This client brought two dogs in for boarding on July 13, 2016. On July 17, 2016, I had my assistant go to the kennel facility and carry Baby, the Yorkie, over to the veterinary clinic where I proceeded to administer some vaccination boosters. Neither my assistant, nor myself, saw or made
any comment about any unusual odor or fecal-caked situation. On July 18, 2016, I spoke with Mr*** He only said that Baby, the Yorkie, had lots of stool impacted around the anus. I explained to him that it is important to keep the hair around the anus short to prevent the stool from getting caught up in the hair. I also pointed out that we offer baths and bath/brush specials at a discounted price for any dogs that board three or more days. He was only interested in getting a refund as he thought it was our fault for not noticing it. As I just saw this dog the day before, and there no fecal matter present at that time, I thought this was ridiculous. Also, why was this not mentioned at the time of pick up? If it were as bad as he claims, surely it would have been noticed at that timeI did some research into his file and he has brought dogs in to be boarded close to times since May 2008, so I know he has seen our discount bath sign in the office. I also showed the complaint to my kennel manager and his first response was that this client complains about something every time they board. Mr***, make sure you do a sanitation clip on your long haired dogs, and take advantage of our discounted groom when you board, as I am sure you will be back.*** ***, D.V.M
