All-Rite Concrete Services Ltd.

On May 8, 2015, I contracted [redacted] through his company All-Rite Concrete Services Ltd to exacavate and pour a concrete driveway for our house. Upon completion there were some issues with the work performed as some sections were done poorly, but I was assured by a worker that they would all even out in the next few days as the concrete cured. I paid [redacted] in full the next day. On May 10, 2015, two members of the crew came by to do the saw cuts. They started one line and quit because the concrete was chipping badly. There was no communication from All-Rite to explain this. A few days later two crew members came back and attempted the saw cuts again. This time they did many more lines but they chipped just as badly before stopping. Again, there was no communication from All-Rite about what happened. At this time I phoned [redacted] and after he phoned me back he said that he would come out to check on the issues. He came out a few days later to finish the cuts and they still chipped badly. Eventually after many phone calls to [redacted] he did come back to try to patch the chips in the saw cuts and to fix out some issues with the original workmanship (divots, etc) that never did even out. He assured me that all fixes would blend within a month and we would never be able to tell. By the end of July, two and a half months after the driveway was originally poured, these patches still had not blended so I began trying to get in touch with [redacted] again. In the past four weeks I have left approximately 6 messages and sent approximately 4 emails to him. He has phoned me back twice, both times promising that he would come out to look at the issues but both times he declined to say when he could come and both times he never came and never phoned back. At this point there are several patches on what should look like a brand new $10,000+ driveway and I am unable to get All-Rite to back up their work by either fixing the driveway, or providing me with payment so that I can contract another company to fix it.[redacted]Desired Settlement[redacted] I am requested that All-Rite provide me with the funds to contract another contractor to re-do the finish on my driveway so that it looks like the new driveway that All-Rite agreed to provide me with at the time we entered into our contract. As a second option, if All-Rite proves that it is able to fix my driveway, I would permit them to fix it.
