Review: FINAL PAYMENT FOR SHOP WAS PAID IN JULY, 2013 AND OVERHEAD DOORS WERE TO BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED. THE DOORS HAVE NOT BEEN INSTALLED OR THE INSULATION COMPLETED OR THE DISCREPANCIES RECTIFIED AS PER THE OKANOGAN COUNTY BUILDING DEPT. ALL IN BUILDING PROMISED TO COMPLETE THE JOB BY "FIRST OF YEAR" 2013, VERBALLY. STILL NOT COMPLETE AND CAUSING MY BUSINESS TO LOSE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ANNUALLY. THIS HAS GONE ON OVER A YEAR NOW.Desired Settlement: WOULD LIKE MY BUILDING TO BE COMPLETED BY JANUARY 23, 2014. CONTRACT FOR THE SHOP WAS ENTERED INTO ON NOVEMBER 1, 2012, AND ALL PAYMENTS WERE MADE WHEN REQUESTED BY THE BUILDER, ALL IN BUILDING.

Mr. [redacted],

I received your inquiry regarding Mr. [redacted]. I have been trying to resolve his project for some time now. When I started the project he wanted a shop to park his vehicles. I gave him a proposal and we signed a contract. Mr. [redacted] told me that he had obtained a permit and we got started. Once the project was started I found out from his excavator that Mr. [redacted] did not have the necessary permits. Mr. [redacted] then contacted the county and secured the necessary permits. I began again on the project once the permits were obtained only to get a letter wanting his money back. Mr. [redacted] then explained how he did not have the money to cover the payment at that time as business was bad that fall and winter. He made some payment arrangements with me and I continued as he could come up with the money.

Late summer we were finishing up the work and were contracted to do and Mr. [redacted] expressed that he wanted us to frame in a bathroom when we were doing the insulation in his building. He also wanted to add windows to the garage doors and now wants them insulated. In the process he mentioned that he wanted to see the customers when they pulled in as he was working in the shop. He also asked about connection the existing building to the new one, even tried to say that he thought that was included. It certainly was not. More importantly the permit Mr. [redacted] took out was for a residential garage not a business or commercial permit as would be required for a business to operate in that building. In addition, Mr. [redacted] failed to obtain a plumbing permit for the plumbing installed in the bathroom. This puts me in a obviously pour situation as the structure was not permitted, designed or built for a repair business to operate in.

Once the proper Permits are in place, current additional change orders are signed and any city and state requirements are addressed and meet I will continue on Mr. [redacted]’ Project.

Sincerely,

Consumer
