[redacted] came to our home for a service call on an air conditioner unit. He attempted to take advantage of our lack of now ledge by charging triple for freon and presented a $950 estimate for what turns out to be a basic service changing out a standard filter. [redacted] lied to us and claimed that the filter was no longer manufactured and attempted to charge $300 for a readily available part that costs $10-15. While [redacted] was at our home, before giving approval for the service to begin, my wife quickly looked online and realized that we were being lied to. My wife presented the facts to [redacted]. He became very agitated, quickly packed his truck and left immediately, leaving the ac unit still completely disassembled. I offered to pay him for coming out but he refused to accept payment. His wife [redacted] is now insisting that we pay the estimated price for service that was not performed. To be clear, the service in question was NOT performed and we still need to call out a new service provider to conduct the service.
