Review: In 2009 I was referred to All Thermal Insulation, Inc. for blow-in insulation in the attic of our home. After receiving favorable responses from references given, All Thermal Insulation, Inc. was asked to add to my home attic insulation to increase efficiency and save energy through heating costs. The All Thermal Insulation personnel arrived in a timely manner and completed the job as agreed. At the time I was assured by workers that all insulation was installed in correct quantity and properly placed. The attic access portal was placed in a closed position and the job was considered completed. The estimate was dated 9/9/2009, and the invoice was paid 9/29/09.In January 2015 I asked a licensed professional electrician to verify to proper installation of electrical wiring in the attic of our home. He was also here to correct a wiring issue for outlets in the basement. Upon opening the attic portal, which had not been opened since All Thermal Insualtion, Inc. workers had closed it in 2009, the electrician told me "You have bad mold in your attic". The mold can be seen by looking up through the portal, but I climbed the ladder and personally looked around and verified that there were black and gray growths on the plywood roof sheeting in the attic. I asked the electrician to close the access lid.SERVPRO, a mold eradication company, was contacted and [redacted] came to my home and accessed the attic through the portal lid. [redacted] verified there was mold in the attic. Insulation stops were not installed on the 14 eave vents as mentioned on the All Thermal Insulation, Inc. estimate. He closed the attic lid and agreed to submit a written estimate to remove the mold. [redacted] verbally stated that the cost would be "about" $3000.00. Our home files had the paperwork from All Thermal Insulation, Inc. [redacted] was called, and she stated the license for the company was not renewed on 2012, the company was closed, and I could not collect anything from her or anyone else.Desired Settlement: I have been told all the roofing will have to be removed, the roof plywood sheeting, and the old insulation. Then all must be replaced after mold remediation is completed.I think the owners of All Thermal Insulation, Inc. should pay for all necessary repairs due to the mold. This house will forever have the requirement to be reported as "once having mold". This will affect the value and whether or not it can b sold.
