All Day Lawn & Landscaping Reviews (1)

poor business practice.I paid All Day Lawn in full for a (1) year service for (5) treatments upfront for work to be done. The price was negotiated and agreed upon before any work was done. They honored the year contract and I was pleased with the work completed. I offered to extend the contract for the next year but they wouldn't agree to the same deal as they said it was a promotional rate for new customers. I did not renew there service. Early the following year they came out and treated my yard again and left a bill hanging on my door. I called them regarding the bill and told them I didn't authorize the treatment. They stated that I in the fine print of the previous year billing that if I didn't cancel that work would continue. I wasn't made aware of this provision but wouldn't had a problem if they honored the previous year's arrangement of yearly charge. I can state that it is my fault for not reading the fine print although I did make one payment up front and in full for services agreed upon. The fee charged to me for the next year wasn't the same amount as agreed upon for the previous year. I contested the charges and was told that since the work had been completed I would have to pay. I went to there office, spoke my complaint in person and paid amount in full. It is very poor business practice to increase rate for a service without authorization from the customer. I believe Mr. [redacted] handled the situation very poorly and does not reflect good business policy. I also believe that there clause stating that services will continue should be verbily spoken by there representative and that this clause should not be able to carry over to the next year especially when a price change has been implemented.Desired SettlementRefund for amount paid for services not requested.Business Response To whom it may concern:All Day Lawn is responding to a complaint made to the Revdex.com Mid-South, by one Mr. [redacted], case# XXXXXXXX. In his complaint it was his main focus to point out that in his opinion we (All Day Lawn) have poor business practices, but that our services rendered were great. We feel his main issue in truth is that he could not receive the new customer discount once again.Mr. [redacted] used a coupon for his first year that is good for "New Customers" only. We expressed this to him and he was not satisfied. We have enclosed copies of all the invoices that were hung to his door as well as the notice for the price increase he received in the fall of 2012. As you can see we highlighted at the bottom of every invoice left for Mr. [redacted] at his home, that it clearly states that our services are continuous and written notice must be given to cancel service. It is a customary practice for many companies, both large and small, to offer discounts for new customers. The discount he was given was a promotional practice called "Buying the Customer." Many of today's businesses still use this practice. Enclosed also is the last invoice Mr. [redacted] received, and as you can see it was almost a year before he paid for services done at his home. It was not until we actually sent hirn a final collection notice and letter requesting payment for services rendered in October 2013, did Mr. [redacted] become upset and felt his need to vent his frustration to you, the Revdex.com.We feel that Mr. [redacted] is venting only since he is not disputing the good work done on his lawn, but rather he was not allowed to have a discount again that is meant for new customers onlv.Consumer Response All Day Lawn is in error when they state the main issue is that I couldn't receive the same price again. They have the right to charge what they want as long as the customer is in agreement with the fee. I could not have agreed with the fee since it was never disclosed to me. Again, my issue is that they increased their fee and did the work without my consent. I believe it to be poor business practice to increase the fee and do the work without the consent of the consumer. My "venting" reason is this: When All Day Lawn changed the fee for the next year they at that point changed the contract. At that point they should have been required to have my written consent before doing any future work. Also, you will NEVER make me believe that every bill was highlighted at the bottom of every invoice that states services are continuous and written notice must be given to cancel service. My biggest regret in this ordeal is that I didn't keep the invoices to which I believe would prove this statement to be false. In regards to the comment that I am venting only because I couldn't get the discount again, he is in error. One of All Day Lawn's competitors gave me a better quote per service and currently has my business.
