Worse experience
Ernest the owner is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. He destroyed my neighbors fence and refused to come to a fair agreement to replace it or FIX it! He yelled at my husband telling him it’s not his responsibility to fix it. Definitely wished I would have read reviews before hiring this guy

Firewood For Sale
Public service warning:
I am a war veteran with PTSD and burn firewood for therapy. I find it relaxing. This company not so relaxing. Craigslist had an ad showing location in Wethersfield (local for me) and listing for multi cord/prices included. Ad also stated processor set at 16 inches. (great... my preference) No company name included (Red Flag) I ordered two cords of seasoned, 16 inch firewood to be delivered at 1400-Friday 08Nov 2019. I agreed to $480 for a price. I left work early to receive delivery, IM messaging the contact...two hours late, the delivery arrived. Ernest (Owner) complaining of traffic. He was delivering from East Hartford. Different location of Craigslist ad. (red flag)
He open the truck's tail gates to show a neatly split, stacked, 16 inch row of wood with rest of stack filling the bed. He dumped the load where I wanted all the while he was teling me how good the wood was and that it was clean from all the chips he would normally have if his conveyor was working. He had to hand load the stack. I paid cash as agreed and off he went.

I spent Veterans Day weekend stacking this wood and found 2/3 thirds was 18 inch, 1/3 third 16 inch with moisture "average" of over 30 %. (Red Flag). Seasoned wood is 20% or less. I won't be able to burn this wood till next season. Also buried under it all was a pile of punky/insect ravaged junk wood and large chunks that will not fit my stove door or box. (Red Flag) and the 4x4x16 pile (2 cords total size) I was stacking was short about 1/2 cord of spilt wood. (Red Flag). No refund, no 1/2 cord 16 inch split seasoned wood for replacement. No contact. My research with Allagash Tree Service provided other unhappy comments/reviews. Other customers can learn from my experience and steer clear from this "third generation logger". His pappy and grand pappy can't be proud. I have the unpleasant experience, he has the money. Be advised he’s done this to others.

Updated review
Owner responded to my complaint and won't take responsibility of his crew nor product. He will allow me to order more firewood from his company. This is his idea of customer service. Ridiculous.
Would any reasonable person patronize his company's services? He’s potentially going to hurt someone who depends on burning wood for heat this winter and gives the business a black eye.

I am rejecting this response because:The owner is not actually telling the complete storyComplaining about how long it takes me to stack a so called cords of wood has nothing to do with the quantity of wood I receivedAnd the owner refused to dump the 1/cord of wood that he brought on his truck on 25Octinstead of fulfilling the original orderAfter he left (and also refused to give me a receipt for the original order), II received a text (which I retained) in which he stated "Wood is wood", which to me meant that all of the waste wood that he dumped with the original load should have me me happy with his delivery - no, not so fast.The majority of wood that was left on my driveway on my driveway from his initial delivery was waste wood, not stackable woodI have waited long enough for this "business" to make good on the original orderAnd all that is being said is "How difficult can someone be?"This is the same so called legitimate business that REFUSED to give me a receipt for my cash paymentEnough!There is nothing here to accept, just ramblings of the business owner. He also fails to mention that when he texted me on 06Novand wanted to drop off a 1/cord of wood, I informed him that I had already ordered another cord of wood from a different supplier, which for general information was stacked days after receiving itI did not want him on my property due to the fact I do not want someone on my property with only the intent of arguing with me.It is my understanding that the owner of this business does not seem to want to settle this as I want - he would rather argue thisThere seems to be little logic here.I will continue with my plan to submit a complaint to Consumer Protection as I have given this business more than a generous amount of time to make good on this order from SeptemberI also think just the fact that I was refused a receipt from a registered business may interest them.I stand by my original request: $refund.In closing, this could have all been rectified on 25Octif I had been given the balance of the 1/cord of wood that in my opinion I did not receiveEven my neighbor was surprised at the amount of waste wood that was part of the supposed cord load that I got from AllagashNever again

cords of wood as customer requested . Over a month later customer complained about the amount of wood , and that it was short I asked if he had stacked all the wood ? He answered " yes " A few days after that I stopped over customers residence with a half of a cord on my truck . The wood that I dropped off in the driveway over a month ago was not all stacked He had stacked about a Cord an a half The rest was still in the driveway The customer was very rude , so I left A few days later I decided to relinquish just to make the customer happy I texted customer telling him that I would drop off a Half a Cord of wood whenever it would be convenient for himHe stated that he did NOT want me on his property and he wanted a refund . I am not necessarily complaining about how long it took the customer to stack the wood although it was over a month but the fact that all the WOOD was not stacked when I got there ? After he said it was ? . Afterwards I relinquished to drop off a half of cord of wood to make the customer happy and to give him a receipt , Promptly .   With that being said  , I have not refused him a receipt or wood , I refused him to berate or belittle me or my business  . This is something that he has a problem with . For him , the amount of time is no big deal over a month  ? but for me no chance to make this right ?   If he wants to continue not having me fulfill my end of the bargain and continue to complain and go to Consumer protection so be it.  I am sure they will give me the opportunity to see the wood stacked and measured and to fulfill the balance of the order , if need be .   Sincerely, Ernest J[redacted] East Hartford, CT 06118 ###-###-####

Review: I hired the company the cut and remove two trees from my property, the company cut and never removed the trees, I contacted then several times with no answer.Desired Settlement: I want them to come back and finish the work.
