This is classic bait and switchThe issue is they are misleading consumers like me by telling a homeowner that it costs $to rod a sewer line and then charge $at the end of service, never mentioning along the way that they would be charging more because their error (their equipment got stuck) and they left it there more than hours so I had no use of my drivewayI did not mention the foundation wall repair because that was only $of the $bill and is not in disputeI am not even sure if the two men who worked on my job are licensed plumbersThey were deceitful and that is why I have Revdex.com involved

New owners expensive, unattentive and mostly use les experienced staff

After years of satisfactory service, our most recent experience was unhappy. First Allan E. Power now charges high fixed prices for minor jobs. The job was not performed satisfactorily. In dismissing a complaint, we were told that we should have been charged more.

foundation wall when it was raining out. We explained to you that this should be fixed properly but we could put epoxy in the area that was leaking and it should help temporarily. The second problem was that your sewer was backed up and the catch basin at your house was full of toilet paper which indicated that it was most likely backed up for a while. After rodding the line multiple times with no success our rodding cable got caught in your already broken sewer line. This was impossible to tell before we started to rod out the sewer line. We were not able to put a sewer camera in the line before we rodded it because the line was backed up. We came out the next day because we did not leave your house until 8:30pm in our efforts to clear your broken sewer line. We retrieved the cable and informed the owner that the line was broke and needed to be dug up and repaired. We explained to the owner that we would credit the charge of $540.00 if they went ahead and had us make the repair. The manager that went out there gave the owner a price of $3600.00 less the credit of $540.00 would have brought the repair to $3040.00. After the manager explained to me the homeowners situation with the house being sold already and that they did not want to sink more money into a house that they will not own for long, I told the manager to reduce the price for the repair to $2400.00. The manager told the homeowner this info and she explained to him that her husband had decided to have the work done by an Irish company because he was Irish. We hope that the homeowner understands that even though we made a temporary repair on the foundation wall and recommended that they get it fixed by a professional because our temporary repair work came with no warranty that we still charged them for our time which added to the overall cost of the job. We are not willing to give a credit to the homeowner at this time. The owner told us that she was going to dispute the charges on her credit card if we didn't reduce her bill to $300.00, we then explained to her that if she disputes the credit card charge we would be forced to file a mechanics lien on their home. She agreed to pay us our bill in full for the work performed and said she was going on every social media site she could to smear our reputation. So far she went on Yelp and now the Revdex.com. I guess she wasn't bluffing when she threatened us, but we stand behind everything we do and will not be bullied by a homeowner that we tried our very best to help.

This is classic bait and switch. The issue is they are misleading consumers like me by telling a homeowner that it costs $240 to rod a sewer line and then charge $540 at the end of service, never mentioning along the way that they would be charging more because their error (their equipment got stuck) and they left it there more than 20 hours so I had no use of my driveway. I did not mention the foundation wall repair because that was only $20 of the $540 bill and is not in dispute. I am not even sure if the two men who worked on my job are licensed plumbers. They were deceitful and that is why I have Revdex.com involved.

This situation has been discussed in great detail with the customer, we have offered multiple options to help resolve the issue. We asked the homeowner to see a copy of the DVD that she told us she had from the other plumbing company...

which she refused to produce. We offered to have the manager televise the sewer line personally at no charge (which still stands) to verify or dispute what the plumber claimed in regards to the condition of the sewer line. In total we rodded the main sewer line twice on separate dates, hydro-jetted the main sewer line and televised the main sewer line for a total charge of $1200.00 which is exactly the quoted price and every part of the quote was performed through multiple visits. It is still our belief that the sewer line has issues that will continue to cause problems for the homeowner if nothing is done (either roddings or a sewer repair) We performed other work at the home and our working relationship with the homeowner has been great even to the point that we worked in the home without the owner being present (usually indicates a level of trust) We still would like the opportunity to make the homeowner satisfied, but after she demanded nothing less than an entire refund of the $1200.00 and not a penny less, is just not reasonable considering that we did everything in multiple visits that we said we would do. We feel that the homeowners request for a full refund is out of line and we would like the opportunity to have a manager re-televise the sewer line and discuss a reasonable refund after his findings. This was offered to her already, but I want to offer it again.

I repeat. On three separate occasions, three separate employees told me that I would be refunded the money for the jet, which was $1200.00. The whole reason THEY offered the money back to me because they KNEW the jet job was not done correctly. They even included the $1200.00 as a discount in the next quote they had given me to dig up at my foundation wall. Once I informed them I had sought out a different plumbing company, they rescinded their refund offer. They offered me $285.00. At that point I told [redacted] I would settle for $1000.00. To date they have not issued a dime. I never DEMANDED the money until they decided not to keep their promise of a refund too me
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/04/24) */
Once again we asked the homeowner to show us the video of her sewer that she said was recorded from another company as she has mentioned in her complaint, now I understand why she did not drop it off as she promised. She explained to us that the video she had of her sewer line verified that her line was in good condition and that we did not do something right, but as she stated above, the video did show her exactly what we said based on our video inspection which is that her sewer line had severe tree roots and it needed to be dug up and repaired which we gave her a price for if we had to do the work. The fact that the village dug it up for free and fixed it does not mean that the line was in good condition as she tried to tell us, but rather that her sewer line was in bad condition and not worth jeopardizing our equipment further by getting it stuck in the sewer line from the broken sewer pipe. I feel that she has admitted that the line needed to be dug up and repaired in order for her to have a functional sewer line as we told her. As the owner of the company I never spoke with the homeowner regarding this issue or a refund as she is trying to claim I said , which further makes me think that the whole truth is not being told by the homeowner. As a company we are always willing to work with our customers, but not when we are being demanded to do things as I was told by my employees. When I looked at the paperwork that was presented to me from my office, I see that we quoted the homeowner 1200.00 to hydro-jet her sewer line and televise it. The homeowner admits that both things were done, but her issue is about the quality of the work. I will also state that we power rodded the sewer line on 2 other dates and did not charge her for either trip. Based on the prices that others charged the owner for doing both the rodding for $250.00 and televising the sewer for $300.00, I am willing to refund the homeowner $550.00 which equals the total price she paid to other contractors to do the same service we did. I hope that the homeowner realizes that we are a 73 year old company that has been servicing the area the entire time and are willing to work with customers in a reasonable manner to resolve issues.
