All Star Roof, Siding & More, Inc Reviews (7)

Friday Evening, September 9th, my project manager and I went to see him.  We went over all the concerns that he had.  We told him the decking and flashing will be repaired.  There were only 3 spots that the wood was broken underneath.  These are slats so when they put the nail...

down it is normal for some cracking to go on, but we will fix it.Also, we will have a Chimney Company come out to reflash chimney since he was not happy with our process!Sincerely,Thomas A. M[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
There were many, many problems listed in my complaint against All Star, from job #1. I am sorry if Tom was hurt that I felt he was deceitful and dishonest....why not apologize for the 5 months of problems? Tom never did. Ironically, after All Star receives my complaint, just tonight he sent someone over about the fence but with the warmer weather thawing the ground and the rain on top of that the ground is a soggy mess and the fence can't be fixed today; which I totally understand however, when the siding was completed in November maybe it wouldn't have been an issue then. I am requesting a copy of the invoice from the company that All Star ordered my shingles for my roof. I would like to see the date and time the shingles were ordered. If you go back and read my complaint, I attempted to get out from under this company because of the 5 week delay from the time All Star got my first $8500 check. So if this company feels they are NOT dishonest then lets start with that invoice and knock the problems out one at a time. Seem silly? Well if they were truthful through this process then the truth can be proven with documentation. What is the explanation on the siding taking 5 weeks? I am fine with work being done on my house and listening to banging from 10am to 3pm when the one worker showed up but not for a period of 5 weeks...4 and a half to be exact. Having to keep my blinds closed and breakers being popped because he probably hit a wire. And yes, I was home MOST of that time considering I had 22 days of vacation and PTO days to use....not pleasant. Those are just additional details that I didn't mention in my already long complaint. Then there is the documented text message that said DO NOT DO THE GUTTERS and they showed up anyway and did the gutters. Tom said it was best to text him so that is how we communicated most of the time.If Tom wants to say that he WAS NOT dishonest, deceitful and misleading to me about the last payment of $2700 from my insurance company then that would be his choice (I think it was his way of avoiding the uncomfortable conversation that he wanted to avoid) but do NOT change my words concerning that I said my friends get the money etc. What was said is I have talked to people that said companies can give them the discount. And they can if the company wants to. HOWEVER, Tom at All Star, you totally glossed over the point. You led me to believe that I was getting the discount because I did the 3 jobs and that the final check would be my discount because I said, and I quote, "can I pay you the $500 ded OUT OF THE CHECK when I get it" and you replied "YES". When you told me about the discount (which I never knew about before this conversation) I also mentioned that the discounts kind of helps with all the issues...meaning that I was NOT going to do the gutters but since you did them anyway that makes 3 jobs and now there is a discount etc, etc,,,, Because if you will remember we discussed the gutter issue and I said I sent you a text not to do them, then you said "I don't remember that" but I have your texts saying you were trying to call them to stop the work when I told you they were here...remember?   I also am not asking for the full $2700 because I want to pay the $500 deductible that I planned on paying from December until the end of Jan. when the final check finally came. When I read thru all the other negative comments (which I am disappointed in myself that I did not find them before hiring All Star) I read that "Tom accused so and so of wanting a big settlement", "weeks and weeks go by with no communication", "when you ask for your money back then work starts to get done",....all ...ALL of which I experienced too. Like when my garage door was damaged. I just wanted it repaired so I could open and close it as it had always done the 8 years I lived here and I had to go thru the sub-contractor, go thru Tom, back thru the sub-contractor and back thru Tom to finally get some of the repair cost taken off my bill and not one time did anyone apologize for any inconvenience to me, not one time. I will wait for a final response before I file the lawsuit because I would rather send you the $500 I owe you and be done. Think about it and let me know. Have your attorney call me since you mentioned one, that is fine BUT submit the shingle invoice from the company with the date and time it was ordered from the company.  I definitely want to see that. Lawsuits are a matter of public record so see if I take people to court randomly because I'm looking for a big settlement....there aren't any. Shame on you.

[redacted] keeps mentioning discounts that the insurance company pays homeowners.  This is something she has made up.  I told her all along that the $2,700 is contractor overhead and profit, that is why the insurance company wrote the check to both All Star & [redacted].  She told me all of her friends make at least $2,000.  I told her that was illegal but she says it is not.  I also told her to call her insurance adjuster but she didn't want to do that either.  What she wanted to do is to pay her deductible of $500 from All Star's $2700 (contractor's overhead and profit).  We did over 300 jobs in 2016 and never has anyone mentioned about getting a "Discount" from their insurance company for work WE did.  They pay ALL STAR (CONTRACTOR) not the homeowner.  After I explained it to her and showed her in the contract and also invited her to clear it up with her insurance company she continues to go on the path of "Discounts."  Unfortunately I had to turn this matter over to my attorney.  There is nothing more I can do if she won't pay us what is owed.  All the work is completed - yes it took longer then we expected, but it was all done professionally.  I also upgraded her roof and gutters at no additional costs.Sincerely,Tom M[redacted]
