All-Terrain Heating & Air Conditioning

I used Mr. S[redacted]'s services to replace a bad compressor covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Mr. S[redacted] was in the process of replacing the compressor late at night but ran out of the gas needed to weld the pipes together. He tried to use my neighbors blow torch to weld it but it didn't work because it wouldn't get hot enough. It only heated the metal up and made it brittle. Plus, he was trying to weld without using flux, which from what I understand, is nearly impossible.
The next day he came by while I was at work and finally finished welding it together as was discussed. This was on a Friday. By Saturday I noticed my AC wasn't blowing as cold and the compressor sounded irregular. We called him and he came out and charged the system with Freon again. By Monday, my AC was running non-stop to cool my house to a mere 77 degrees and it wasn't blowing as cool. After voicing our concern to Mr. S[redacted] his response was to wait a week for things to "level off" but this didn't seem to feel right. I trusted my gut and had Bodine Scott come out and check for leaking Freon. Sure enough, they detected a Freon leak. Upon closer inspection, a large crack could be seen on the weld that he had done on the compressors metal piping. When I let Mr. S[redacted] know that Bodine Scott had inspected the AC unit for leaks he stated that now any kind of warranty he offered would be voided even though Bodine Scott hadn't even tampered with any equipment. They only used a piece of test equipment to detect leaking Freon by holding it next to AC unit. He became offended by me having to have another company check his work, but as I had stated earlier, I had a gut feeling that he didn't do the repair properly. My gut was right. I was initially going to have Mr. S[redacted] fix his repair but after I seen how he reacted I resolved to never use his services again.
I am very disappointed with this person and do not trust their capability to properly weld a compressor. I like to support our small business owners in the Corpus Christi area but I felt compelled to warn others about this company's poor workmanship so they do not have to go 4 days without AC and pay out $500 only to find out the work was done poorly and additional repairs would be needed.
I have video surveillance, text messages, invoices, and pictures to corroborate these assertions being made should anyone question the validity. I sincerely hope that in the future Mr. S[redacted] takes the time to properly weld a compressor instead of cutting corners and doing a poor repair.
