Review: My mother contracted this business for her swamp fan,to fix it,as well as a step outside her home.the work wad done in or around June of 2013. After ,said work was completed, one week later my mother attempted to use the swamp fan and it was not working. She as well as myself called repeatedly to have the contractor come and fix it but we were told the unit was old, which it is only 7 years old and my mother was not advised that the contractor believed it to be old and that fixing it may not work.my mother paid 350.00 for this and was charged 300 for the step. We have continually called to have the swamp fan fixed.it was the summertime and my mother's only form of cooling her house was the swamp fan. As of yet the contractor had not come to fix it. In December I spoke with the contractor who said he would come look at it next week. That wad December,we are now almost in February and he never showed. It has been almost 9 months and the company has continued to tell my mother and myself that they thought the unit was old,my mother said the contractor never advised her of this.in addition my mother had the contractor install two steps next to her house.within a short period after installation a crack appeared,we have called to ask this be looked at as well, with the same results,no show of the contractor.when I pursued the issue the General manager said my complaints were attacks and that she spoke with my mother who stated she wad happy with the work. My mother is 84 years old and gets confused and is easily intimidated.it has been my mother that has been at the heart of these complaints...she has repeatedly asked me to call the company because she said they would not return her calls.she told my older sister and I that she was very upset she was charged so much money and her step was cracked and cooling system did not work.when trying to complain the manager,Marissa seems to be unprofessional And as I said addressed my complaints as attacks.I simply stated to her that we have been very patien.aDesired Settlement: My mother would like the swamp fan fixed. If contractor is unable to fix it he should refund her money as my mother was never advised that it may not work. The step should be replaced and well so that it does not crack.

Regarding our Client [redacted], we went above and beyond to assist her with every request she made of us. We kindly extended credit to her and when she could not pay us we kindly continued to extend credit to her without penalties and even waiving her returned check fees. When that was not enough, we credited her remaining balance equaling 26% of the original balance and have even warranted teh product despite not being paid in full for the work we did. During the entire period of time we have worked with Mrs. [redacted] we showed her nothing but kindness, compassion, and complete professionalism.

The work we did for her Mrs. [redacted] went unpaid for 5 months and to date we have kindly credited all late fees, returned check fees. After countless hours of trying to reason with [redacted]'s daughters [redacted] and [redacted], and concluding there was no reasoning with them, we agreed to credit the remaining balance of $185.50 and fixed the step they demanded we fix to assist in getting this matter closed. Despite all the efforts we made, including the financial losses we incurred by applying all the credits we have, [redacted] and [redacted], Mrs. [redacted]'s daughters, continues to make erroneous slandering statements about our company to you as well as all over the internet on social media sites. We are truly at a loss in understanding the lack of appreciation for what we have done as well as their purpose in continuing to smear our reputation.

[redacted] agreed to pay her Mother's balance and only became upset and became hostile at our company after she was asked to fulfill the payment obligations she agreed to. Upon request for payment she immediately began threatening to give us bad reviews and threatened turn us into the Contractors State Licensing board which she has now done despite every effort we have made to appease her. (We have emails and phone messages as well as several witnesses to support this statement.) Prior to being asked to make a payment, she had both verbally and in writing complemented our company. (Please see attached letter from Mrs. [redacted] in December.)

Our Client (her Mother [redacted]) has repeatedly expressed her satisfaction with our company each and every time we have spoken to her throughout this process. She has repeatedly thanked us for going above and beyond for her. She has also repeatedly apologized for the behavior and statements by her daughters [redacted] and [redacted], whom has placed this complaint.

These erroneous statements by [redacted] are without merit.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:To slander my elderly mothers good name is horrific. My mother had every ability to pay, however,as Mrs. [redacted] was well aware,my father died during this time,my mother's account was frozen for 40 days per her credit union rules. MRS. [redacted] stated to my mother that she could take her time paying,a mere 700, bill. MY mother put thousands into this company. My Mother has been complaining about this company and her cracked step since it was installed. My Mother stated to me she has never apologized to Mrs. [redacted], that in fact,Mrs. [redacted] continued to call my mother, and state to her ,she went"above and beyond", my mother stated she felt as if Mrs.S [redacted] was trying to make her feel guilty. Indeed,it is Mrs. [redacted]. whom. Became hostile after we demanded repairs, Mrs. [redacted] likes to day "above and beyond" but if you know in her response she only refers to the money. There is no mention of any attempts to repair the work. I DON'T believe we live in a society where we pay for faulty work. MRS [redacted]. Slanderously refers to our family not having the ability to pay. She knows nothing of our finances,we all had ability to pay,the question was, what we're we paying for? Again,my Sister and I were slandered by being called "hostile" My sister and I are both professionals, and what is being referred to ad hostile, is simply asking for professional courtesy. To look at the work that was done. My Mother wants nothing more to do with this company, they clearly state satisfaction guaranteed, this is not the case for our Family.

Sincerely,

Response:

I received the most recent response from Mrs. [redacted] and with all due respect, for me to debate back and forth with Mrs. [redacted] is a waste of all of our time, energy and resources as this matter has already been settled amicably with our client Mrs. [redacted] ([redacted] Mother).

The fact of the matter is we have done all that was asked of us and more. As a curtsy we credited the funds that Mrs. [redacted] asked us to, as well as additional fees and charges, in addition to repairing a step that had a natural grain crack from being exposed to weather, all of which we had no obligation to do in any way in an effort to resolve this matter. In doing so the matter was settled amicably after being mediated by the Contractors State License Board. I have attached a letter reconfirming this; the letter is addressed to JM Customs Construction, our construction company. Our Client Mrs. [redacted] personally spoke with Cynthia Moore with the Contractors State License Board on several occasions. She stated we had done all that she asked of us and agreed the matter was settled.

In conclusion, there is no reason we should have to continue to address anything further with Mrs. [redacted] as we already settled this matter with our client Mrs. [redacted].
