Review: Review: We called this company to fix a leak in our house originating at the chimney. The first estimate was okay, but over the next 2 weeks, the owner came back 3x to collect more money, claiming that the problem/damage was "more extensive" than he realized. In total, he charged more than 4x the original estimate and insisted on having the entire payment up front. He claimed the chimney needed new parts; when the parts arrived, he called to tell us, but never installed them. He constantly missed appointments and never gave us finalized paperwork, despite numerous requests. The first estimate for the length of the project (1 week) was also off by miles--that was in early May 2014, and we fired him in late June. At one point, the tarp-covered frame he left in place on the roof before disappearing failed during a rainstorm. The leak inside the house grew far, far worse from this mishandling, and cost $1600 to repair (homeowners insurance claim)--far worse than the original. We called him numerous times since that leak and he never came by even to adjust the tarp, let alone complete the job. When we did hear from him, we nearly always heard a "dog ate my homework" excuse--one day he didn't even bother with an excuse and said that he'd forgotten our appointment that he made the day before. In the meantime, we had only a leaking tarp around a chimney frame on the roof. We had ladders, construction trash, and plywood piled on our patio for weeks. Finally, we gave up and fired him, told him to come by for his equipment and to clean up the trash, and then never to contact us again. We informed him that we were reporting him to the Revdex.com, the PA attorney general, and the county consumer protection bureau. He never returned for his equipment, nor did he ever clean up.We've found FOUR legal findings against him in [redacted] County Magisterial Court, two of which were in 2013 (8/26/13 and 3/8/13).Desired Settlement: Desired Settlement: We want a REFUND of the nearly $10,000 he took from us, and we want him out of business permanently so he can't scam another homeowner. At present, he simply changes his business name (we've found 3 so far) and starts over with another construction license, company name, and unsuspecting homeowner.
