Aloha,The vehicle in question was towed on 09/1/The driver was arrested for DUIOwner of the vehicle did come to pick it up on 10/24/Upon making payment at our office a (driver) had been asked to unblock the vehicle so that it maybe driven out by the ownerInitially the
owner had gone to the car, realized he hadn't had the keysHe returned an hour later with the keyHe accused the Officer of "stealing his keys upon his arrestInstead upon his return, he found it in his personalsHe was escorted to drive the vehicle off the lot. At no time did he mention to the Driver while in the back of the lot for over minutes(Driver helped jump start the vehicle)It appeared the interaction was civil, being that hands were shaken before getting into the truck.Approximate 1/hour later the Owners mom approached our office window screamingI heard the commotionI had asked what the issue was, she stated only at that time, that "tools were stolen"We presented the *** report filled out by each driver prior to towThe sheet did not indicate there were tools in the cab of any kindAfter being showed this she was a lot more irate. His mother stated she was on scene when her son was arrested and removed his propertyWhen I had told her that didn't make any sense as to what her complaint was, being that she stated she removed his property! She then changed her story that she hadn't taken anything outShe claimed she had a list of items written by the officerI asked to see this list she spoke of, she was unable to provide thatI explained most times if there is visible items of value upon a vehicle being towed by *** the Officer will do a Property Receipt and it'll be given to the tow operator upon leavingThis was not the caseNever during this time did the Owner, her son come to see any employee to state this claimThe mother had several versions of the story she told in the short time she was uncooperative and irate. Unfortunately, being that there were no documents in her possession to solidify her accusations and that our Property receipt before tow didn't reflect her claimIt was explained that there was nothing further we could do for herI did suggest for her to file a report with *** and she refused to do so for whatever reasonIt was strange to meIt also didn't make sense as to why they drove out and half hour later attempted to make claims. At this time she was insistent on having the tow fees reimbursed for her inconvenienceI politely told her we were unable to do thatIn no way were the owner or his mother made to feel uncomfortable in anywayIf anything my Dispatchers had felt uneasy with her screaming and swearing at themIt saddens me that accusations such as these made on legitimate companies are made solely for monetary compensation for situations they'd gotten themselves intoJust because it's a "tow company", they must all be bad...All vehicles are carefully inventoried and documented upon tow for these reasons specificallyTow companies in general have a bad reputation for poor business practicesAIAT is an Industry leader, we take pride in all we doAnd provide the best service possible for all customers, weather they're happy to see us or notIt is a thankless job that we doIt saddens me that false accusations are made on these pretenses without realizing we are a legitimate business and take our jobs very seriouslyAIAT runs a ZERO tolerance operationOur staff members are highly skilled and trained Emergency Responders.Kind Regards-K.H***All Island Automotive Towing

First I'd like to apologize for the delayed response. For some reason this complaint was sent to our Physical address and not our Mailing address on file....

... ·                 .After review of the complaint, I had pulled all information pertaining to this Vehicle & Customer. I had  also interviewed the Driver who was dispatched. AIAT had gotten the call approximately 21:18hrs on November 26, 2014 . The driver pulled up & immediately noticed a large party was going on in the area that the Honolulu Police Department had requested the Tow a vehicle blocking the Fire Hydrant. With the requesting officer on scene the driver had proceeded to hook up the vehicle, Shortly after proceeding there were approximately 15 people who had come out from the party. All were screaming & yelling at once, pretty  much surrounding the officer & driver. It was complete chaos as they were all noticeably infuriated at the situation and noticeably intoxicated.During the commotion no time did 1 particular person approach the officer&. state he or she was the registered owner & provide identification. Instead at that point the crowd had gotten unruly; back up was called a   both the officer & driver were EXTREMLY fearful for their safety There were individual attempting to get into the assumed locked vehicle; individuals  are also climbingon the Tow truck. The officer & driver had made it out of there are & proceeded with caution as the roadway was littered with belligerent individuals yelling, screaming & throwing unknownobjects. The vehicle was then brought to our Police Impound Facility. , Approximately an hour after the vehicles arrival a male & female (separate phone calls) had called repeatedly screaming threats to Employee answering the phones. Our office staff was advised of the occurrence at the pickup location when the vehicle arrived.   combined with the continued harassing demeanor the staff was instructed to call the HPD in assisting with safely identifying the registered owner & returning the vehicle to him or her. @ hours it they'd arrived and seemed to have aimed after being told repeatedly that HPD would be here for the safety of AIAT        midnight shift. First & foremast it's  ur job to ensure that our staff is safe & not in harm's way I Our employees under and that the conditions can get a little crazy out there but for no reason should they be made to be "FEARFUL For ThEIR LIVES" . In my opinion all parties  that participated in that chaos are lucky to not have ended up In Jail that evening  With that being said, AIAT respectful y denies the request of impound fees to be refunded.
