Got a call from them to come and clean my chimney, set up the appt and they gave me a window of three hours on a sat eveningWell the three hour window came and went, no call from them and nobody showed to clean the chimneyWaste of my time, will not use them again

How could Robert clean the flue with out removing the cap? The simple answer is you can't. Notice there are no wire marking indicating you cleaned the flue. If you have no regard for life (yours and your family) and want to be ripped off by a Chimney company then All Star is the one to hire. My recommendation is to steer clear of this company.
All Star did not show up to the first appointment to clean my chimney as initially - they called me the morning of the appointment to reschedule as it had been cancelled.
I made an appointment with them on Nov [redacted] to clean my fireplace and the furnace and to check the Cap on the chimney.
After inspecting the Cap the repairman – Chris told me the cost to replace the Cap was $350 and I told him not to proceed with replacement.
He then inspected the Furnace and took me to the equipment room in my home to show me that clay tiles that lined the Furnace were disintegrating. He also indicated that as a result the carbon monoxide and smoke could be coming back into my house through the walls which could cause illness for the residents and that the chimney could collapse and I could also have a fire. He stated that because he was not an “[redacted]” he was not going to call the Fire Department which he is required to do and that if they came they would shut down my boiler – no heat and the hot water – heater.
I responded that I needed to get a second opinion. He insisted that I needed to fix immediately as it was in dire condition. The cost to remediate was only $3,500. I called my husband who realized that Chris was trying to rip me off as he saw a single woman in the house. My husband told him that he had no authority or right to threaten to shut down my equipment and that he needed to finish the job and leave the property. Chris stayed almost an hour after my husband spoke to him. He got paid for the services we negotiated before he set foot on the property and even got a tip and left approx. 4 PM.
Approx 9:30 PM on that day the temperature in the house fell significantly and upon investigation we realized Chris had turned the boiler off. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he had forgotten. Shortly after the boiler was turned on the smoke detector/carbon monoxide started beeping and the basement had a smoky smell.
I called a technician from the Oil Company to get his help as I had no idea what was going on and we were in panic mode. Upon further investigation we noticed that Chris had not replaced the two Exhaust pipes but had instead hidden them at the back of the boiler on the floor. Chris’ actions created a hazardous situation which put our lives in jeopardy and had we not have detectors installed we could have potentially been killed. I emailed to Chris at 10:35 PM stating “Chris sorry to text you so late but I am the resident at ________which you serviced today. We had no heat for a few hours and realized you had turned off the boiler. Now its on and it smells like smoke downstairs and the fire alarm is going off – this has never happened before.” I took photos of the scene and sent them to Chris in yet another text and further stated “This is how you left the jobs site – you left metal tubes on the floor and didn’t put them back.” At this point 12/* – approx. 1:12 PM Chris has yet to acknowledge my text. Note the sincere note in my initial text apologizing for texting him late as I only came to the realization later that he did this intentionally.
I called All Star on Monday 11/** and spoke to Ahmed, a manager and explained what happened. He did some “research” and called me back saying my husband told Chris to leave the property.. As noted above Chris stayed for almost an hour after he spoke to my husband and even vacum the fireplace... My husband was appalled by the sales pressure and the misrepresentations Chris made and told him to finish what he came to do and leave. Why would my husband jeopardize our lives, knowing that he would not even be home on that day?? Knowing that I would not have a clue how to remediate the situation? That makes zero sense. If Chris was following my husband’s orders why did he not acknowledge my text when I reached out to him that night? Would I have knowingly paid Chris and given him a tip had I known the level of deceit and mal intent?
I called the Fire Department in my Village a couple days after to hear their feedback and they laughed when I told them what Chris said about shutting down my system. The response was “if your boiler is not malfunctioning then we have no issues”. The Fireman I spoke said he could not believe the Technician would be so irresponsible to leave things the way he did and that he could only surmise that Chris’ intent was to create a hazardous situation which would necessitate us calling the Fire Dept which could potentially result in them turning off my system if high levels of carbon monoxide was detected.
Chris and All Star are not only liars but they will overcharge you ... Note the quote for $3,500 and the fact that I have gotten subsequent quotes from several reputable companies for less than 1/3 of the price they quoted me.
Again, they tried to create fear, hysteria, angst and paranoia in the hopes that I would pay thousands of dollars for repair work that cost significantly less. Chris had not counted on the fact he had made an incorrect assumption that I was a single woman who he could take advantage of. Chris as an employee of All Star and All Star were willfully negligent in leaving the exhaust pipes off which could have resulted in illness, casualties and loss of life. I spoke to Cathy, another Manager, on 11/** and she minimized my feedback and the genuine fear we experienced on Wednesday 11/** by stating that it wasn’t so serious. All Star has refused to reimburse the monies I paid them when they knowingly jeopardized my life.

I have the pleasure of writing this well deserved review for All Star Chimney and the two men that came out to my home, Jimmy & Gary. These guys showed up at roughly 5:30 after a long day but still kept to the scheduled appointment I made with them for that day. My initial contact with the company came from a cold call offering a Chimney Clean special for $55. After Jimmy & Gary completed the inspection of my Chimney they were able to point out that my ceramic liner that must be roughly 50-60 years old was crumbling inside the Chimney exposing us to a potentially dangerous situation for carbon monoxide poisoning or fire. Jimmy explain the solution and the material to be used, then gave me a fair price of $2100 to complete the job. Their work was impeccable and even working into the evening after a long day they remained positive and upbeat. I will highly recommend them going forward.

Review: Got phone call from this company . Since I am on the dnc registry ,this call was illegal. I asked why they heard of the dnc they said yes. I asked why they called me, they said I am sorry, then hung up. If they knowingly break laws they are a company not to be trusted for anything else.
