All Star Gutters improperly installed gutter protection system on my house. They promised to fix it but never did.All Star Gutters installed a gutter protection system on my house on October 3, 2013 for $505. I paid with a check #995.During the winter of 2013-2014, the gutter protection screens on the sunroom got all bent and torn by the heavy snow (I have images). I called and emailed the AllStar Window & Gutter President [redacted] several times over the summer and fall of 2014, and he promised to fix the problem, but never did. (I have the emails)Desired SettlementI request that AllStar Window & Gutter removes the damaged screens, cleans the gutters and installs new screens properly or compensates the cost of this.Business Response After examining damage to the 15 ft. run of gutter covers, it was determined that due to the metal roof on this 3 season room, the ice in the winter is sliding down the metal roof, witch led to the gutter screens being torn off. An alternate type of gutter screening was determined to be more suitable for this particular, custom gutter on the 3 season room/ Brady room. All old screens have been removed, gutters cleaned, and new replacement screens installed. We left receipt at customers address, although have not spoken with customer recently about this issue. We apologize about the delay in this matter/ weather/ season/ circumstances beyond our control. We hope this satisfies Mr. [redacted]. Sincerely, [redacted] All Star

Company was hired to install gutters. The installed gutters do not collect water from the roof and rain water leaks between the roof and the gutters. The company was hired to install gutters on our new home. The work was performed on July 11, 13. WE paid for the work via check in the amount of $531.00 on July 11 and via credit card $500.00 on July 12, 13. On July 12, 13 [redacted] informed me that since this is a new property he can give us a warranty on the gutters. Several days after the installation we noticed that rain water is running between the roof and the gutters installed. The gutters do not collect the rain water properly. We contacted the company, the contractor come out after several un-returned phone calls. Once he took another look at the gutters he informed my husband that there is an issue with how the roof was finished that is causing the leak. He stated that he will come back and fix the issue, however we need to pay additional money for material. He was to come back and fix the issue on a Saturday ( I believe the date was 8/10/13) however, we had prior arrangements that we were unable to cancel. My husband left the contractor a voice mail stating that that particular Saturday will not work and that we do not feel that we should have to pay for additional material to fix the issue and to contact us to discuss another time for him to come back. We have not heard back from anyone since that happened. We have left several messages on the companies voice-mail, cell phone number. We also e-mailed the company through their website asking for contact on 8/27/13. The last voice-mail that we left was on 9/3/13. We have not heard back from the company. Desired SettlementWe want the company fix the gutters so they work properly. We do not feel that we are responsible for the cost of any additional material since we were told that there is a warranty on the gutters. Additionally, if we were told during installation that there is an issue with the roof we would gladly pay additional material cost to fix the issue or contact the builder and have the builder fix the roof. However, nothing was said about any issues with the roof until the contractor was made aware of the issue with the gutters. All we are asking for is to have the gutters fixed so they work properly. Business Response I did they re gutter installation, after I did the neighbors house, wich is identical to they're house. the neighbor did not need drip edge( drip edge is a roofing element and has nothing to do with gutters).all of the gutters and downspout were installed properly, but after a rain, I was informed that they where getting some dripping behind the gutters,( this is a cause of the roofers improperly installing shingles/ drip edge/ didn't overhang the shingle enough)and I told them I could fix the problem, they just have to pay for materials, and I would take care of it, within a week or two.I was out of work for a week because of illness, so it has been maybe three weeks or so.I did not quote them in the estimate for drip edge, because due to the new construction of the house, their is no evidence of water running down facia, and the neighbors house did not have any such problems, and was built by same contractor, and is almost identical to theirs. if I had suspected that this would have been an issue, I would have brought it to their attention, and included it in the estimate. I don't believe I am responsible for fixing the roof/ drip edge problem at my expense. I gave them a very fair price for the gutters and even gave them an extra %10 off. I can fix the problem for a minimal charge of $100, in cash. cash only because of the dispute I am weary of taking a check. I hope this can resolve this problem, and just want my customers to be happy.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I contacted the builder ([redacted] there is no issue with the roof. I also contacted another gutter company who informed me that there is no issue with the roof and a drip edge should have been installed initially to ensure no dripping between the wall and the gutters. As a professional gutter installer All star gutters should have included the cost of materials in their price. We agreed on a price for properly functioning gutters which we did not receive. I do not feel I need to pay any additional money.
