Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am rewriting the response from Allstar Hydroseeding (in blue) so I can respond (in red) to each lie they have written RE: Dispute # [redacted] In April of this year we were contacted by one of our landscapers that we do work for within our service area We were asked if we could send one of our trucks and a crew to the other side of Snoqualmie Pass and do a job in the town of Ronald At that time we explained to the landscaper that with our busy schedule the only way we could do that is if we charged what that truck would do if it stayed in the service area and worked for the day As the landscaper and I began to negotiate numbers it was decided that $3,would be the number required to mobilize a truck and crew for the day to perform this project The landscaper agreed that this was an acceptable price, especially in lieu of the quote he had received to do the yard in sod which was in excess of $8, Paul, the owner of Allstar Hydroseeding told me that they had had projects in our area, specifically, [redacted] which is approximately minutes from our home Paul told me that the reason they overcharged us is because we did not schedule our day to spread the hydroseed at the same time as another job at Suncadia If we had known that, we would have selected another day to have the job done Sod was never a consideration, so I don't know what a sod bid has to do with anything During the original conversation the size of the yard was quoted as 22,square feet With this information we made the purchase of supplies to accommodate that size project Due to the location of the project on the east side of the State we had to order custom seed as t his area has a different growing climate and our standard seed blends would not work In addition to the products ordered we had to make an appointment with the City of Roslyn to have a truck inspection preformed in order for us to obtain a water permit and purchase water Because we do not perform work in this area we had to spend the extra time and money to secure this water source with the City We have researched the process of acquiring supplies for spreading hydroseed Also our landscaper told us that since Allstar does business over here all of the time, they had the seed that was needed for our lawn We spoke with City of Roslyn and the Water Department in Cle Elum We found you can only get water from Cle Elum; not Roslyn, and both managers there told us that one does not need to make an appointment to get water for the hydroseed, and the only "truck inspection" required was to make sure the truck had the correct nozzle to accept the water Also, there is no permit required and the fee to purchase water is nominal, $per gal of water [redacted] at the [redacted] told us the only trucks they give water to are fire trucks He has no idea what Allstar is talking about And, a special mix of seed for our area is rediculous All it is is a different mix that you can buy at any [redacted] *** Kentucky Blue Grass and Fescue and Rye and no one ever told us that the mix would be extra or a problem to get Allstar is making things up Three weeks later after the original phone call with the landscaper, we received a call that the project would be ready to install on May We make an opening in our schedule and blocked out the day for a crew and truck to head from Monroe to Ronald for the install Later afternoon of May 4th we receive a phone call from the landscaper confirming that the project was ready to go, and, somehow it was now only 11,square feet With the schedule already set and the custom products purchased, we informed the landscaper that this was not standard pricing and the quoted price was the price to do the project He confirmed that the price was not an issue On the morning of May 4, our landscaper was at our property and measured the land again He said that he over estimated the land size and that our area to be hydroseeded was only 11,square feet He called Allstar Hydroseeding right then, it was well before noon, and left them a message that the size of the project was 1/of what he had originally said Allstar didn't return the call, but must have received the message since they arrived at our house the next day with square feet of seed to spray Our landscaper then hung up the phone and said, "well, [redacted] , I just saved you another $1,500." We were happy about that, and expected the price would be adjusted to represent 1/of the seed necessary The statement that Allstar makes claiming that they spoke to my landscaper prior to the application to tell him there would be no reduction in price that statement is an outright lie My landscaper found out from me 1/hour after the seed had been spread, that they ad not reduced the price The morning of the install the crew is enroute and most of the way to the job We receive another call from the landscaper stating that he was wrapped up in another project and couldn't make it over to Ronald for payment I let him know that would not be a problem and we would invoice him like we have in the past The landscaper stated that if we gave the invoice to the customer that we would pay it If this conversation actually happened, our landscaper would have called us and told us that they weren't taking any money off for the seed We would called them off had we known this and our landscaper claims that he didn't know prior to the spreading of the hydroseed that they had not cut the bill in half At the time, the landscaper and I were on good terms Our crew arrived in Ronald at the day and time requested They preformed the install and provided the customer with follow up instructions and answered their questions about caring for the product At that time the customer praised the crew for an excellent job He was then given the invoice and he expressed no issue with the pricing He then proceeded to pay fort the invoice with his credit card and thanked our crew for a professional and competent job The Allstar crew arrived at least an hour late They said that they had trouble getting water They told us that Roslyn asked who the landscaper was, who they were getting the water for When Allstar told them it was [redacted] , the two guys from Allstar said Roslyn told them to " [redacted] ***, and we would never give water to that jerk" Then they told us they had to drive around to find water and that's why they were so late As for the spraying of the hydroseed, it seemed to go well The two crew guys were amiable enough and seemed to do a good job After they finished and handed us a bill for $my wife and I looked at them and told them that this bill was twice as much as it was supposed to be After knowing my landscaper had called the day before and cut the amount of seed in half We expected the bill to be $ When we told them it was twice as much it was supposed to be, I looked at their blank faces and told my wife that we should just sign it It was a mistake and our landscaper would handle this Two hours later we received a call from the landscaper thanking us for making the trip to do the job He stated the customer had called and praised what a great job we had done At this point we were satisfied that the project was a success We don't know if this conversation ever took place, because the next conversation I had with the landscaper that afternoon was that we were charged twice as much as we were supposed to be and that he would fix it He said, "after all, [redacted] , half the seed; half the price that's obvious" We were satisfied and expecting our refund or adjustment in the credit card payment before they put it through the bank The following day a phone call was made to the office and answered by one of our owners Paul J*** The phone call was from Mr [redacted] and he was inquiring about the price We explained to him how the pricing was determined and that this was not service area pricing He understood and the conversation ended in a pleasant manner The following day Mr [redacted] called back and MrJ [redacted] was not available Mr [redacted] proceeded to leave an extremely vulgar and threatening voicemail demanding money be refunded to his card because he felt he was overcharged This conversation took place prior to my landscaper informing me, much to his surprise and chagrin - he had been working with this company for years - that Allstar would be refunding us nothing And he could not believe that Paul at Allstar was doing this I was trying to massage Paul into not ripping me off I was "pleasant" before I found they weren't going to change the price This doesn't even get into what one crew member, Jarrod, said about me to the landscaper Here's the message I got from the landscaper the next morning after asking Jarrod and the other crew member to make sure they leave me some seed and that I'm not to be charged tax Jarrod took that statement from me and called the landscaper and proceeded to freak out at the landscaper about how the landscaper must think they're really stupid Here's the text from our landscaper to us after his conversation with Jarrod: "The hydro seeder workers said that u said a bunch of stuff about me saying crap about the hydro seeders keeping a eye on them and that they were shady [redacted] I save u a [redacted] load of money cost on all materials my cost did the best job I could followed threw with what I said in the job and I never said one thing bad about the seed company have a great day" My first call to Paul the next morning was about the bill and also why my landscaper is freaking out at me What did Jarrod say? Paul went on to explain to me that Jarrod was having some real issues right now; that he was marrying a gal who had three young kids, none of them were his, and that Jarrod was going through some real money issues right now Paul was apologizing for Jarrod's behavior He couldn't understand, either, like "leave me seed and don't charge me tax" why that simple statement was taken to mean that I was calling him an it The reason we're telling you this, Revdex.com, is because you should know the incredible drama and unbelievable unprofessionalism we had to go throughPaul also called our landscaper "an [redacted] bigmouth This is someone he's been working with for years How unprofessional! And I got nowhere with Paul and reducing his price, because I stupidly signed the bill I did not get upset until later the next day when my landscaper called me and told me, I can't believe it but Allstar is not taking any money off the billThe last thing my landscaper said to me was: I can't believe he's not cutting the bill in 1/ When you order 1/the seed you should pay half the price I've only been working with these guys years As you can see, someone is lying and it is Allstar Hydroseeding I can't believe they are doing this over $ They are trying to convince you, Revdex.com, that Ronald Washington is a foreign country They are making it seem that Snoqualmie Pass is on the other side of the world As a matter of fact, it is minutes farther from their store than Bellingham, WA My friend in Bellingham called for a quote for hydroseed from Allstar It was cents a square foot and no trip charge Allstar is charging us $to go minutes further each way!! Can you imagine how upset we are? We would have cancelled Allstar's service if they had told us they were charging us this much money, and they know that That's why they didn't contact anyone until the job was completed Allstar Hydroseeding makes every effort to make sure all customers are satisfied with our service Although we do wish things had not played out the way they did, we do not feel that we have done anything deserving of a refund As a result of this transaction we have changed our own policy on how payments are handles In the future all payments will originate from the person or company making the order Although Mr [redacted] was the end customer, our first customer was the landscaper that made the transaction in the first place Allstar Hydroseeding owes us a refund of $1, They owe us a refund because they sprayed 1/of the amount of hydroseed they had bid us for initially To have not changed the price to reflect the reduction in product applied is outright stealingAllstar owes us $1, And, since we can't speak to them about their result of the spray due to this overcharging issue, I will tell you that their hydroseed contained 40% weeds and we are overseeding their hydroseed spray so that our yard won't be a mass of weeds The result was a terrible waste of money and no one should use Allstar Hydroseeding If we do not get some resolution, we won't stop We will take this as far as we have to to get the proper outcome I talked to a hydro seed outfit in Kent, WA, who would have charged us cents a square foot and told us they charge a $trip fee Sincerely, [redacted]

RE: Dispute #***
In response to the dispute filed with the Revdex.com we would like to submit our statement of events that occurredOur original reply is in black, Mr*** s response is in blue, I will reply to his concerns in red
In April of this year we were contacted by one of our landscapers that we do work for within our service areaWe were asked if we could send one of our trucks and a crew to the other side of Snoqualmie pass and do a job in the town of RonaldAt that time we explained to the landscaper that with our busy schedule the only way we could do that is if we charged what that truck would do if it stayed in the service area and worked for the dayAs the landscaper and I began to negotiate numbers it was decided that $3,would be the number required to mobilize a truck and crew for the day to perform this projectThe landscaper agreed that this was an acceptable price, especially in lieu of the quote he had received to do the yard in sod which was in excess of $8,
Paul, the owner of Allstar Hydroseeding told me that they has projects in our area, specifically, Suncadia Resort, which is approximately minutes from our homePaul told me that the reason they overcharged us is because we did not schedule our day to spread the hydroseed at the same time as another job at SuncadiaIf we had known that, we would have selected another day to have our job doneSod was never a consideration, so I don't know what a sod bid has to do with anything
Prior to the arrival on the day Allstar Hydroseeding did the install, we never even knew who Mr*** wasThis job was scheduled through his landscaper, negotiated a price through his landscaper, and was told we would be paid by the landscaperWhen Allstar was originally contacted about this project by *** with *** ***, we were asked if we would travel to Ronald to do the jobWe raised our concerns that this is long distance for our trucks to travelThis is well outside of our service area, we would have no way to service the customer post install if needed*** then proceeded to tell us that he received a bid to do the project in sod for $8,and anything less than that would be a better deal. He went on to tell us that he was working on numerous projects in the area and he could do the follow up if neededWe told *** that in order to
make it happen we would need to have that truck do the same amount in sales as if it stayed localWe agreed on a price of $3,and waited for him to finish the prep workPaul at no time talked to Mr*** about scheduling. We had no other jobs anywhere in the vicinityThis job was exclusively for *** ***The option to reschedule on another day when we would be in the area is complete fabrication
During the original conversation the size of the yard was quoted as 22,square feetWith this information we made the purchase of supplies to accommodate that size projectDue to the location of the project on the east side of the State we had to order custom seed as this area has a different growing climate and our standard seed blends would not workIn addition to the products ordered we had to make an appointment with the City of Roslyn to have a truck inspection preformed in order for us to obtain a water permit and purchase waterBecause we do not perform work in this area we had to spend the extra time and money to secure this water source with the City
We have researched the process of acquiring supplies for spreading hydroseedAlso our landscaper told us since Allstar does business over here all the time, they had the seed that was needed for our lawn
We spoke with the City of Roslyn and the Water Department in Cle ElumWe found you can only get water from Cle Elum, not Roslyn, and both managers there told us that one does not need to make an appointment to get water for the hydroseed, and the only "truck inspection" required was to make sure the truck had the correct nozzle to accept the water*** at the *** *** *** told us the only trucks they give water to are fire trucksHe has no idea what Allstar is talking aboutAnd, a special mix of seed for our area is ridiculousAll it is is a different mix that you can buy at any *** ***Kentucky Blue Grass and Fescue and RyeAnd no one ever told us that the mix would be extra or a problem to getAllstar is making things up
Mr*** is correct about the City of Roslyn not selling waterAfter reviewing the original response the wrong City was quotedWe did make our purchase through the City of Cle ElumThere was a truck inspection performed by the Fire Chief (His name is ) The Fire Chief checked the truck for the proper "air gap", not a nozzleThis makes sure that when a tank is hooked up to a hydrant that it cannot contaminate the water system*** also provided us with the City's double check hydrant connection in order for us to get waterWe stand corrected on the misquoted City from the first response
As for seedWe never made a claim that it was hard to getWe never said it would cost extraWe simply stated that because it is not a mix used on the West side that we had to order it from one of our vendors because we do not stock it in our warehouse
Three weeks later after the original phone call with the landscaper, we received a call that the project would be ready to install on May 5thWe made an opening in our schedule and blocked out the day for a crew and truck to head from Monroe to Ronald for the installLate afternoon of May 4th we receive a phone call from the landscaper confirming that the project was ready to go, and, somehow it was now only 11,square feetWith the schedule already set and the custom products purchased, we informed the landscaper that this was not standard pricing and the quoted price was the price to do the projectHe confirmed that the price was not an issue
On the morning of May 4- our landscaper was at our property and measured the land againHe said that he had over estimated the land size and that our area to be hydroseeded was only 11,square feetHe called Allstar Hydroseeding right then, it was well before noon, and left them a message that the size of the project was lA of what he had originally saidAllstar did not return the call, but must have received the message since they arrived at our house the next day with 13,square feet of seed to sprayOur landscaper then hung up the phone and said, "well ***, I just saved you another $1,500." We were happy about that, and expected the price would be adjusted to represent Vi of the seed necessaryThe statement that Allstar makes claiming that they spoke to my landscaper prior to the application to tell him there would be no reduction in priceThat statement is an outright lieMy landscaper found out from me lA hour after the seed had been spread, that they had not reduced the price
The story about the landscaper not knowing the size of the area until one day before the install is completely unbelievableAllstar Hydroseeding has been in the landscape industry for over years and we are well aware of what is involved in preparing the soil for seedThe landscaper had to know how big of an area he was working with for topsoil calculationsHe had to be aware of how big his area was for irrigation coverage with sprinkler headsThe story of it shrinking to half the size the day before is just that, a storyThe quote of saving $1,from Mr*** s landscaper is not something I can comment to as I was not thereI can attest to the fact that *** from *** and I had a conversation that afternoon about the job somehow shrinking to half the size and that we would not be coming over for a lesser chargeThis was a negotiated price to include taking our rig out of service for the day and size was not the factorThis was also *** out to go a different route if he chose but we were instructed to come over the following day anywaysTo this point we still had never spoken to Mr*** and were under full assumption that *** would be paying for the invoice as we had discussed previously
The morning of the install the crew is enroute and most of the way to the jobWe receive another call from the landscaper stating that he was wrapped up in another project and couldn't make it over to Ronald for paymentI let him know that would not be a problem and we would invoice him like we have in the pastThe landscaper stated that if we gave the invoice to the customer that we would pay it
If this conversation actually happened, our landscaper would have called us and told us that they weren't taking any money off for the seedWe would have called them off had we known this and our landscaper claims that he didn't know prior to the spreading of the hydroseed that they would not cut the bill in halfAt the time, the landscaper and I were on good terms
Hind sight I wish the landscaper had called Mr*** and had given him this optionIts obvious that this never occurred as we had made it clear to the individual that made the appointment that our price was still the sameIt is now clear that *** wanted the project finished and really didn't care about the fallout for both Mr*** or Allstar HydroseedingAs for taking payment from Mr***, this is a common practice in the industryMany landscape companies will have subcontractors come in to perform different tasks and they will be compensated from the homeownerThis has occurred numerous times with our business and has never been an issueAfter this transaction
Allstar Hydroseeding has made it our policy that we will not collect payment from anyone but the party that negotiates the transaction
Our crew arrived in Ronald at the day and time requestedThey preformed the install and provided the customer with follow up instructions and answered their questions about caring for the productAt that time the customer praised the crew for an excellent jobHe was then given the invoice and he expressed no issue with the pricingHe then proceeded to pay for the invoice with his credit card and thanked our crew for a professional and competent job
The Allstar crew arrived at least an hour lateThey said that they had trouble getting waterThey told us that Roslyn asked who the landscaper was, who they were getting water forWhen Allstar told them it was *** ***, the two guys from Allstar said Roslyn told them to "*** off, and we could never give water to that jerk"Then they told us they had to drive around to find water and that's why they were so lateAs for the spraying of the hydroseed, it seemed to go wellThe two crew guys were amiable enough and seemed to do a good jobAfter they finished and handed us a bill for $3,my wife and I looked at them and told them that the bill was twice as much as it was supposed to beAfter knowing my landscaper had called the day before and cut the amount of seed in halfWe expected the bill to be $When we told them it was twice as much as it was supposed to be, I looked at their blank faces and told my wife that we should just sign itIt was a mistake and our landscaper would handle this
Mr*** s statement about the trouble getting water is accurateAfter the crew picked up the hydrant supplies from the Fire Chief they were told that water from Roslyn and Ronald was available to useThe Chief informed them of the hydrant at the bottom of the road to Mr*** house where they attempted to fill the truckWhen they were approached by the individual claiming to be with the City of Ronald, the crew explained how they came to be on this hydrantHe could see that we had proper equipment from the City of Cle Elum and we explained why we were thereHe did state just like Mr*** said that Ronald only gives water to fire trucksBeing that they were already on the hydrant he did proceed to loosen up and said they could take a load of water from the hydrantThat's when he asked for documentation on where the crew-was headingWhen they showed him the invoice for *** landscaping the representative from the City flipped out and chased our guys off the hydrantThis was a major red flag for us as this was our first experience working with ***If Allstar had all the jobs in this area that Mr*** claims we hadI would think we would be a little more fluent in knowing how and where we can get waterThis being the first ever working in this area we were very new to the water districts
As for handling payment, the installers are not the salemen and do not have knowledge of what the price should or should not beIf there is any issue they contact the office for clarificationIn this case no call was ever madeWhen the crew was asked how the day went later that afternoon, they stated everything went well and the customer was happyThey did share the story about the water guy which raised red flags with us about the credibility of ***
Two hours later we received a call from the landscaper thanking us for making the trip to do the jobHe stated the customer had called and praised what a great job we had doneAt this point we were satisfied that the project was a success
We don't know if this conversation ever took place, because the next conversation I had with the landscaper that afternoon was that we were charged twice as much as we were supposed to be and that he would fix itHe said, "after all, ***, half the seed, half the priceThat's obvious"We were satisfied and expecting our refund or adjustment in the credit card payment before they put it through the bank
The conversation two hours later with the landscaper did occurHe did thank us and went on to discuss another project he needed us to do the following week in MonroeAt no time was there a comment made about the customer wanting a refund*** never asked us why we "overcharged"' the customerAgain, it is now completely clear that *** wanted the project done and then left the aftermath to the customerWe do feel for the *** s as they have been lied to by the landscaper and he has made Allstar Hydroseeding out to be the bad guysBesides changing how we accept payment and making sure we deal with the party we negotiate with, I'm not sure how we could have avoided thisLike I mentioned earlier we have done numerous transactions directly with the homeowner, through the landscaper, and it's never been a problemEven with that said we have done exactly what we said we would do for the price we statedWe do feel Mr*** is owed a refund, but it's not from Allstar, it's from *** landscaping
The following day a phone call was made to the office and answered by one of our owners Paul J***The phone call was from Mr*** and he was inquiring about the priceWe explained to him how the pricing was determined and that this was not service area pricingHe understood and the conversation ended in a pleasant mannerThe following day Mr*** called back and MrJ*** was not availableMr*** proceeded to leave an extremely vulgar and threatening voicemail demanding money be refunded to his card because he felt he was overcharged
This conversation took place prior to my landscaper informing me, much to his surprise and chagrin - he had been working with this company for years - that Allstar would be refunding us nothingAnd he could not believe that Paul at Allstar was doing thisI was trying to massage Paul into not ripping me offI was "pleasant" before I found out they weren't going to change the price
This doesn't even get into what one crew member, Jarrod, said about me to the landscaperHere's the message I got from the landscaper the next morning after asking Jarrod and the other crew member to make sure they leave me some seed and that I'm not to be charged taxJarrod took that statement from me and called the landscaper and proceeded to freak out at the landscaper about how the landscaper must think they're really stupidHere's the text from our landscaper to us after this conversation with Jarrod: "The hydro seeder workers said that u said a bunch of stuff about me saying crap about the hydro seeders keeping an eye on them and that they were shady *** I save u a *** load of money cost on all materials my cost did the best job I could followed threw with what I said in the job and I never said one thing bad about the seed company have a great day"
My first call to Paul the next morning was about the bill and also why my landscaper is freaking out at meWhat did Jarrod say? Paul went on to explain to me that Jarrod was having some real issues right now; that he was marrying a gal who had three young kids, none of them were his, and that Jarrod was going through some real money issues right nowPaul was apologizing for Jarrod's behaviorHe couldn't understand, either, like "'leave me seed and don't charge me tax" why that simple statement was taken to mean
that I was calling him an itThe reason were telling you this, Revdex.com, is because you should know the incredible drama and unbelievable unprofessionalism we had to go throughPaul also called our landscaper "a*** *** This is someone he's been working with for yearsHow unprofessional! And I got nowhere with Paul on reducing his price, because I stupidly signed the billI did not get upset until later the next day when my landscaper called me, I can't believe it but Allstar is not taking any money off the billThe last thing my landscaper said to me was: I cant believe he's not cutting the bill in VzWhen you order lA the seed you should pay half the priceI've only been working with these guys for yearsAs you can see, someone is lying and it's Allstar HydroseedingI can't believe they are doing this over $They are trying to convince you, Revdex.com, that Ronald Washington is a foreign countryThey are making it seem that Snoqualmie Pass is on the other side of the worldAs a matter of fact, it is minutes farther from their store than Bellingham, WAMy friend in Bellingham called for a quote for hydroseed from AllstarIt was cents a square foot and no trip chargeAllstar is charging us $to go minutes further each way! Can you imagine how upset we are? We would have cancelled Allstar's service if they had told us they were charging us this much money, and they know thatThat's why they didn't contact anyone until the job was completed
I will address the factual parts of this statement as I really have no comment on these accusationsMr*** claims that we are jeopardizing our year relationship with the landscaperThis is another lie from JJ*sThe comical part of this whole thing was this was the very first job we every performed for *** Mr*** but *** has lied to you again. We did one more job a week later in Monroe and then decided to terminate our ties to this company as they have a reputation of very shady business practicesWe talked with three other hydroseed companies that have done business with him and they all chose to refuse service to him
As for justification on the pricingThis has never been a secret, we stated from the beginning that we were requiring a Hat amount to mobilize a truck and crew for the day to Ronald. If the pricing was being compared to a comparable job in our service area then I would agree about the over chargeYour argument is comparing apples to oranges
The explanation for your friend in Bellingham is an easy onePlease visit our website and sec that we have two locationsOne in Monroe, the other in StanwoodWe service the Bellingham area all the time as it is only minutes from our Stanwood locationI'm sorry but the argument is a moot point as Bellingham is in our service areaAs far as the opportunity to reschedule, with this entire transaction negotiated and scheduled through *** I'm not sure how we would have had the chance to do this. We never even knew Mr*** s name prior to him pulling out his credit card and paying for the jobIf the landscaper set the whole thing up and confirmed the date, time, and price, why would we feel the need to reach out to the homeowner?
Allstar Hydroseeding makes every effort to make sure all customers are satisfied with our serviceAlthough we do wish things had not played out the way they did, we do not feel that we have done anything deserving of a refundAs a result of this transaction we have changed our own policy on how payments are handledIn the future all payments will originate from the person or company making the orderAlthough Mr*** was the end customer, our first customer was the landscaper that made the transaction in the first place
Allstar Hydroseeding owes us a refund of $1,They owe us a refund because they sprayed Vi of the amount of hydroseed they had bid us for initiallyTo have not changed the price to reflect the reduction in product applied is outright stealingAllstar owes us $1,And, since we can't speak to them about their result of the spray due to this overcharging issue, I will tell you that their hydroseed contained 40% weeds and we are over seeding their hydroseed spray so that our yard won't be a mass of weedsThe result was a terrible waste of money and no one should use Allstar HydroseedingIf we do not get some resolution, we wont stopWe will take this as far as we have to to get proper outcomeI talked to a hydro seed outfit in Kent, WA, who would have charged us cents a square foot and told us they charge a $trip fee
We do not doubt that the *** s feel they are entitled to a refundWe agree that a refund should be granted based on the way they were treated from their landscaperIf Allstar Hydroseeding had dealt directly with the ***s and failed to do anything as provided, I would be happy to discuss a refund or some type of adjustment in the priceIf we can assist the ***s with information or resources to help recover any kind of refund, we would be happy to do so
To address the concerns about weedsThis is a naturally occurring event in all yardsOur care instructions address this and tell the owner how to mitigate themI know Mr*** would like to blame the weeds on Allstar but I would encourage him to contact any turf farm or hydroseed company he would like and ask them about weedsThey do not come from the hydroseed mix but are the soilSome dirt has more weeds than othersNot knowing where *** got their soil from I cannot make a comment on the quality of the soilAgain, I encourage Mr*** to call anyone he likes, I don't expect him to take our word on thisHe will find the message the same with whoever he callsIn closing we are truly sorry the ***s had to go through this type of transaction with their landscaperHad we known a fraction of this information prior to coming out we would have made immediate contact with them to confirm everything that was negotiated with the landscaperThe unfortunate thing is this entire transaction was orchestrated through *** who then put Allstar and Mr*** together on a collision courseIf we can assist in any way to help the ***s recover money from *** we would be happy to help. I hope that this helps to clarify how these two parties got to this point
Sincerely,
Chad G***

RE:  Dispute #[redacted]
In April of this year we were contacted by one of our landscapers that we do work for within our normal service area.  We were asked if we could send one of our trucks and a crew to the other side of Snoqualmie Pass and do a job in the town of Ronald.  At that time we explained to the landscaper that with our busy schedule the only way we could do that is if we charged what that truck would do if it stayed in the normal service area and worked for the day.  As the landscaper and I began to negotiate numbers it was decided that $3,000.00 would be the number required to mobilize a truck and crew for the day to perform this project.  The landscaper agreed that this was an acceptable price, especially in lieu of the quote he had received to do the yard in sod which was in excess of $8,000.00.
Paul, the owner of Allstar Hydroseeding told me that they  had had projects in our area, specifically, [redacted] which is approximately 15 minutes from our home.  Paul told me that the reason they overcharged us is because we did not schedule our day to spread the hydroseed  at the same time as another job at Suncadia.  If we had known that, we would have selected another day to have the job done.  Sod was never a consideration, so I don't know what a sod bid has to do with anything.
During the original conversation the size of the yard was quoted as 22,000 square feet.  With this information we made the purchase of supplies to accommodate that size project.  Due to the location of the project on the east side of the State we had to order custom seed as t his area has a different growing climate and our standard seed blends would not work.  In addition to the products ordered we had to make an appointment with the City of Roslyn to have a truck inspection preformed in order for us to obtain a water permit and purchase water.  Because we do not perform work in this area we had to spend the extra time and money to secure this water source with the City.
We have researched the process of acquiring supplies for spreading  hydroseed.  Also our landscaper told us that since Allstar does business over here all of the time, they had the seed that was needed for our lawn.
We spoke with City of Roslyn and the Water Department in Cle Elum.  We found you can only get water from Cle Elum; not Roslyn, and both managers there told us that one does not need to make an appointment to get water for the hydroseed, and the only "truck inspection" required was to make sure the truck had the correct nozzle to accept the water.  Also, there is no permit required and the fee to purchase water is nominal, $10.00 per 1000 gal of water.  [redacted] at the [redacted] told us the only trucks they give water to are fire trucks.  He has no idea what Allstar is talking about.  And, a special mix of seed for our area is rediculous..  All it is is a different mix that you can buy at any [redacted].  Kentucky Blue Grass and Fescue and Rye.  and no one ever told us that the mix would be extra or a problem to get.  Allstar is making things up.
Three weeks later after the original phone call with the landscaper, we received a call that the project would be ready to install on May 5.  We make an opening in our schedule and blocked out the day for a crew and truck to head from Monroe to Ronald for the install.  Later afternoon of May 4th we receive a phone call from the landscaper confirming that the project was ready to go, and, somehow it was now only 11,000 square feet.  With the schedule already set and the custom products purchased, we informed the landscaper that this was not standard pricing and the quoted price was the price to do the project  He confirmed that the price was not an issue.
On the morning of May 4, our landscaper was at our property and measured the land again.  He said that he over estimated the land size and that our area to be hydroseeded was only 11,000 square feet.  He called Allstar Hydroseeding right then, it was well before noon, and left them a message that the size of the project was 1/2 of what he had originally said.  Allstar didn't return the call, but must have received the message since they arrived at our house the next day with 13000 square feet of seed to spray.  Our landscaper then hung up the phone and said, "well, [redacted], I just saved you another $1,500.".  We were happy about that, and expected the price would be adjusted to represent 1/2 of the seed necessary.  The statement that Allstar makes claiming that they spoke to my landscaper prior to the application to tell him there would be no reduction in price.  that statement is an outright lie.  My landscaper found out from me 1/2 hour after the seed had been spread, that they ad not reduced the price.
The morning of the install the crew is enroute and most of the way to the job.  We receive another call from the landscaper stating that he was wrapped up in another project and couldn't make it over to Ronald for payment.  I let him know that would not be a problem and we would invoice him like we have in the past.  The landscaper stated that if we gave the invoice to the customer that we would pay it.
If this conversation actually happened, our landscaper would have called us and told us that they weren't taking any money off for the seed.  We would called them off had we known this and our landscaper claims that he didn't know prior to the spreading of the hydroseed that they had not cut the bill in half.  At the time, the landscaper and I were on good terms.
Our crew arrived in Ronald at the day and time requested.  They preformed the install and provided the customer with follow up instructions and answered their questions about caring for the product.  At that time the customer praised the crew for an excellent job.  He was then given the invoice and he expressed no issue with the pricing  He then proceeded to pay fort the invoice with his credit card and thanked our crew for a professional and competent job.
The Allstar crew arrived at least an hour late.  They said that they had trouble getting water.  They told us that Roslyn asked who the landscaper was, who they were getting the water for.  When Allstar told them it was [redacted], the two guys from Allstar said Roslyn told them to "[redacted], and we would never give water to that jerk".  Then they told us they had to drive around to find water and that's why they were so late.  As for the spraying of the hydroseed, it seemed to go well.  The two crew guys were amiable enough and seemed to do a good job.  After they finished and handed us a bill for $3000.00 my wife and I looked at them and told them that this bill was twice as much as it was supposed to be.  After knowing my landscaper had called the day before and cut the amount of seed in half.  We expected the bill to be $1500.  When we told them it was twice as much it was supposed to be, I looked at their blank faces and told my wife that we should just sign it.  It was a mistake and our landscaper would handle this.
Two  hours later we received a call from the landscaper thanking us for making the trip to do the job.  He stated the customer had called and praised what a great job we had done.  At this point we were satisfied that the project was a success.
We don't know if this conversation ever took place, because the next conversation I had with the landscaper that afternoon was that we were charged twice as much as we were supposed to be and that he would fix it.  He said, "after all, [redacted], half the seed; half the price.  that's obvious".
We were satisfied and expecting our refund or adjustment in the credit card payment before they put it through the bank.
The following day a phone call was made to the office and answered by one of our owners Paul J[redacted].  The phone call was from Mr. [redacted] and he was inquiring about the price.  We explained to him how the pricing was determined and that this was not normal service area pricing.  He understood and the conversation ended in a pleasant manner.  The following day Mr. [redacted] called back and Mr. J[redacted] was not available.  Mr. [redacted] proceeded to leave an extremely vulgar  and threatening voicemail demanding money be refunded to his card because he felt he was overcharged.
This conversation took place prior to my landscaper informing me, much to his surprise and chagrin - he had been working with this company for 10 years - that Allstar would be refunding us nothing.  And he could not believe that Paul at Allstar was doing this.  I was trying to massage Paul into not ripping me off.  I was "pleasant" before I found they weren't going to change the price.
This doesn't even get into what one crew member, Jarrod, said about me to the landscaper.  Here's the message I got from the landscaper the next morning after asking Jarrod and the other crew member to make sure they leave me some seed and that I'm not to be charged tax.  Jarrod took that statement from me and called the landscaper and proceeded to freak out at the landscaper about how the landscaper must think they're really stupid.  Here's the text from our landscaper to us after his conversation with Jarrod: "The hydro seeder workers said that u said a bunch of stuff about me saying crap about the hydro seeders keeping a eye on them and that they were shady [redacted] I save u a [redacted] load of money cost on all materials my cost did the best job I could followed threw with what I said in the job and I never said one thing bad about the seed company  have a great day"
My first call to Paul the next morning was about the bill and also why my landscaper is freaking out at me.  What did Jarrod say?  Paul went on to explain to me that Jarrod was having some real issues right now;  that he was marrying a gal who had three young kids, none of them were his, and that Jarrod was going through some real money issues right now.  Paul was apologizing for Jarrod's behavior.  He couldn't understand, either, like "leave me seed and don't charge me tax" why that simple statement was taken to mean that I was calling him an it.  The reason we're telling you this, Revdex.com, is because you should know the incredible drama and unbelievable unprofessionalism we had to go through. Paul also called our landscaper "an[redacted] bigmouth.  This is someone he's been working with for 10 years.  How unprofessional!   And I got nowhere with Paul and reducing his price, because I stupidly signed the bill.  I did not get upset until later the next day when my landscaper called me and told me, I can't believe it but Allstar is not taking any money off the bill. The last thing my landscaper said to me was: I can't believe he's not cutting the bill in 1/2.  When you order 1/2 the seed you should pay half the price.  I've only been working with these guys 10 years.  As you can see, someone is lying and it is Allstar Hydroseeding.  I can't believe they are doing this over $1500.00.
They are trying to convince you, Revdex.com, that Ronald Washington is a foreign country.  They are making it seem that Snoqualmie Pass is on the other side of the world.  As a matter of fact, it is 15 minutes farther from their store than Bellingham, WA.  My friend in Bellingham called for a quote for hydroseed from Allstar.  It was .12 cents a square foot and no trip charge.  Allstar is charging us $1500.00 to go 15 minutes further each way!!  Can you imagine how upset we are?  We would have cancelled Allstar's service if they had told us they were charging us this much money, and they know that.  That's why they didn't contact anyone until the job was completed.
Allstar Hydroseeding makes every effort to make sure all customers are satisfied with our service.  Although we do wish things had not played out the way they did, we do not feel that we have done anything deserving of a refund.  As a result of this transaction we have changed our own policy on how payments are handles.  In the future all payments will originate from the person or company making the order.  Although Mr. [redacted] was the end customer, our first customer was the landscaper that made the transaction in the first place.
Allstar Hydroseeding owes us a refund of $1,500.00.  They owe us a refund because they sprayed
1/2 of the amount of hydroseed they had bid us for initially.  To have not changed the price to reflect the reduction in product applied is outright stealing. Allstar owes us $1,500.00.  And, since we can't speak to them about their result of the spray due to this overcharging issue, I will tell you that their hydroseed contained 40% weeds and we are overseeding their hydroseed spray so that our yard won't be a mass of weeds.  The result was a terrible waste of money and no one should use Allstar Hydroseeding.  If we do not get some resolution, we won't stop.  We will take this as far as we have to to get the proper outcome.  I talked to a hydro seed outfit in Kent, WA, who would have charged us .11 cents a square foot and told us they charge a $200 trip fee.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
AllStar Hydroseeding is lying.  Both Paul and the two guys who came to our home to spread the hydroseed, told us they had a long term relationship with [redacted] at [redacted].
Despite the fact that [redacted] at [redacted] is a terrible person and very unprofessional, [redacted] insisted that we use AllStar Hydroseeding because of his long term relationship with them.
Why else would he use someone who says they don't do business in our area?  We have a telephone message from [redacted] at [redacted] Landscaping telling us that our issue with AllStar was hurting his ten year relationship with them.
AllStar Hydroseeding admits in this last response that we, the [redacted]s, deserve a refund, but that we should get it from [redacted] Landscaping.  We paid $3000.00 directly to AllStar Hydroseeding, so they
are the ones who should be giving us the $1500.00 refund.
Revdex.com, if you just made one phone call to [redacted], you would hear the truth about the longevity of the relationship between these two companies.
The only way this is going to be resolved is if AllStar refunds us the money that they overcharged us, and then we will move on.  AllStar blames all of this on [redacted].  All AllStar had to do was call us ([redacted]s) to explain the situation to us, but failed to do so.  They certainly could have taken the time to clear up any misinformation they received.
Sincerely,[redacted]
