When I read this response, all I hear is how much money the moving companies are making due to one of the busiest seasonsHowever, it is at the expense of the consumer like me whose belongings are completely damaged and will never be the same regardless of what repair job they undergoI am a meticulous person who takes great pride and care in her belongings from a vacuum cleaner to furnitureTo see all my things arrive, and now sit in my home, in such bad shape causes a great sense of violationThis move with North American has been very expensive, and has not gone well but I can only hope the claims department is responsive, professional and takes care of the damage in a timely and professional mannerTime will tell.*** ***

While I appreciate being responded to, I feel the response is weak and does not adequately address what happened… North American Van Lines took the job but botched it up completely and it is still unresolved until I receive ALL of my items still being stored in Maine, and my damage claims are adequately addressed, and my furniture is repaired and/or replaced.I did email the office coordinator, ***, a couple of weeks prior to our pick up date in Maine letting her know we are not going to be using them as we found another moverI never got a response from her confirming my email which should have been a red flag to meWhen we were informed that the other moving company could not make their commitment to load us as promised, my husband called North American Van Lines back to see if we could use them stillLow and behold, we thought we had a stroke of luck because they said they still had us on their schedule so the mistake made by their office coordinator was in our favorWe were still under the impression that our belongings would be loaded and transported to CO immediately and were never told they would be unloaded in their warehouse for storage and held for weeks, and we would only receive part of our deliveryWe definitely did not think we would receive our items in such bad shape.Regards,

This is in response to complaint #*** *** *** move from METo CO.Ms*** is correct in her stating that her shipment arrived very late in Colorado and for that I have no response other than to say I am sorry that the Van Lines could not find a truck heading out to her part of
Colorado in a more timely matterI emailed my dispatcher and the Van lines constantly to find a way to get this shipment heading westI checked with a competitor to see if perhaps they could move the shipment any sooner and they told me they were to busyThe summer time in the moving business is extremely busy and shipments are unfortunately delivered late every summer, by all the carriers not just North American Van Lines. What Ms*** fails to mention is that we picked her up on time even though she had another mover that she was going with and they called her a week ahead of load day and told her they couldn't find anyone to load herHer husband then called me to see if we could still do the job and I told him we could because she never called us to cancel with us in the first placeI did tell them that if the Van lines could not send a truck to load direct we would still be obligated to pick their shipment up on load day and bring back to our warehouse until the Van lines would cover itI did not tell them it would be weeks sitting in our warehouse because I didn't think it would have beenIt was a nice shipment and a good paying shipment for any driver, which is why I thought it would get handledThat was my mistake I guess as the Van lines just couldn't find a driverI did either return a phone message or spoke directly with Mr *** whenever he calledI can not say anything about communication with our office as I was not there much during the month of June/July.Again, I am sorry that this happened to the ***s and wish I could have done better on getting them their things sooner but it wasn't because we weren't trying every day. As far as the damage is concerned, I cannot comment. *** ***

We are truly sorry Ms. [redacted] is upset with our company, myself and crews. On the original estimate date in December I met with [redacted] and her daughter to review their upcoming move.  The unit was on a second floor at a residence in [redacted] Maine.  At this point we discussed her...

new home and the location of it. I did tell her the truck we would use would get into most properties. The alternatives are tractor trailer, which is too big or a pack truck which would be several trips. At this point severe icy road conditions were not present. This winters snow affected many moves and crews abilities. On the day of the move I was contacted by the driver and the shipper over a complaint from the driver about the sanitary conditions of the goods and the rental unit. I met with [redacted] in December and did not feel this was a concern at that point, I came over personally on a Saturday to review the site. When I arrived the driver was concerned about some animal waste and the hair on the furniture that was getting on to his pads.  I told him to stretch wrap any furniture he was concerned about, ask to sweep up any animal waste and get the job done. Also to not upset the shipper. I went inside and spoke to [redacted] and apologized for the stress and that the driver would get the job done. (our policies do allow drivers to refuse shipments that are deemed unsafe, hazardous, or unsanitary) I felt the driver had some merit but it was manageable and could be corrected.  I than was at another job site later that day and was contacted by the driver and the builder also a close friend of the shipper. I was told the driveway was very steep and the road was not safe due to ice conditions and snow banks going up.  The truck is a standard moving truck with all season tires that handle loacal and long distance trips. The driver was convinced this driveway would most likely get his truck stuck in a snow bank. I had to make a decision to either stop the move and shuttle with a smaller truck from our [redacted] office or [redacted] the builder said we was able and wanting to assist with his truck and trailer. I mentioned even renting a small uhaul. [redacted] was anxious to help Ms. [redacted] and wanted her to get moved in asap. I than authorixed the crew to take off 2 hrs for waiting time. I believed he was speaking directly with Ms. [redacted] so I apologize if she felt I was not working on getting her a solution. I also was being told that the crew members were being very respectful and hard working. The driver was staying on the truck to load and unload to the crew members- in efforts to not upset the shipper. I also authorized another mover [redacted] to join the team for 2-3 hrs at delivery (no charge)  I did follow up with [redacted] the builder after the job was completed and he did tell me all went well with the delivery after the shuttle was completed. Again my apologies for not calling the Ms. [redacted] directly. The following Monday I was forwarded the final billing of $1383.75 (8.25 hrs). I told our operations team, she was a referral to me and I did not want to charge her anything more than the estimate.  The crews left our warehouse at 8 and returned at 6:15.  The total actual cost was $113.75.  Technically road conditions are not the fault of movers and the actual time is what is supposed to be charged.  We did send a 4th crew member at no cost(not part of that charge) we also waived weekend rates for the shipper because she was a referral. We feel horrible that Ms [redacted] is unhappy with the experience. I do know the crews in the house did everything they could to rectify the situation and I have not heard any complaints on the helpers.  When I had heard that [redacted] was upset with charges from her email to our customer service person [redacted], our general manager stepped in as a fair unbiased representative. I know he reached out to her directly as a representative of the company.  In a situation like this, it is protocall to have the general manager to review and make the final decision. Again we are truly sorry Ms. [redacted] is unhappy and we regret that our drivers comments were upsetting to her.  We beleive we finacially took off from her bill as a sign of good faith. [redacted]I was forwarded the billing o

When moving with a van line, the agent represents the van line (northAmerican Van Lines).  Claims are handled directly from the van line in Fort Wayne Indiana.  They have policies and procedures as well financial solutions when appropriate. It is a disappointment to see this shipment had been delayed and the first available truck could not fit the full amount in. The additional amount is on route as of 7/29.  All operating managment is handled by the van line and its operating authority.  2015 is one of the busiest summers we have seen and I understand every van line is experiencing the same pains. The van lines will review all claims and issues once you submit your claim form in under 30 days.  We will follow up after the final delivery to confirm all goods have been received.Sincerely,[redacted]VP of Sales

[redacted] was estimated $2600+ for packing services for the goods he discussed with Mr. [redacted] to be packed on the intitial walk thru.  In the estimate it was established some boxes would be packed by the [redacted].  These are indicated on the original inventory as PBO.  The...

packing team came to the residence and packed all the goods the [redacted] instructed them to pack.  An inventory was taken and provided to the [redacted]. CP meant carrier packed and PBO meant Packed by owner no charge.  The [redacted] is correct that their were fewer boxes packed by the team than in the original estimate.  What we are seeing this that the [redacted] is not providing the full packing charges per box.  The numbers in his complaint reflect only the packing service charges (labor) not the material (boxes charged) these are all clearly labeled in the estimate on the same line as the packing service costs.  Example A Dish pack is $26.95 for the labor costs, the carton rates are $10. This has a total cost for the Dishpack of labor and material of $36.95.  Each box indicated to the Revdex.com is missing this part of the charge. We have reached out to the [redacted] via email to gladly go over.  These are clearly stated in all estimate and signed documents by the [redacted].  In the end the [redacted] was charged several thousand dollars less than the original estimate. These totals were based on actual services performed by the packing and moving teams.
