wouldn't trust this contractor if I were you. If he doesn't wish to fulfill his agreement or complete your job, he will just forget about and ignore you! Now, his telephone number has been changed.Desired Settlement: $500 he took as a refundable deposit in the autumn of 2012.

Review: Failure to build and deliver coop nearly 3 months after order and placing 50% down.

We placed an order with "All Cooped Up" on April 22, 2013 for a chicken coop+run (4x12 footprint) and as required by the company we payed half down - which was 565$

We were initially told 4-5 weeks as there were numerous people in front of us and that that was the busy time of the year, which was totally reasonable and acceptable.

At 5 weeks my wife called to see how progress was coming. The chickens that we had purchased were becoming too large to contain inside our house. She was told that their help had quit and that it had put them behind.

I called early second week of June to once again check progress. I was told that there were 3-4 orders in front of us, but that we would have it soon. "A week, week and half tops" was the exact wording given to me.

A week and half later I called again. We were told that we were next in line and that it would be a few more days.

On Friday, June 21, 2013 my wife called again. We were once again assured that we were next, and that we could expect the coop by Monday or Tuesday (June 24 or June 25).

My wife called again June 24. We were told that they were finishing up a red coop and that we were next and that it would be a couple more days

I called on June 26 and was told that they were picking up the paint and getting ready to start. I was told it would be delivered on the 28th or 29th.

I called again on July 1 to be told that the main builder had suffered an arm injury while working on a quail house (so much for us being next). I was told July 3

On July 3, I called again, and was text back that they would "call us when it's finished". Two other attempts to reach them resulted in voice mail with no return call. That evening I sent them a message through the Revdex.com outlining all this information and demanding that they finish within a week or provide us refund. We asked that they provide some proof that they had actually started or even picked up the paint. We were told:

"We have your materials all painted and ready to cut out i'm having to move a little slower with the stitches so as not to rip them out. I guarantee you will have your coop by week end . I truly apologize for the lateness of the delivery. Please bare with me as I try to get this under control, I'm trying to hire someone to help."

No picture of the coop or supplies (but he did provide a picture of his gashed arm).

On Monday (July 8) I sent an additional request for a picture of the progress on the coop. No response.

On Tuesday (July 9) made an additional request for progress. We we're told to be patient that it would be another day or two. Again no picture.

We had no choice but to purchase another coop from another company today.

Every single conversation we had with this company, we had to initiate. We were not informed of any of the delays (I count 8). Many calls were not returned requiring us to try to contact both partners.

Desired Settlement: At this point, we no longer need a coop from this company. Considering their inability or unwillingness to provide any evidence that they had even started, the logical conclusion is that they haven't started or the amount of work so far is insignificant.

We are asking for a full refund. The complaint will be resolved when this takes place.

We purchased a coop on May 25, 2012. They promised a 3-4 week delivery, it's now Sept 4th. No coop and they said the money is gone, so no refund.
We purchased the Country Fun coop online and paid through pay-pal on May 25, 2012. We paid $635.76. That is half their usual price, but because that was the price online, and they messed up, they were willing to honor the half price amount. We paid through paypal. They told us it would be delivered in 3-4 weeks. I called to be sure we would be around when they delivered and spoke with [redacted] who told me that they needed 2 more weeks. Then another 2 weeks, then another. When I started to get frustrated they promised 1 more week, then this Friday, then Sunday, then Wednesday... Still no coop. August 13, 2012 I asked for a refund, but was told by [redacted] that they were having financial trouble and they couldn't get me a refund, but the coop would be delivered in 2 days - no coop, no phone call. I talked to [redacted] again August 27, 2012 and he mentioned that they had a display for the state fair and my coop would be done first. Another delivery promised for Friday August 31st. Saturday Sept 1st [redacted] called verifying paint color and a promise to deliver Sunday Sept 2nd. No coop, no phone call. Sunday Sept 2nd, [redacted] sent an email stating that they couldn't finish mine because they needed to get the display ready for the state fair but mine would be delivered Wednesday Sept 5th. I've tried to call, text and email to see when they will be coming and I've heard nothing. If they have the ability and the money to get a display ready for the state fair, that means they have the money to refund or better yet, a coop to deliver. I've got 10 laying hens in my garage make-shift coop. It's not healthy for the birds or the family. My husband would build a coop for us, but he was hit by a car in June while he was riding his bicycle home from work. He is recovering from bruises and broken ribs. I need the money to buy another coop, or I need these guys to deliver what they promised.
