Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/05/06) */
We will be happy to refund the customer's deposit of $400 for a screen door kit. The original estimate as provided to, and agreed upon by the customer was for $1800 for the installation of a steel patio door. To date, we have received a total of...

$2200 from the customer. The door operated and functioned properly upon completion of install.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/05/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No this is not acceptable. When [redacted] the owner of All Hands Construction was last at my home to install the screen doors which should have been on the job site and installed the day the steel doors where installed, instead it was months later when he came to install the screen doors that did not fit the opening, at the time he offered to return the last check I gave him, the $700.00, I told him no, first I would like him to make an effort to find me something that does work & if he couldn't, then I would except the refund. We can not enjoy the purpose for installing new doors, with out screens! He never even made an attempt, & ignored all of my calls, texts, when I inquired if they where found & on order. Since that time not only did one door at the top have a huge gap, but they other door pops open if you don't lock the deadbolt. [redacted] is aware of these issues. Since that time the weather has gotten warmer & the active door of the pair, swelled & would not open with out pulling it with both hands on the lever, also, the weather strip at the bottom of the inactive door is distorted, adding to the problem with proper function. [redacted] had once expressed to me,he was a perfectionist! I feel that he forced the doors into an opening that needed work first for proper fitting the steel doors, and screens. The doors would mostly likely need to be removed and the opening reworked for them to fit/function as should have been done the first time. If he was happy to refund the money why did I need to go to this extent to force him to do the right thing!I feel he should redo the opening, and get proper screens. If he is unwilling to do this then the $700 should be returned in full, so I can get some one else to fix the opening and purchase & pay some one else to install the screen doors.
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 15, 2015/06/30) */
6/30/2015: The doors are new but were incorrectly installed. The doors are difficult to open. The edges are wearing and the weatherstripping is tearing loose. I would like openings reset and the doors properly installed. Then we can install the screens. I will send images of the problems.
7/07/2015: Mediator left message for consumer providing update.
Final Business Response /* (1000, 16, 2015/06/30) */
7/07/2015: I am standing by my original response to the complaint. I do not wish to have any further dealings with this customer.
