I took my Jaguar in on August they informed me that they needed to find partsafter two months of waiting a friend visited them and discovered that my engine had been dismantle and was sitting in the back seat of the carThey informed me I need a new engine and the cost was $5,plus laborThey told me I had to pay $to get my car from off their lotI paid and had it towed off their lotI have pictures and voice recordings

As Mr *** stated he was given three chooses, use a bypass switch, locate a used control unit or purchase a new control unit from the Jaguar dealerA bypass switch would have been the least expensive way to goHe was also given a price on a used control unit $plus festing and replacementI also told him this did not include programing if neededThe price of a new unit is $plus testing, replacement and programing if needed.The equipment we use giving us factory capability to test and program European vehicles including Jaguar cost in excess of $40,with an annual maintenance and update fee of $7,Very few repair facilities have this capability or the expertise to do these types of electronic repairsThis same repair at the Jaguar dealer would have been more than $1,MrInvin was charged a fair price for quality workAt no time has he state the climate control system has malfunctioned or it has preformed anything less than flawlessly.As a good faith measure I would be willing to meet Mr*** halfway and refund $of the disputed amountIf this meets with his approval I can mail the Check. Mrs*** contacted us about her Jaguar regarding problems she encountered after having repairs preformed at another repair facilityHer vehicle was towed in running roughly and noise from engineInitial inspection revealed loud internal knocking noise from the right side of the engine and multiple fault codes in engine,transmission, instrument cluster, climate control, charging system and seat modules(See attached invoice for the full list)Mrs*** was informed of our findings and the next step would be to remove the valve covers and spark plugs, inspect the valve train and check cylinder leakage on the affected cylinder Mrs*** said to precedeInspection revealed extreme internal damage to #cylinderMrs*** was informed of our findings and was given three optionsOption one, install a used engine, approximate cost $5,depending on availabilityOption two: disassemble her engine to see if it could be repairedSince repairs could equal or exceed the market value of the vehicle the third option would be to sell the vehicle to a salvage yard for partsAfter a lengthy conversation with Mrs*** explaining these options she chose disassemble an inspectionWe proceeded with her request and found a broken valve which caused damage to the piston and cylinder headThe cylinder and engine block had not been damagedThis suggested the engine could be repairedAt this point Mrs*** had a Mr*** inspect the damaged componentsShe decided to follow his recommendations and had the vehicle towedAll work was preformed with her full knowledge and consent and she was kept informed at each stepf you have any further questions please feel free to contact us

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear He told me 625 used and 975 for new part. He told me for a used one there would not be a warranty but it would work and most of the time if they work when you put it in it should be alright. I told he to put in the used one. At no time did he tell me that it would be a extra cost for anything. As for the dash is concerned, if they didn't remove the dash why did I have to pay 190 for the removal of the dash before he could see what was wrong with air? He asked if I wanted to pay for this I said yes go ahead. They called me back and gave me 3 option's 1-For bypass switch, 2-A used one temperature control, 3-A new one. I told him that I didn't want a bypass switch so what will the total cost be for a used one and a new one.

After testing, Mr. [redacted] was given an estimate for a used temperature control module. When he was given the price he was informed the price did not include programing. cases new parts have to be programed. A new module for this vehicle is $980.00 plus diagnostics, installation and programing. Our efforts to acquire a quality used unit saved Mr. [redacted] a substantial amount.The part of the dashboard that was cracked is the defroster vent panel on top the dash at the base of the windshield. The work that was performed was in the dash area facing the driver above the center console. At no time did we come in contact with the vent on top of the dash. The upper dash and vent are exposed to extreme heat from sunlight through the windshield and are prone to cracking.
