One year ago they did an outstanding job paving our driveway, back porch, and added a patio. We are hiring them again to add pavers to our pool deck and adjoining area. Hope this experiences is as flawless as the first!

I had hired this company to re-do my pool deck. After signing all the necessary paper work, 3-4 weeks down the line, the owner Stephanie calls and says that we will be charged additional 1000$ as they did not include those charges in the contract. Upon questioning why it was not told in the beginning, she got extremely rude and stated that we can cancel and find someone else. Both of us being extremely busy , we decided to agree and just go ahead with the project ( we did not want to start the search of new company and pavers selection all over again, after having waited for this project for a month already). One week prior to the day the project was scheduled, I called them up to confirm, I was notified that my project had been postponed to few weeks later. When I questioned about this , I was told it was due to Hurricane Irma. I said its understandable but someone should have called us and notified us. The lady, LIz, replied that they notified everyone else but they forgot to notify us. Then finally the project was started, had some cancellation and they were able to prepone our job. The work stretched longer than expected and on Thursday Oct 26th 2017 we had their invoice in email by noon. We did a check on everything on Saturday morning, Oct 28th and discovered a lot of issues. 1) expensive planters were thrown in lawn area and quite a few of them are damaged- so far no one has come to put them back in place after requesting politely 2) throwing tons of sand and dirt in the pool which is still being cleaned up to date 3) left empty bottles of drink and other trash in our backyard and plastic pieces on our fire pit. 4) broke the flood light and left broken glass pieces in the deck area which is extremely hazardous 5) broke the screen door 6) few of the pavers are loose. When we contacted them with the pictures of the unprofessional job and all the mess and damages they had left, their response was the guys are not finished with the job. When we mentioned that they had sent us the invoice by Thursday afternoon, and now they are saying that the job was not finished- it does not make any sense. So far no one has shown up or contacted to take care of any issues. We have pictures to support the complaints.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) We should be compensated for all the damages and unfinished work.

All In One Pavers Response • Apr 02, 2018

Document Attached***
It is true that we called Dr. *** a few days before his installation date. When the install order was being done, the owner caught a mistake on the proposal. The owner called the customer immediately and explained the situation.
When Dr. *** signed, the desk clerk did not read the proposal properly and did not get enough money for the deposit. The 3 option proposal was confusing, not even the customer caught the mistake. (please see attached original proposal) The owner explained that in good faith we could continue with the job as scheduled and that we would not ask for any additional monies, but we would add the extra amount to their final bill and we would need for him to acknowledge the change in writing. Dr. *** became very upset saying that it wasn't their fault, and that they are doctors and are far too busy to have to read the details of a contract. Eventually an agreement was reached and a revised proposal was sent which included 3 rolls of ground cover which had not been in the original proposal. The customer signed but no additional monies were paid. (please see attached revised proposal.
It is also true that we neglected to notify Dr. *** of the two week delay of his job because of hurricane Irma. He WAS NOT the only person that this happened to. It was a hectic time and there were many customers that we had to move out. We openly admitted our error and apologized. Dr. *** was angry and called us unprofessional.
It is also true that the Dr. ***'s job took much longer than expected. We did not realize that ALL of his pavers were cemented down and we had to chisel them up. Because of this a lot of his pavers were unusable and we had to order 2 more pallets for a total of over 200 sq ft. We only charged Dr. *** for an extra 75 sq. ft. and did not charge him a cent more for all the extra days of labor. It was our fault for not catching the cemented pavers in the first place and we acknowledged that. Dr. *** got a great deal!
Regarding the broken planters- Dr. *** asked us to move his planters, (see attached email) stating that they were too heavy for he and his wife to move. Our proposal (which he was too busy to read) specifically states that we will not move anything, however because we wanted to keep the customer on schedule we did move the items requested.
Dr. *** emailed pictures and a punch list of things to correct on 10/28/17 and our guys went out on 10/30/17. The trash had been picked up but the other items that he listed to the best of our knowledge were fixed. The planter that Dr. *** says that we broke, was already broken when we move it. However we fixed it anyway and there is no way that we broke his flood light.
Dr. *** paid on 10/31/17 and there has been zero correspondence since. We were unaware of his dissatisfaction up until we received this complaint.
We would have responded to this complaint earlier but we have just moved to a new location and our emails and phones have been chaotic to say the least.
Thank you for your time.

Customer Response • Apr 02, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This response, coming after 5 months, is highly unsatisfactory. But, on the other hand, we did not have any better expectations from them. None of the issues pointed out in our last email were taken care of.
