Review: On 1-2-15 [redacted] repaired two gates on my cedar fence that would not close properly. The two gates were a pedestrian gate and a double vehicle gate. He repaired the gates and I was then charged $350 for less than two hours of work. In addition, the only material that was replaced was one cedar slat. I paid him the requested amount, which was at the max end of the verbal quote he had given me. I then asked for a receipt which he replied that he did not have a receipt book with him so he would send me one in the mail. I have never received the receipt. He also never gave me a written bid for the same reason, he didn't have the paper work with him. Three days later the vehicle gate would not close and latch again. I called Mr. [redacted] and he said he would take care of it. Since then I have called Mr. [redacted] at least a dozen times, most of the time I would leave a message. A few times I talked with him personally and he would have some sort of excuse like I forgot or I have been very busy. Several times he texted me telling me dates and times he would be there to repair my gate. He has NEVER shown up to make the repairs. Of note, on his business card it lists that he is licensed and bonded. In looking up his license I found out that his license became inactivate in late 2014. So he handed me his business card saying that he is licensed and bonded when in actuality he is not. If I had known that I would not have hired him. I also see now why he never gave me a written bid or a receipt. I was very patient with Mr. [redacted] and now he will not even take my calls! .Desired Settlement: As far as restitution I would like to have at least half of my $350 returned to me or my gate repaired properly along with a written guarantee that if it fails again within 90 day's it will be repaired again at no cost.
