I am emailing you in regards to the complaint ID as referenced above.I have attached our email conversation in addition to the significant image that the customer sent us.In the first Image “Saddle Wear” shows that the stitching is well intact, exposed by the uneven wearing by the riders imbalance at the top of the saddle. The 2nd image “Saddle Wear 2”shows the wear is uneven on the top of the saddle, more pressure being applied by the rider on the left side of the seat.My further comments, in addition to the email conversation attached areThis saddle may have been used by more than just the year old childIt is not uncommon for trainers to have others ride the horse with the clients saddle, or for someone to have used the saddle on a regular basis without the owners knowledge.I do not know who the trainer is, or where the barn is, or what the policies of that barn are, or even if anyone knew whether the saddle was being used by othersThe fact that the horse was laid up (under R & R) most likely from an injury, tells me that the owner was possibly not at the barn often enough during that month period when anything could have happened.I agree with [redacted] that this kind of wear is unlikely to have happened as a result of a lb rider riding occasionally in jeans, but the bottom line is that this issue is definitely a WEAR issue as opposed to a defect in the saddle. How it wore that way, or who wore it down unevenly is going to remain a mystery it think, and wear is not covered under any saddle warrantee as it is a natural occurrence on leather products and cannot be controlled other than by the end user.I’m guessing that the mom & dad are not being told the entire story, but when they saw the saddle they immediately assumed it is a defect of the saddle and no fault of the child or the barn management.I have been in the Equestrian business for most of my life, the last out of years as a barn manager, and I have seen many situations of this typeA few saddles with uneven wear that can only be patched, in addition to people using other people’s tack, with and without permission. It’s possible that the child outgrew the saddle, and when they went to sell it they found out that it is not saleable due to the damage on the seat, and the cost of a new saddle of [redacted] is a minimum of $(most are well above that price point)The saddle the customer purchased in was manufactured by [redacted] no later than Saddle prices on this quality category have increased significantly since 2008/2009.I hope I have shed some light on the situation. Please feel free to contact me again with reference to this claim

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  as I am very upset with the lack of quality in the [redacted] saddle the way they have handled this problem is terrible.  When I first called I was quickly told its from jeans.  When I explained that jeans are not worn in the saddle I was then told its from lack of care, leather conditioner and leaving in the sun.  Again that never had happened as I try very hard to take care of things.  Now in the response they submit through you it is stated an 100 lb child didn't do this but others using her saddle with or with out permission.  Again if I had been asked you would know this is not the case either as I trailer my horse for my daughter to work with her trainer.  The saddle is never left behind and as they stated with the horse being on R&R for 6 months we weren't around to over see.  That's all wrong as we are at the barn a min of 6 days a week and some days 2 times a day.  Again jumping to excuses with out asking facts.   I have tried to talk talk to different tack stores (3) and talked to people at [redacted] along with people at IEA shows this winter.  And everyone tells me I have a defective saddle that [redacted] should correct. since they stated they have grown up with horses so much they will be able to fully understand how I as a customer am completely unhappy and will be announcing to all trainers/advisors/parents/tack shops/barn owners/ and future possible customers of this response from a Professional within the Greater Cincinnati tri-state area.  If such a pro, should know just how big this horse world is in this area...  Also, I never intended to resale this saddle as it is a 17 inch and my daughter is 13 at 5 ft 5 the saddle is perfect. I would like the manufacturer to warranty their product by having a new seat applied or sending me a new saddle free of defects.lets stop giving excuses that I can prove not valid and back up their product!
Regards,
