Review: I am a victim of predatory towing by All Island T Collision & Towing Inc. My Lincoln Navigator was in an accident on 11/**/14 in front of [redacted] and [redacted] The accident occurred in a local street and the car was still able to drive. I explained to the tow truck driver that I had a private lot/garage and I would just park my car there. I did not want my car to be towed at their facility since I knew they would accumulate further charges. The driver insisted that I provide documents to prove it was my car. Once I displayed the paper work, he got into his tow truck and sped away with my car attached to his truck. He did not provide me with any receipt or authorization form. I even called the local precinct to report my car missing. However, the police stated that I would have to file a civil complaint against the driver and the towing company.

I went to retrieve my car from All Island T Collision & Towing Inc. on Friday 11/**/14 at around 2:00 pm, which was during a business day and business hours. I explained to them that my car was wrongfully towed and stored in their facility and I want to take it out. They informed me that no one was there to move the truck out and I would have to come Monday. Not only was my car forcefully towed and stored in their facility, they declined to provide me with my car that day. So I went to pick up my car on Monday 12/**/14 and discovered that I was charged $125 for the towing which I did not consent to but another $158 for storage. The towing company charged me for 6 days of storage that I never agreed or consented to. Upon seeing the receipt, I discovered that it clearly states that “I have the right to direct the towing company where to tow the vehicle.” I specifically stated to the driver that I did not want my car towed to his facility and that I would instead just park my car in my friend’s private garage since it was still driving. The DCA medallion number is [redacted] and the Tow drivers name is [redacted] and his Tow ID license # is [redacted] and DMV license plate # is [redacted].Desired Settlement: I neither requested the towing services or storage of my vehicle in their facility. Therefore, I request that I be refunded for the unwarranted charges that I paid for. Most importantly, I am filing this complaint so this towing company does not prey on other customers who are unable to protect their rights or file a formal complaint.
