I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The response to my complaint is inaccurate, and I suspect that is worded to make them look like the victim here which is not the case.First: The vehicle was not returned with a check engine light on It was towed back to the dealership after breaking down minutes after we picked it up stranding us on the top of Greentree hill with smoke filling up the cab of the van in rush hour trafficThis was AFTER they had already replaced the frame harness, and AFTER they had my vehicle for three months with a backorder and AFTER they told be it would be fixed in a week or two Keep in mind they had told me to pick it after it broke down on Greentree hill I asked them to drive it around because I didn't want the issue to happen againThey called me the next day and said it failed again and that they would have to get an Isuzu specialist involvedor so days pass ...The service advisor contacted me BEFORE [redacted] offered me a loaner vehicle saying that they had a meeting regarding in my vehicle and that ISUZU would be taking care of the cost of the parts but Isuzu would not pay the cost of any labor but Allegheny Ford would not be billing me anything because of the time frame involved and the multiple attempts to fix the vehicle unsuccessfullySeveral days later [redacted] call me with the loaner offer which I declined since they we offering to pay for the repairI couldn't have been confused and I was clear why I didn't need one , stating how I was happy they were doing the right thing by taking care of the repair given the extenuating circumstances. Finally saying Mr [redacted] was greeted with an obscenity laced tirade couldn't be farther from the truthThe conversation was actually with [redacted] not [redacted] and was very civil and I actually laughed at the thought that they would now asking me to pay a bill that they offered to take care of after keeping my truck for monthsI told [redacted] to have somebody else call me because he was unaware of the situation and did not have direct knowledge of the promise and wasn't even employed when my vehicle was first dropped off in the spring [redacted] called me several days later and left a message with his cell phone number I returned his call an hour after he called me and did not hear back from him I got a letter from their attorney a few days after thatNo threats were ever made although I certainly may have made mention of getting an attorney if we couldn't get the problem resolvedAnd given the fact that they've had my vehicle for nine months promised multiple times to have it fixed only to give me multiple excuses as to what was going on, and then out and out lied to me on several occasions, I would think it would be safe to assume there may have been a few words spoken that I don't allow my children to say but hardly a "obscenity laced tirade"The entire time the only thing I've asked for is to have a civil conversation regarding the facts of the case, instead I get letters from their attorney demanding payment or threatening a lawsuitYesterday I got a statement from Allegheny Ford showing a day past due balance from October, even though they just got it "fixed" at the end of DecemberI suspect they are now trying to show a history of some kind of past due bill for a possible court case. The threats come from Allegheny Ford not from meI have been trying to avoid hiring my attorney to pursue a $case, even though we are very confident I will win if it came to thatOnce my attorney gets involved my conversation stops I'm the one trying to resolve the issue not making threats as this letter claims Certain facts simply can't be disputed:FACTS:I dropped my vehicle off with an accurate description of the problem nine months agoI was given a price to fix the vehicle which then increased after the first attempt was unsuccessful I picked the vehicle up in August, told the vehicle was fixed, only to have a breakdown several minutes later leaving us stranded which had to be towed inI was told to pick it up several weeks later, then was told it broke down again when they test drove it themselves after my request to take it on the highway to test itI got a call December 22nd from [redacted] saying the van was finally ready, months after it being dropped offI have suffered financial hardship during this process , in addition to the downtime and stranding the van on the side of the road, I had to lease a (smaller) van from [redacted] Truck rental at the cost of over $/ month from May until October well BEFORE the offer was made on a loaner van.I can't see how they can argue that I somehow misunderstood THEIR offer to take care of the bill when we had a long conversation about the details of the situation There is absolutely no assumption here it was discussed in-depthWe had no conversation about a muffler or lightbulbs and I can't see how they would possibly be able to charge me for the same harness over and over again when they had yet to resolve the issueSo what exactly was the offer that I misunderstood ?I also can't fathom what person on the planet would allow a repair facility to unsuccessfully attempt to fix a vehicle multiple times and then leave the vehicle there for nine months, without some kind agreement and consideration when it comes to the end billAfter the 4th time and several months the logical course of action would have been to tow the van to a dealer that could successfully do the repairTo be clear, I requested that the owner of the company , a President, Vice President, or someone with authority to contact me I had no intention on arguing my case with a service advisor that has no information on my situation nor has the ability to resolve the problem.I suspect the reversal was due to the fact that they were attempting to sell me a new van during the entire process which I respectfully refused until the issue was resolved I have the emails from their sales person [redacted] to back it up my claimIt appears that Allegheny Ford does not want to discuss a resolution to the issue, nor do they want to make good on THEIR offerHistory dictates I have a valid concern, as any logical person would, and that the vehicle still may not be fixed correctlyI have a valid reason now not to trust that if the vehicle is not fixed correctly I will have wasted additional money as well as nine months of my time and will have to start this process over againTheir offer to pick up the bill resolved that issue which is why I left it there the additional time in the first placeThis is a case of doing the right thing, I'm not looking for a free ride here, I have already made major compromises, and have been willing to discuss a fair resolutionAllegheny Fords' stance is pay this bill or elseHardly what I would call a AAA business !

Response to Complaint [redacted]We did complete the repair as described in the complaint and per attached document # 63962. When the customer picked up the vehicle it came back with a check engine light on. We diagnosed the problem as a burnt frame harness due to a leak at the muffler seam which...

probably caused all of the previous frame harness failures. We ordered the frame harness but unfortunately it was not available for 3 months from Isuzu due to backorder status. Our Shop Manager, [redacted], contacted the customer and offered a loaner vehicle and explained that the part was unavailable (not uncommon for a 2004 vehicle) and promised to install the part as soon as available at no additional cost to the customer. In the meantime, we completed additional diagnosis on the vehicle and replaced the parts on document #64681 at no cost to the customer, as well as replacing the harness, muffler, and miscellaneous lights on document # 64991 for the customer as a goodwill gesture. When our Shop Manager, Mr. [redacted], contacted the customer to tell him that the vehicle was complete and ready for pickup and all that was due was the original amount for the repair of $5678.74 on document number 63962, he was greeted with an obscenity-laced tirade from the customer that ended with a threat that included being contacted by the customer's lawyer. At that point, per our company policy, we contacted our lawyer who wrote a letter to the customer. Our company policy is to make the repair right for the customer, not to do additional work for free and return the amount of the original repair. We expect payment in full by cash or certified check for the original amount of the repair, $5678.84, to release the vehicle to the customer. This incident would never have had any involvement by the owner of our company, nor wilt the owner be involved at this point. The check may have been returned, but to assume that the repair was done for free was a misunderstanding on the part of the customer, we would not expect the customer to pay for the vehicle until it was repaired correctly. We do expect payment for the original repair now as the corrections and additional work were completed at our expense.[redacted]Operations ManagerAllegheny Ford Isuzu Truck Sales Allegheny Truck Body

1/27/2015 Response to ID [redacted]We do not agree with Mr. [redacted]s claims in his letter. Many of his 'facts' are unsupported, inaccurate, and incomplete: - My name is [redacted], and I never spoke with nor contacted Mr. [redacted], unless he is referring to another person here whose name is spelled [redacted] was the only manager whom Mr. [redacted] spoke with, -Mr. [redacted] has not named the person who made the offer of the free repair. -Mr. [redacted] was given an initial estimate to replace one of the wiring harnesses on the vehicle and told that the second wiring harness may need to be replaced, which it did. Several weeks passed between each estimate and final authorization from Mr. [redacted]. -The failure of the second wiring harness repair was due to a leak in the vehicle's muffler, which we would not have seen and which we replaced at no cost to Mr. [redacted]. -The wiring harness took 4 months to arrive because it was on back order status from Isuzu, which was out of our control and not unusual for a 10 year old vehicle. -The offer for a replacement vehicle was made in August, after the second repair and before the delay in receiving the wiring harness from Isuzu. In closing, we are not interested in continuing this debate by letter with Mr. [redacted]. In light of the situation and to avoid any legal fees that will result from this situation, we will reduce the bill by $1000 to settle this dispute. [redacted] Operations Manager

Review: My Chevy 4500 came in to this shop multiple times before July 9, 2014 to address several oil leaks so severe that the truck had to be towed to the shop each time. The final determination from the technician as to what was causing these leaks was a missing mounting bracket on the oil line.

The severe loss of oil over multiple occasions caused the engine that Allegheny Ford had previously installed to fail. After multiple discussions, the shop agreed to replace the engine once again, which was rightfully performed at no cost to me because of the multiple oil leaks due to the previous missing mounting bracket on the fuel injector pump, not noticed by the technicians.

After the new engine was installed the truck continued to leak oil. These leaks were nowhere near as severe as they had been previously but the truck was still leaking oil nonetheless.

On March 13, 2015, with approximately 4,800 miles on the new engine, and having noticed continued oil leaks, the truck was brought back into the shop. At this time, the technician believed to have found the cause of the leak at the oil filter and this was supposedly fixed.

Due to having a 12-month warranty on the truck it was brought back into the shop on June 24, 2015, still leaking oil, at which point I was told that the source of the oil leak was a broken stud in the injection pump itself which required a $4,000 rebuild, which this shop does not have the ability to do and would require the pump to be removed and sent elsewhere for this work to be performed.

At this point, I called [redacted] Diesel, a reputable diesel repair shop in Columbus, Ohio where the fuel injection pump was previously rebuilt to discuss this issue with them. They could not understand why I would be advised to have the injection pump rebuilt due to an oil leak when the correct course of action was to simply fix the leak as the truck appeared to be running relatively well. I requested that Allegheny Ford stop all work, paying $436.85 to have the truck reassembled so that it could be removed from the shop.

I took the truck to [redacted] Diesel, where someone immediately examined the truck and found numerous problems with the vehicle; specifically, fuel leaks and a broken throttle cable. Upon inspection of the fuel injection pump, their technicians noticed a missing mounting bracket and stud, which was in fact a mounting stud, not an internal stud as Allegheny Ford had advised, and clearly should have been repaired under the warranty. In the professional opinion of [redacted] Diesel, the missing mounting bracket omitted by Allegheny Ford techincians is what caused the mounting flange of the fuel injection pump and mounting stud to break. This is noted on the invoice from [redacted] Diesel.

When I asked why Allegheny Ford technicians attempted to sell me a $4,000 injection pump rebuild when the real problem was the mounting bracket that was missing, I was told by the technician that he was simply unable to answer that question. Someone at this shop alleged that the broken stud was my fault, and must have broken due to the long drive to Columbus, which is insulting. The technicians were deficient in not attaching the mounting bracket during my engine replacement(s).

Since these issues were diagnosed and properly addressed at a professional shop, I have experienced no further problems with the injection pump or leaking oil. It is inexcusable that my truck was in this shop as often as it was and no technicians were able to resolve my issues, instead making them worse. I was forced to spend $5,380.53 to have these problems finally addressed elsewhere, plus the $436.85 reassembly fee in order to have the truck removed from Allegheny Ford, so I am requesting payment from Allegheny Ford in the amount of $5,817.38 as reimbursement for these unnecessary incurred expenses. Again, that amount does not include my employee labor or transportation costs back and forth, nor the daily losses in revenue I incurred keeping this vehicle out of service.

As a separate matter that I believe reinforces the technicians’ incompetence, on March 13, 2015 I was told that the king pins on the truck would need to be replaced, which would cost $1,450.00. A local shop greased the king pins, at which point the issue was resolved. The cost for this service was $10.00. Additionally, Allegheny Ford experienced an extreme turnover in service writers, making it exceptionally difficult to establish rapport with someone in the course of diagnosing and addressing these numerous issues.

I believe the misdiagnoses and repairs of Allegheny Ford's service technicians were seriously deficient, and possibly in violation of 37 Pa. Code § 301.5, 73 Pa. Stat. Ann. § 201-1, et seq., and/or other unfair and deceptive trade practice statutes. As I said, my truck has finally been repaired and is operational. I am only seeking the out-of-pocket expenses it cost me to return it to that condition.I am requesting payment from Allegheny Ford in the amount of $5,817.38 as reimbursement for these unnecessary incurred expenses.Desired Settlement: I am requesting payment from Allegheny Ford in the amount of $5,817.38 as reimbursement for these unnecessary incurred expenses.

6/16/2016 Revdex.com Response to Complaint [redacted] In response to this complaint, we deny that the failure was due to negligence on our part Our technician diagnosed the oil leak complaint, the customer then denied the replacement of the injection pump. The failure was due to a mounting stud that had broken off, causing the flange to break. Broken studs on a I5 year old vehicle are not uncommon, the stud failure was not our responsibility. The customer took the vehicle to another facility and had the same work done that we had quoted plus some additional work. We deny any responsibility for the failure caused by a broken mounting stud. 7/25/2016Wheeling Canvas Co.[redacted]Revdex.com [redacted]/Operations Team 400 Holiday Drive, Suite 220 Pittsburgh, Pa. 15220 ###-###-####Re: Allegheny Ford/Isuzu Truck ID# [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted]Thank you for your response letter of 7/1/16, regarding my claims against faulty work by Allegheny Ford. This complaint has not been resolved. Herein is my response as requested. Please note that I do in fact intend to pursue this matter.Clearly it is the fault of Allegheny Ford as documented by expert opinion from [redacted] Diesel in their statement on invoice 3 066326 dated 10/21/2015, where it states that the cause of the crack on the pump adapter plate was due to the fact that Allegheny Ford failed to put back the mounting bracket and stud. (See highlighted area on their invoice)Additionally it is further stated that the neglect of reinstalling that mounting stud ultimately caused the mounting flange to break, thus causing the final damage.Allegheny Ford exhibits repeated incidents where their technicians neglect to install needed brackets, as self evident in their own letter of response to my complaint dated 7/5/16, where they state “our technician failed to install a bracket to secure the oil line that caused the oil leak”. See highlighted area on their statement enclosed-1 believe this shows that the bracket was not installed.See photo of housing that broke and please note that during the 2 engine block changes, Allegheny Ford had their hands removing and installing this housing not once, but twice!I am not saying that the people at Allegheny Ford do only poor work or that they are bad people; I am saying that they did do poor/bad work on my truck and in this case clearly some things were missing thus causing this failure. Please feel free to contact me if additional information is needed in this matter.Thank you for your time and assistance.

Review: A few days before Christmas we (we being our business [redacted]) went to fill our CNG van up at the CNG station like usual. This time there was a problem at the station and it would not fill up the tanks. We thought this was not a problem our usual mechanic could fix so we looked to find someone that worked on CNG fuel systems. Through contacting [redacted] at [redacted] he referred us to Allegheny Ford and [redacted]. We talked to [redacted] and we going to drive it over there however it ran out of gas because we were unable to refuel the van.

We towed the van to Allegheny Ford a couple days before Christmas. We continued to call the weeks after trying to talk to [redacted]. In the first weeks of January he told us he believed the regulator to be the problem and could fix in for about $1000. We thought that was great and told him to proceed with the work. Towards the end of January he called again By the end of January [redacted] said there is a leak here and there and we should get it fixed for around $600. I was happy and confused that the price went down but whatever. Then January turned to February and still no truck. Finally we got a cell phone number for [redacted] so he was at least answering the phone calls. He let us know that he found some more issues and the total would be $1500. By the end of March it was getting a little ridiculous in the length of time. Countless times (throughout January, February and March) we were told we would have it in the next few days and then weeks and months past. We contacted the person that referred us to Allegheny Ford and told him about our experience. He being a person that referred large fleet orders to they was very upset and called over to let them know about the problem. That seemed to get the ball back rolling. We were told by [redacted] that Cindy would be sending a bill over and just ignore it because he still had to finish the work but needed something in the computer. The bill came to over $5000. [redacted] told us to ignore it and he will have it fixed and make it right. When we asked it what dollar amount that is he said "You have my word $1500." Come April, after Cindy kept calling about the bill asking for over $5000 we informed her that was not anywhere close to what we were told no less than one week before and the van was not even ready yet (Brian still needed time).

At this point another manager [redacted]'s boss, Wess [redacted] got involved. He said he'll have the van ready. We came to pick it up and Wess said he took over the department in January and wasn't aware of the work that was being done. The best he could offer was the bill being around $2500. It did not matter what [redacted] said (even though he was the head of the department). It also didn't matter that [redacted] continued to tell us that the price would be $1500. After fighting with this company for months we were just happy to get the van back and paid $2171.36. We drove the van back (stalled once outside of Allegheny Ford), parked it and smelled natural gas right away. We called Wess let him know. He got back to us the next morning and said it was because it was a miss in the engine and not a leak. We took it to our local mechanic who hooked it up to a diagnostic machine and confirmed there was no miss in the engine. We then took it to Chuck Greco who manages a fleet of CNG vehicles and referred us in the beginning. He looked at it stated the leak is coming from the regulator (it was not replaced) and it was coming out enough that you could stick your finger over it feel it easily. The original diagnosis was never fixed. When we told Wess [redacted] this he told us that we declined that repair and he got it up and running. We of course thought that was crazy as that was the only repair we thought was being done. He said he could not fix any leak on a regulator because they did not work on that piece. There invoice tells us a different story as it says regulator was determined to be the problem. They removed it and reinstalled it. During this time Wess would not return our phone calls and made it clear that [redacted] was no longer in a position to fix our problems. Wess finally contacted us thought email after I asked their billing department for a full refund. He declined and did not offer to correct any mistakes. Frustrated and not able to find any other place that services CNG vans in [redacted] we traded the van in to get a new van for less than the cost of the repair because it was leaking natural gas.Desired Settlement: We are looking for a refund because the original diagnosis was never fixed. Work was performed on the van but the main problem was never addressed. Countless promises of the van being ready the next day or very soon caused us rent vans numerous times and pay for the use of employees vehicles. With looking at the invoice we still do not know what we actually paid for. No attempt was made to correct the problem by the business and other excuses were quickly found false by other mechanics.

Response:

6/12/15 Response to Complaint [redacted]The vehicle in question was brought in to our shop as a favor by our Shop Manager, Brian [redacted]. Because we are a [redacted] Dealer we would not have worked on this vehicle in our normal course of business, and it is also an alternative fuel vehicle. We originally quoted Mr, [redacted] $1500 to begin the repairs on this vehicle, which he agreed to. After the repair, it was clear that the vehicle needed more work and Mr. [redacted] declined additional repairs. He did ask us to make the vehicle drive able, which we attempted to do and brought us to the total of $2171.36, Mr. [redacted] complained that the vehicle was not repaired correctly, which of course it was not because of the additional work that was declined. We offered to look at the vehicle again, and Mr. [redacted] provided contact information for Mr. Chuck [redacted]. After at least a half dozen attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] by Brian [redacted] and our Parts and Service Director, Wess [redacted], we were unable to gain access to the vehicle to diagnose the concern expressed by Mr. [redacted]. After months of wasted phone calls, time and energy over a vehicle that we brought in as a favor to Mr. [redacted], we are willing to refund $671.36 to bring the total bill back to the original $1500 estimate. We do not admit any wrongdoing, we are merely trying to make this situation disappear so that we can stop wasting valuable time and energy over a repair that we never should have taken in the first place, and surely will not accept in the future.[redacted] Operations Manager

I asked to speak with you earlier in this process but was not given that opportunity and now we are both wasting more valuable time.Allegheny Ford advertises that they are a certified CNG repair shop. Their website found here [redacted] state: “With one of the country’s only technicians certified for natural gas truck service, fleet managers who have had their time and money wasted elsewhere are flocking to Allegheny Ford Isuzu for proper CNG truck maintenance.”&“Known as an organization on the cutting edge of energy science, the [redacted] Group is globally recognized for its work with alternative fuels and technologies. As such, the organization’s certification for natural gas truck repair is considered the industry’s undisputed gold standard. Though less than 10 individuals are currently [redacted] certified in the United States, Allegheny Ford Isuzu’s Brian [redacted] is proud to be counted among the few.” &“As it pertains to commercial trucks and cargo vans, Allegheny Ford Isuzu services all types of engines and the transmissions to which they’re mated. Whether your fleet runs gas, diesel or CNG, Allegheny Ford Isuzu has years of experience working dynamic solutions for engines of every fuel source.” [redacted] They make no mention that they only service a certain brand of CNG vehicles and when they took the car made no mention that they only service certain CNG vehicles. I do not know why bringing this vehicle in is being perceived as a favor. If this is not a vehicle that you would work on I would suggest in order for this problem never to happen again those pages should be reworded or removed from your website. What do you mean by “after the repair”. I would take that to mean that the original diagnosis was repaired. It was not. Through talking with Brian through this whole process and confirmed by the invoice the original diagnosis was it was a faulty regulator. That is what the estimate was for. At no point did we decline that repair. That would make no sense to decline the thing that [redacted] certified manager Brian [redacted] diagnosed it with. By that train of thought Brian diagnosed it in December then according to you we declined and then we spent the next 4 months making unnecessary repairs. We complained because the van had a strong small of gas when we parked it after we picked it up and drove it about 2.5 miles back to our store. We called Wess right away and took it to our mechanic a few blocks away. We were told my Wess [redacted] after we called that it was because of a miss in the engine. About a week later in an email he stated the regulator was not leaking when it left the shop. Our local mechanic used his diagnostic machine to confirm that there was no miss in the engine. We then took it to [redacted] (another [redacted] certified mechanic) who quickly diagnosed it as a leak coming from the regulator. It happened when power was engaged to the regulator and the leak was strong enough that you can place your finger over it and feel it. While I appreciate the offer to reduce the bill I still have no idea why any of this other work was performed and if it was even necessary. Getting the van up and running should not have been that difficult. The van only had to be towed because it ran out of gas because we could not fill it up at the station (the need for the repair). By refilling the tanks the van would become drivable again. If the original diagnosis was the regulator was leaking I do not know why other work was done. We never refused a repair and never got to talk to anyone other than Brian about the repairs who constantly told us he could repair the van for $1500.

Response:

Complaint ID [redacted]in response to Mr. [redacted]:Brian [redacted], Shop Manager, spoke with Mr. [redacted] regarding a 2002 Dodge with an alternative fuel system. Our internal policy forbids accepting any vehicle for repairs that is older than 10 years. Brian had recently met Mr. [redacted] and accepted the vehicle for repairs as a favor to Mr. [redacted]. Due to the age and poor condition of the vehicle, and the fact that the fuel tank authorization would expire in another year, Brian spoke with Mr. [redacted] who authorized $1500 for an initial diagnosis. After completion of the diagnosis of multiple leaks in the alternative fuel system, Brian made another estimate to Mr, [redacted] of $2500. As the repair unfolded, Brian found even more leaks including the leaking regulator described in Mr, [redacted]'s complaint. Brian spoke with Mr. [redacted] to inform him that the estimate would have to beincreased once again, as other issues, including the regulator, become apparent. This is why we have a policy that forbids repairs on vehicles more than 10 years old, because the repair usually becomes more costly than the value of the vehicle. When Brian spoke with Mr. [redacted] for the second time, he made Mr. [redacted] aware of the fact that his alternative fuel tank would expire and be illegal in a year. Mr. [redacted] was under the false impression that the tank were good for another 25 years, so it was obvious that to continue the repair would be pointless as replacing the tank in another year would be cost prohibitive. Mr. [redacted] asked to have the vehicle reassembled so that it could be driven, and we complied. Mr. [redacted] then called and informed us that the regulator was leaking, which Brian had already made Mr. [redacted] aware of. We asked to see the vehicle, and we were never able to do so because we were never told when and where we could inspect it. Finally, much of the confusion has been created by the fact that Mr. [redacted] is involved as a third party here. We have reduced the bill to what the original estimate was at $1500, even though we have incurred costs far beyond that not including the amount of time spent on this situation by Brian [redacted] Wess [redacted] our Parts and Service Director, and myself. We stand firm at $1500 and this is our final offer.Darryl [redacted] Operations Manager

Review: I purchased a 2005 International 4600 box truck on Sept.19,2013,from Allegheny Ford Truck Sales for $14,900 cash. The vehicle was newly serviced and inspected by them and was presented to me as being ready to be put to work. I took a test drive and visually inspected truck and it appeared in good shape. This is a large diesel powered work truck with a load carrying capacity of over 10,000 lbs., so I was not able to test it carrying any weight.I started working with the truck on Sept.25,and on the following day while at work, the vehicle overheated in State College PA.I took it to a shop and was told that there is coolant in the oil and the truck engine needed rebuilt at a cost between $5000-$10,000,depending on how bad it was when they tore it down.I could not drive it so I rented a car and drove home. When I contacted the dealer I was told that they would help me "minimally if at all". I only had 1 1/2 days of work and 500 miles driven by me since purchased. This truck was ready to die when they sold it to me and I feel the dealer should take responsibility for repairs or take it back. The truck now sits in a lot 150 miles from here in State College because I invested every dollar I had to buy it and cannot afford to have it repaired.Desired Settlement: Refund or pay for repairs.

Response:

The vehicle has been towed to [redacted] in Lewistown PA on Oct 1,2013, where it is currently undergoing an inframe lower engine rebuild. Estimate for repairs is $7500. I would consider an offer by Allegheny Ford Truck to agree to pay 50% of the cost of repairs that are being done to be fair.

Regards,

Business

I have received the offer from Allegheny Truck Sales to pay for half of the cost of repairs to the vehicle that I purchased from them. I would like to accept their offer but I'm unable to respond by using the Revdex.com accept form in the email that was sent to me. Please contact me if anything else needs to be done to accept offer. ###-###-####------ THANK YOU

Review: In January 2013 I contacted Allegheny Ford on the SOUTH SIDE to FIX my Engine over-heating problem; I brought the Truck to them and They Quoted me a price of $1250 to fix it.Upon completion they called me up and I paid them for them for their services. Less than 2 miles down the road the truck starts over heating once again.Instantly I called them back and informed them that my truck is STILL is overheating, so they tell me bring it in and they'll look at it again! They call me back the next day and tell me that its a bad thermometer and it will cost $125-parts and labor...frustrated I comply and paid them.Over the weekend I ran the Truck locally around the neighborhood and it starts overheating again, and now leaking anti-freeze as well. That Monday I call them up, tells them my problem and they say "bring it in". I brought it in, and they develop a new quote of $3000. Over the phone I ask them "don't try to fix the trucks over heating problem, I don't have $3000 dollars, I want my keys back", upon arriving to pick up my keys, they tell me I owe them an additional $125 for trouble shooting the new "$3000 dollar problem"...I explain to them I don't have $125 dollars and this Is a problem that should have been fixed $1375 dollars ago. I refuse to pay $125 or $3000 dollars to a company that cannot guarantee its work. After discussing this matter for about 10 minutes...they still did not give me my keys back. So I storms out of there. (before things get out of hand.)...before I leaves the actual premises the manager flags me down and says "take your Truck and at don't come back"Desired Settlement: OK so the next day I get a quote from another auto mechanic about my trucks over heating problem and he quotes me at $4600. He tells me I warped the head gasket from recently running the engine while hot...I'm asking for $4600-the new repair cost.

Mr. [redacted] brought his 1997 Ford [redacted],

144,554 miles, for diagnosis for a coolant leak, PA state inspection, and Hydraulic

Actuated passenger door inoperative.

We looked at the vehicle 1/21/2013 for the coolant leak and state inspection. Service

Advisor [redacted] called Mr. [redacted] with an estimate for replacement of the

radiator and missing engine freeze plug, and for a multitude of issues including a rotted

floor and sub-frame of the bus body, a failed shifter linkage, front shocks, muffler, and a

needed wiring repair for the rear. With the radiator, the repair estimate was nearly

$5,900; $1200 of which was the radiator and missing freeze plug. Mr. [redacted] was made

aware that with the substantial leak at the radiator and freeze plug, additional testing

would be required. At that time he requested that we did not spend any time diagnosing

the door issue as there was ????????

:~

comprehensive list for PA state inspection.

Mr. [redacted] ok’d the radiator and freeze plug replacement. We made the repairs and

pressure tested the system cold, as there was little fuel in the vehicle for a comprehensive

test drive. Mr. [redacted] declined the repairs needed for PA state inspection. The repairs

were completed January 25~ 2013, however Mr. [redacted] did not pick up his vehicle at

Allegheny Ford until March 11,2013.

After picking up the vehicle,. Mr. [redacted] called and said that he was still having an issue

with an overheating condition, and coolant leaking. We requested that he bring the truck

back for us to check it, and advised him that any replaced parts carried a 12 month,

12,000 mile warranty, and additional repairs would not be covered. Mr. [redacted] had gone

34 miles (144,588) from the time of pick up. We performed a fault code check, found

none, and then a pressure check and found that there was a leak at the hose leading to the

thermostat housing. We replaced the part, only charging labor (as this repair was not

related to the radiator replacement). The vehicle still had no fuel in it, and Mr. [redacted]

would not permit us to put fuel in the vehicle for a test drive.

Mt. [redacted] again picked up the vehicle on 3/14, and called again on 3/19 with a

complaint of the vehicle overheating intermittently. We again asked him to bring the

vehicle in, stating again that any previously replaced parts would be covered under Ford’s

12 month, 12.000 mile warranty. When he returned, he had clocked nearly 200 miles

(144,588 to 144,767). Upon talking to him at the time of write up, he told us that in the

past he had replaced the coolant with only water, and, that was when his issues had begun.

We pressure checked the system and found water leaking from the engine valley. At that

point we advised Mr. [redacted] that the repair would need comprehensive diagnosis, and

potential head or block replacement. Mr. [redacted] returned for his vehicle On April Z”~’, and

refused to pay for the additional diagnosis. After receiving an ok from upper

management, we released the vehicle not charging Mr. [redacted], and requested that he

remove it from the premises.

Review: NPR truck towed in . Upon arrival (april 29th) I explained to the service advisor the exact problem and the fact that I had the vehicle repaired for this particular problem just two weeks earlier. 30 days before I received a call and an estimate (aprox $3K) to do the exact same ($1700) repair as before. I agree to the cost of the repair and another 30 days went by, until they call with a 2nd estimate, ($5600). This time I went in person to see the issue, the SA, showed me a corroded plug at the end of a harness that she said was the cause of the problem. I be grudgingly excepted the estimate with the assurance that it would be fixed next week. Another 60 days goes by, and I get a call saying the truck was done. I went to the dealership to pick up the vehicle and asked what warranty I had for the repair. I was told that the parts and labor were guaranteed for one year. We drove the vehicle approximately 3 miles and was stranded on the side of the highway, with the same exact same problem. Vehicle was towed in and I went back to the dealership. I said that I was not comfortable paying for a repair that was not done correctly and the service advisor agreed and returned my check. Another month went by and was told it was fixed, I asked that they drive it for a couple of miles to make sure it was fixed... IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!, this time while they were driving it.Many weeks went by and a service advisor called and said he had good news and bad news. The Good: Isuzu was going to pick up the parts bill & A/T was going to pick up the labor bill stating how they didn't feel right about charging me since it had been so long and so many issues. The Bad: Parts were on back order and would be a while. I said it was fine since they were going to P/U the cost.I didn't ask for anything for free, but it was offered which is why I didn't have it sent elsewhere.I get a call at the end of (12/23) saying the truck is done and demanding payment.I asked that the owner call me to discuss .Desired Settlement: The service manager leaves me a message the next day saying the service advisor must have misunderstood about them picking up the tab (even though we had a 15 min. conversation about how I appreciate a company standing behind their work and how rare that is and an offer to loan me a truck ) I didn't ask for anything for free, but it was offered which is why I didn't have it sent elsewhere.I returned his call .12/29 I got a letter from their attorney demanding payment or suffer lawsuit

Response to Complaint [redacted]We did complete the repair as described in the complaint and per attached document # 63962. When the customer picked up the vehicle it came back with a check engine light on. We diagnosed the problem as a burnt frame harness due to a leak at the muffler seam which probably caused all of the previous frame harness failures.

Review: I took my 2004 W4500 box truck to Allegheny Ford Service Dept. to have them preform diagnostics for a fuel delivery issue the truck was having. Upon delivering the vehicle on Tuesday Sept. 24, 2013 early in the morning I was told I was 3rd in line and that the 2 ahead of me were already inside the garage so by Wednesday I'd have a diagnosis. Friday Sept. 27, 2013 and I still hadn't heard a word about my truck. I call and ask what is happening with the truck and get told that they still hadn't had a chance to get it inside but they would be soon. Later that day they call with a diagnosis that the computer is bad and I need to replace the ECM and that it would cost $1125.00. I questioned why they felt the computer would cause a fully mechanical fuel injection system to malfunction. Their response was "We are the specialists, that's why you brought the vehicle to us, if you knew you would have fixed it yourself. The system is electronic and that's what it needs." Meanwhile Allegheny Fords own parts department gave me the prices on the injectors for the truck, using the VIN to identify which manufacture parts it required, stating that the injection system on this model was fully mechanical and the parts could be ordered in for me. I declined to have them do any repair and sent a driver to pickup the vehicle, they told me my total was $247.00 plus tax. They charged my driver $256.50 plus tax, tossed them the keys, and didn't tell them where the vehicle was. The driver brought the vehicle back to our location and upon looking inside the vehicle I was surprised to see that the glove compartment was out of the dash and laying on the floor. This prompted me to look closer at the rest of the vehicle only to find that there were other parts of the truck disassembled. Bolts only finger tight on the solenoid compartment with the solenoids hanging down into the engine compartment. Clearly not concerned with my safety or the vehicle would have been given back the way it was when dropped off.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded. I have to pay to have the truck put back together. Their diagnosis isn't consistent with the type of injection system this truck model has. This inconsistency proves that they failed to diagnose anything. Not forgetting that they put my driver's safety at risk by giving back a truck that solenoids where hanging down into the engine compartment. What if they had gotten sucked into the engine and damaged something else causing the truck to shut off or catch fire.

Response:

The actual diagnosis was for an ECM which is the engine control module. The technician connected the factory diagnostic system and received 3 trouble codes pointing to the ECM, and no codes pointing to the fuel system. One of the ways that the ECM impacts the fuel system is by controlling the air and fuel mixture which can cause a fuel problem. Based upon the trouble codes, the ECM was the most likely cause of the problem. The customer refused the repair and showed up at 4:50 on a Friday afternoon unannounced to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle was partially disassembled because we had not received a verbal authorization to complete the repair or to reassemble the vehicle. The customer rudely demanded the vehicle and was given the keys and took the vehicle in the partly disassembled state as described. We leave the vehicle in this condition so as not to charge the customer twice for the labor on the repair, and since the customer showed up at 4:50 with no advance notice the vehicle was not reassembled. We park vehicles on our 5 acre lot in a service area which may have up to 60 vehicles, and the customer was told that his vehicle was in that area. The customer is free to disagree with our diagnosis and go elsewhere, but must pay for the diagnosis. We will be happy to reimburse the $9.50 that he claims he was overcharged.
