Verbal estimate given twice took two weeks to charge credit card, charge was more than double amount quoted. Called and asked for price for service on June 6, 2014. Was quoted one hundred and seventy dollars. made appointment for service on June 9. Was called back on June 9, and told that they could not come until June 10. I said that would be fine. Service man called me at 8:10 am June 10, and told me he was just leaving shop. He arrived on site at 8:45am and left at 10:55am. I asked him what the cost was and was told that he didn't do billing so had no idea. I then called the office and spoke to [redacted], who told me that the charges would be around two hundred dollars, to which I agreed, and gave her my credit card number. She told me she would call with an exact figure when she did the billing the following Friday (June13). No one from their office ever called. We went out of town for the next week and after arriving home on Thursday evening (June 26) I discovered that they had charged my credit card four hundred and seventy four dollars and fifty one cents.At 9:00 am the next morning I telephoned their office and again spoke to [redacted]. I was then told that she had nothing to do with billing and that I would have to speak to the service manager, who was however, unavailable. At this point I still did not have an invoice so asked that one be emailed, and I received the email shortly after. I have yet to hear from their office. Desired SettlementWould like to be refunded the difference in quote and what I was actually charged. Business Response We are pleased to be writing that we have resolved Complaint Activity Report Case # [redacted]. We personally spoke with our customer and came to a resolution of refunding him $125. As our customer indicates, he has been in contact with our office since June 6, 2014 when he initially requested a quote for the service required. In honor of our business we can provide a quote of an hourly rate which is $83.00 for the first half hour and $83.00 every hour after that, plus any material which is required. That being said, it would be hard to quote a job without a service technician identifying the problem on their own, as there could potentially be additional issues that we are unaware of at the time, leading up to unknown amounts for parts and/or labour costs.
