Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The response is untrue and is full of exaggerationsThis business was retained by the manufacturer to inspect items as part of warranty evaluation My nature was never condescending or dismissive, until it was obvious I was being lied to, manipulated and scammed The business told me that they would inspect my trailer and provide me with a report, but once it was clear (by admission, in writing, of their sertvice manager) that the trailer might be defective, they placed a gag order on their employees and refused to speak to me except to tell me to pick up my trailer when no work had been done on itThey admitted that they were afraid of a lawsuit and wanted nothing to do with my caseI had to leave my trailer on their premises because I was waiting for a written notice that I had indeed brought my trailer there for inspection as my warranty was running out in a week, and I needed proof items were presented for repairsI offered to pay out of pocket and received a very rude response in writing I made it very clear I would not pay storage fees I crossed off the cardmember agreement line when I signed the credit card slip, writing in that I was being extorted and I HAD to pay it to be allowed to remove my property from their premises The battery was dead due to the fact that the dealership left an internal light on when they inspected the trailer Each emplyoee at the dealership I dealt with had a completely different version of this story, including Rick F [redacted] and Gene H [redacted] When I came to pickup the trailer, the service manager called to prevent the tech from admitting to me that they had done only a cursory inspection of the trailer, a conversation which was accidentally videotaped There are many ways to inspect gaps in insulation according to industry insiders, including the use of an infrared camera, or removing the cover on one of the appliances as well as some caulk to measure the width of the foam insulation, inspect for gaps in the radiant foil, inspect for gaps in the roof membrane, and confirming the presence of an air gap No one was suggesting that they remove a wall of my trailer, as that would have ruined itNo one is suggesting that there is zero insulation in this trailer, so making sure that the walls were "straight" was a total waste of time The inspection was to confirm that the insulation was in keeping with the manufacturer's stated R-value, which customer could confirm herself upon receiving a report from a business enploying technicians sophisticated enough to understand the nature of this type of inspectionWhat All Seasons RV did was to agree to perform work that they were not knowledgeable enough or equipped to perform, and once they realized this they chose to lie to the customer as well as the manufacturer instead of apologizing and asking me to take it elsewhere.Charging me storage fees was just another way to deflect their inapproriate and unprofessional behavior.Sincerely, [redacted]

Ms*** did in fact bring her trailer in to our dealership for potential warranty issuesWe are a Forest R*** dealer for Rockwood and Salem products, although Forest R*** would like us to service their family of RV trailer and motorized products, we are Not under any obligation to service,
inspect, or otherwise, anything other than units that we have sold
During the period of time getting the authorization to do the warranty inspection, Ms***s demanding and condescending nature led us to decline doing any other work on her RV unitWe were authorized to do a one hour inspection of her trailer which of course we preformedAlthough it was not in the manner that Ms*** was wantingThe way she wanted it inspected, with the lamination process of constructing a travel trailer wall such as hers, long tern would have destroyed the entire wall of her unitSimply put, you can not just disassemble the wall of a trailer such as hers without numerous hours and thousands of dollars to repair properlyThe type of construction that is consistent with her travel trailer is easily inspected to the way in which it is put togetherMs***s trailer walls were inspected by three different employees in our company that have 41, 33, and years of experience at our shop and were found to be consistent with the proper construction of a travel trailerJust because it was not the way she wanted it done, does not mean that it did not happen
As for her battery that was supposedly damagedThere are systems within a travel trailer that will drain a battery within a few days if the unit is not plugged in to “shore” powerI do not know about her trailer but a lot of units actually have a battery cut off switch to help prevent this situationHad this been winter time and the battery was dead, it could have ruined the batterySummertime, it is unlikely and Ms *** should just plug the RV unit into a 120v power supplyThe AGM battery is a sophisticated battery and should not be charged with a standard battery chargerAn AGM battery can take up to days from a full discharge to be at full capacity againIf the person that charged or checked the battery did not do it properly or is unaware of this fact, it is easy to assume that the battery is defectiveThe converter assembly that is installed in RV’s is made to charge these type of batteries and if they used a standard battery charger, they can damage the AGM batteryThe proper battery for an RV unit is a Deep Cycle Battery and it is designed to charge and discharge fully without any damage to the battery
Ms*** was asked on the phone twice the last full week of August to come and get her trailerSince we cannot prove phone calls and with no response to that request, Rick, our service manager, emailed her on August 31st and told her that we would start charging her $10/day after the close of business day of Sep2ndShe chose to not pick up her unit and only finally came to get it days later at approx 8:in the eveningStorage fees for travel trailers that are left on dealership lots for extended periods is not illegalThere is an entire business model on storage of items they don’t have room for at their homes
We have a sign clearly posted at our dealership, as do many other businesses, that “We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone” Unfortunately Ms*** fell under this categoryThe owner, Gene, tried to offer some ideas or potential solutions and also potential warranty issues, without putting it on letterhead, for her other problemsThe email response back for that help was less than appreciative
I am happy to provide the 20+ pages of email correspondence with Ms ***Including the statement from our employee that had dealt with her the night she picked up her trailer and the reason that our employee felt she even needed to call for help with this situation

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
The response is untrue and is full of exaggerations. This  business was retained by the manufacturer to inspect 19 items as part of warranty evaluation.  My nature was never condescending or dismissive, until it was obvious I was being lied to,  manipulated and scammed.  The business told me that they would inspect my trailer and provide me with a report, but once it was clear (by admission, in writing, of their sertvice manager) that the trailer might be defective, they placed a gag order on their employees and refused to speak to me except to tell me to pick up my trailer when no work had been done on it. They admitted that they were afraid of a lawsuit and wanted nothing to do with my case. I had to leave my trailer on their premises because I was waiting for a written notice that I had indeed brought my trailer there for inspection as my warranty was running out in a week, and I needed proof items were presented for repairs. I offered to pay out of pocket and received a very rude response in writing.  I made it very clear I would not pay storage fees.  I crossed off the cardmember agreement line when I signed the credit card slip, writing in that I was being extorted and I HAD to pay it to be allowed to remove my property from their premises.  The battery was dead due to the fact that the dealership left an internal light on when they inspected the trailer.  Each emplyoee at the dealership I dealt with had a completely different version of this story, including Rick F[redacted] and Gene H[redacted]. When I came to pickup the trailer, the service manager called to prevent the tech from admitting to me that they had done only a cursory inspection of the trailer, a conversation which was accidentally videotaped.  There are many ways to inspect gaps in insulation according to industry insiders, including the use of an infrared camera, or removing the cover on one of the appliances as well as some caulk to measure the width of the foam insulation, inspect for gaps in the radiant foil, inspect for gaps in the roof membrane, and confirming the presence of an air gap.  No one was suggesting that they remove a wall of my trailer, as that would have ruined it. No one is suggesting that there is zero insulation in this trailer, so making sure that the walls were "straight" was a total waste of time.  The inspection was to confirm that the insulation was in keeping with the manufacturer's stated R-value, which customer could confirm herself upon receiving a report from a business enploying technicians sophisticated enough to understand the nature of this type of inspection. What All Seasons RV did was to agree to perform work that they were not knowledgeable enough or equipped to perform, and once they realized this they chose to lie to the customer as well as the manufacturer instead of apologizing and asking me to take it elsewhere.Charging me storage fees was just another way to deflect their inapproriate and unprofessional behavior.Sincerely,[redacted]

We are truly sorry that Ms.[redacted] is not happy. This is the reason that we chose not to do more work for the fear of litigation from Ms [redacted]. Yet, here we are defending ourselves for her many words of conspiracy. We performed the one hour inspection as authorized and reported back to Forest R[redacted] as requested. She did offer to pay for items that were not under warranty and we declined. We then spent three weeks asking her to pick up her trailer. Once again she was given a date to remove her unit and she obviously refused.

If a battery is ruined every time it is drained, there would be a lot of upset consumers. We still contend that there are numerous systems (ie. LP leak and CO2 detectors plus stereo system) within a trailer that draw current from a battery and within a few days, let alone the month it was left parked here, can totally drain a battery. If the battery is in fact ruined, it is potentially still the way it was recharged. If not, then it will also be within a manufacturers warranty of the battery. Items such as batteries and tires are not covered by Forest R[redacted] as they are consumables and are covered by the individual manufacturers.

All Seasons RV has been in business for 40+ years and built a business on honesty and integrity. There was no reason for ASRV to manipulate or gag our employees. We found this trailer to be built on par with other trailers of this type regarding your first and main concern as quoted in your email, “There is virtually NO insulation in the sides or bottom of the Tracer or any in the slide-outs.” Ms [redacted] does have some potential warranty issues as stated in the email that was sent to her. As mentioned before, we have declined to participate in any further work regarding her trailer.
