My husband and me have been the customers of All Eyes since 2018. This April, I visited there for my annual eye check-up and used my *** insurance as usual.
During the visit, I was not informed that some services are beyond my insurance and I had to pay out-of-pocket. What's worse, I still have no idea if that service is performed or not, but I definitely was NOT informed. Those services are: "Refraction with Exam", "Contact Lens Check with Routine Exam" and "Corneal Topography". I did not understand but I chose to believe them, so I still paid with my *** (about $50).
Last week, I called in later to order some contacts from All Eyes and asked how much allowance I can use from my *** insurance. The lady picked up the phone was super rude and answered that I have $0 left in my insurance, any contact expense will be out-of-pocket. I talked earlier with my coworker who used *** as well, and they claimed that they have about $140 allowance from *** towards contact expense. I called All Eyes again to say that they might have the wrong records in system, but the lady was rude and asked me if I REALLY want contacts, as if "stop bothering me if you cannot afford contacts". I also asked for more details about the billing from April, they were reluctant to tell me or mail it to me.
I called *** insurance and explained my situation, and *** said that I should be eligible for full $140 allowance and All Eyes did wrong operation with claims. Also, they DID NOT report to *** that I was charged for out-of-pocket for eye exam.
Eventually *** called All Eyes and fixed the "wrong operation" for me. But at this point, I wasn't sure if All Eyes are "making mistakes" or they are okay if they are not caught. Given the lack of information of what my insurance covers, what services I was receiving, what information All Eyes provided to *** and so on, I feel helpless and furious as an individual customer.

Refund I want more clarification on what services All Eyes are charging me for from the annual eye check-up on April. Also, I do not think I should pay for the services that I was not informed that it would be extra charge beyond my insurance (plus, I don't even know if they were actually performed or not!) So refund will be the resolution. Also, I need the apology because the front desk lady was surprisingly impatient and rude when I asked for some info that I was entitled to know as a customer.

I'm terribly sorry that you feel you were treated rudely and did not have a fantastic experience in our office.
The services rendered by our office and charges submitted to *** were all within the scope of an annual eye exam for a contact lens wearer. Unfortunately, you may not have understood that your insurance does not cover a topography, which is a standard charge administered for all contact lens patients in our office. This test allows our doctors to view the health of the cornea and capture adverse corneal health related issues. Our doctors perform this test once per year for all patients wearing contact lenses.
I have gone over your records and spoken to your insurance carrier and they have validated that all charges were received accurately, according to your vision plan coverage. I would be more than happy to discuss in detail with you to help clarify your coverage plan and eligibility, as it seems there is definitely some confusion.
