This was the first time we had been made aware of this issueThe file was closed by one of our fee attorney officeThe school taxes were sent to the wrong taxing authorityThe error was not discovered until the property owner reported it to the closing officeOnce the funds were returned, they
did forward the tax payment to the correct taxing entityThey did not check to see the amount of interest and penalties due because of the late payment which is what they should have doneThey also did not follow through on payment of the penalties and interest even though the property owner called the office multiple times to ask for their assistance.
