I totally agree with what was said. The main factors I complained is the fact that several weeks had passed since her call. I called her twice since and she never returned my call. I just wanted to see if she had met her dollar amount to get the paint shipped free. She never addressed not calling me back on my calls. The guy that did the remodeling and the one that will pay her has not returned my calls either on completion of his job. So, I figured he probably told her not to finish the tub repair. If she would have just called me back to discuss some of this--I would never have turned this into the Revdex.com. So, I guess we will just have to wait for the correct color of paint to complete the job--whenever that might be. I don't feel like I can call her to discuss anything because she never answers and you leave a message to call and she never calls you back. Very frustrating I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. See above note!!!

I am responding to complaint ID [redacted].  I was called by a contractor who had installed a new bathtub into an existing bathroom that he was in the process of remodeling.  The contractor had chipped a small piece of the porcelain off of the back edge of the bathtub and instead of...

having to replace the bathtub, he called me to see if I could repair it.  I went into the homeowners home and repaired the chip.  The final stage of repair is to spray over the filled area with a manufacturers matching paint, this tub is white and I carry several different brands of white, but each manufacturer has their own shade of white that they use and I do not have this specific manufacturers brand of white.  While finishing the repair I spent a lot of time working with the whites that I do carry trying to get the color of white to match just as closely as I could get it.  When I was leaving the house I told the homeowner that I did get the color to match just as closely as I could, but that I would like to be able to come back at a later date with the true manufacturer color whenever I'm able to get it and do a quick spray over of what I've already done, I want my repairs to be as perfect as I can get them and the way that I make sure they are is to use the actual manufacturer colors that are available to me.  The damage on this tub has been repaired and sprayed, it did look completely acceptable when I left, I just want to go over it again quickly with the true original color for my own piece of mind more than anything else.  I have not charged anyone for any of the work that I have done and I don't intend to do so until it is 100% completed to my satisfaction, I have taken no money nor have I asked for any money for the time I've spent on this job so far. When I left the homeowners house I told him I would contact him at a later date to come back and do the quick re-spray of the area whenever I'm able to get the correct manufacturers paint.  He called me a couple of weeks later to see if I had gotten the paint and I called him back and explained to him in detail that I do not have the paint yet, this is a specialty product and the company I order from has a minimum order amount, I have to order a certain dollar amount of product before they will send out my order or I get charged the minimum regardless of how much I've ordered.  I also have to pay shipping, and since this is paint that I am ordering there is a hazardous shipping charge that is added to all orders as well.  If I ask the paint company to send me just the small bottle of paint that I need, I will end up paying more for the paint than what I am charging to do the entire job.  I told the homeowner I will have this special paint sent to me whenever I can add it in with my normal regular order, I have to pay all of the shipping charges and hazardous shipping charges no matter how big or small my order is so it is to my advantage to order as much product as I can all at once.   Again - this tub has been repaired and sprayed already, I only mentioned going over it again with the true color for my own piece of mind. I have not charged anyone for the work I have done so far and I have taken in no money, so it is in my interest as well to get this job completed to my satisfaction just as quickly as I can.  This is how I make my living and I have no reason to have work that is outstanding, just waiting for me to collect.  I promised the homeowner that I would contact him about coming back just as soon as I have the paint that I need in my hand, and that is absolutely what I intend to do.  I would also like to add, again, that this bathtub has been repaired and the color that is on it is a very close match, the only reason I mentioned coming back at all is because I want to use the true manufacturer color that was intended for this tub.
