Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Please see the attached photos of Virgil's work in my shower. I also sent these to him and he did not respond to the failure of all of the work, outside of his excuse of water getting behind the tiles in the inside. I have had a contractor state that Virgil did not properly let the inside dry. It should have been left without sealant/caulking for at least one day before filling it back in. Virgil did his whole job in about 3 hours. That is why that portion failed. I have a contractor now replacing tiles, and there is no sign of water, it is completely dry, proving that Virgil's work was improper. Two of the photos are of the outside of the shower door where his caulking turned into yellow spots. I don't know why his caulking on the outside failed as no water reaches there. The caulking failed due to being a defected tube of caulk. All I did was applied the new caulk, how can I male a caulk turn yellow by applying it and make it fail. just like the customer states above it is a simple job.I am not responsible or liable of a failing manufactured item as you will see it the attachment section of the warrantees, it clearly states that I don't warrantee manufactured items separately only my work. which the customer signed and understood that, she read the entire contract before she signed it.I attached the letter that the customer sent me asking me to sign it after the completion of my work for her to use as leverage against the prior contractor to collect for damages as she stated to me. As you will see she was well aware of everything and understood. now she is trying to draw money back from me as well. when initially she should have gone after the consumer for a defective product not after me.

I was called by [redacted] to look at herMaster Shower work that was remodeled by a previous contractor, in which shestated that she was not happy with the outcome of her remodel.1- She wanted meto give a quote for the removal of her grout caulk from the perimeter of her insideShower pan where the...

tile rests on and re caulk. 2- Remove the existing caulkfrom the outside of the shower enclosure and re caulk and remove her epoxygrout caulk that was dried up on her porcelain tiles.  I gave her a quote first in Proposal #1589 for $1,050 + Tax.  I included in the proposal that I did notguarantee that grout haze will come off due to being left to dry for approximately4weeks on the tiles. She contacted me 2 weeks later saying that she would liketo proceed forward with me doing the job if I can come down on the price. So Idid in the Revised Proposal #1590 for the amount of $800.00 + Tax $79.00 =$879.00and she gave me the go ahead to proceed on the job and signed the proposal. Twoto Three weeks later after she signed the proposal and gave me the go ahead, Iwent on site and performed the work exactly as I specified in the RevisedProposal #1590 in which she approved of and signed. I used a grout haze removalthat her tile supplier recommended me to use and the epoxy caulking grout forher inside of her shower pan.  As I was removing her grout around the perimeter of her pan I noticedthat grout was moist, so I cleaned and dried it all off before I applied my newcaulk. When I was all done I had [redacted] look at the job & told her that sheis getting water somehow behind the tile walls and pan which she is notsupposed to & that I don’t know how & what her previous remodel mandid. I showed her that I was not able to remove her grout haze even though I usedthe entire container and scrubbed all her tiles.  As she was writing me the check for $879.00 Itold her that I am willing to except $700.00 in stead of the $879.00. I loweredmy price again (the third time.)  And fourweeks later she emails me stating that if I don’t give her $500.00 back fromthe $700.00 that she paid me that she will go & try to ruin my reputationby going to all the sites that she can and write all kinds of bad reviews. The Grout caulk came apart because of water getting behind thewalls due to her previous contractors remodel job has nothing to do with mywork. my work was performed as per the contract and everything was out in theopen and in black and white.
