Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] has not shown why he has not returned our requested fair deposit amount [redacted] indicated that we have met approxnine times, which may or may not be true However, we will say that the scope was changed due to the complexity of the project, which can be typical During the latter of those meetings [redacted] consistently gave us great concern with his ability to do the project In the beginning we asked for actual roofing examples , never provided We asked for a revised contract in a timely fashion, it was not provided We asked for cost estimates based on proposed scope changes in a timely fashion, it was not provided All and all we continued to work with [redacted] ***, the final concern for us was when [redacted] sent a separate roofing company to our house, which up to that time he told us his company would be doing the job, this was supported by him pulling the initial roofing permit from the Township of [redacted] To compound our concerns [redacted] indicated that he paid approx$for that roofing permit Upon calling the Township we found out that he paid substantially less for the permit and didn't even file for Senior Citizen status During our last project meeting, [redacted] came with a revised contract which indicated what he spent to date (which was less that our deposit) and asked for more money before he could order any materials It was clear to us after that meeting that [redacted] was not a contractor that we trusted to complete our project [redacted] indicated in his response that he turned down several confirmed projects and that he was forced to return to previous employment He is running a contacting business in NJ and do not understand what those statements have do not with returning our deposit All of the following and more is documented and will be provided at the appropriate time , as required Regards, [redacted] ***
Hello, ** *** I received a notice from your office in regards to *** ***. I received a deposit of $9,on a total job cost of $25,on August 13,and a few days later I was
instructed not to purchase any materials due to a change in the scope of work to be done. We met once a week for approximately nine weeks with no determination as to the scope of work to be done. There is documentation of each meeting lasting approximately 1-hours ( everything before or after a face face meeting is also documented via text messages)For Three months of nothing but meetings and changing the scope of work several times, I called *** *** and told him we needed to really move ahead on this project before it gets cold, ** *** agreed . I told ** *** that I would be sending a roofer by his home to give me an estimate (everything was fine) The roofer ( * *** *** ***) arrived before I did and was talking to Ms *** ***Later that day a sudden change in *** *** voice accrued for the first timeHe told me that He heard bad things about me and he needed a few days to think things over, which I'm sure came from the roofer who obviously wanted the job for himself because the next day his truck was spoted at *** *** home. I have never done business with * *** *** ***, they were only suppose to give me an estimate.On 10-31-I received a termination letter requesting a refund of $6,Within business days, reasons for terminating the contract was that he felt uncomfortable when he was presented with the change order and new payment schedule, when clearly he changed the scope of work to be done via text messageDue to the magnitude of *** *** job I turned down several confirmed projects to do his projectDue to *** actions I was forced to return to my previous employment with *** ***
