I am rejecting this response because: The response from the business is not entirely trueDr ***’s preliminary diagnosis was that *** has sustained an injury to his abdomen and was bleeding internallyShe aspirated his abdomen and found bloodShe took xrays and told me that there was no evidence of tumors or bleeding from the spleenShe seemed to be convinced that he had been kicked by a horseWe decided to try and stabilize his condition and re-evaluate in a few hoursIf he wasn’t improving we were going to make plans for his careDr*** never called me, nor did she come out and talk to me when I picked up ***Her staff told me to take him home and keep him quiet, try to feed him a little bit, and bring him back in the morningThey said If He Got Worse to take him to All Creatures Emergency Clinic in Stockton; which is NOT a hour care facilityThey are open 6pm to 8am and only open hours on weekends and holidaysI did take him to All Creatures at 9pm that evening because he wouldn’t stop vomitingThey treated him for the vomiting and gave him pain medicationHe felt better immediatelyI had to go back and pick him up at 7am because All Creatures Closes at 8am! Blue Oak veterinary called the next morning to see if I was bringing *** backThey called one other time a few days later to ask how *** was doing and I told them he was dead and had cancerI'm am still very upset at the loss of my friend, *** I wish he hadn’t suffered in pain while at Dr***’s hospital

In our community there are no hour care facilities*** was brought in with what appeared to be either a cancer or trauma causing abdominal pain and possible internal bleedingThe owner was informed that exploratory surgery was needed to determine if there was a bleeding spleen caused by cancer
or traumaThe owner stated that she would not have surgery done as she had had a dog die because of a similar problem and having had surgeryThe owner was informed that we did not have hour careAt times if an animal needs hour care I have referred them to hr care facilities; I have personally taken the animal home to watch or had the owner's monitor the animal at homeEach option depended on the animals needWe performed diagnostic work, started treatment for the dog *** and then referred the owner to hour careAt that point the owner had the option of continuing to stay with the hour care facility or returning to us, depending on ***'s needsThe owner elected to take *** homeDespite multiple calls by us in the following days, we had no further phone contact with the owner
