I think I have stated what had happenedI have been in the roofing business for more than yrsand my family for more than yrsand never had any problems of this nature until nowI feel that we were at the residence to help the owner not to ever cause problems I didn't install a complete new roof system to the home, only tried to correct the obviousi was concerned how a comp roof installed on a low slope ever passed county inspection, or perhaps this section was a bootleg addition?

All creditors have been paid We had multiple conversations with her throughout this entire process

The repair on the flat roof was to correct the previous installation of composition shingles to a flat surfaceThe upper portion of the roof w/ a greater slope was not addressed since there was the obvious flat roof problem ie a stain approxtwo indiain the corner where the garage attaches to
the tie inI did not feel at the time it was necessary or cost effective to re-roof the entire rear section of homeThe owner did state there was a leak in the same area approxtwo years later in which I did return at no cost to repair some areas on the upper valley sectionthe next step if the problem should re-occur was to re-roof the upper slopeApprox5-years after the original repair the owner contacted me for an estto re-roof but I was unable to do this due to myself being hit by a drunk driverI had broken ribs, head injuries that lresulted in an equilibrium problem and was unable to climb a ladderI am just getting back on my feet to do small repairs. After having to deny multiple loan request for Mrs***, we requested a co-signer and collateral for her loan We were able to approve the loan under the understanding that we would make checks payable to the creditors which were now in collection/judgment position Our loan officer
was in regular contact with Mrs*** during this loan process to find out which places she wanted to pay, get current pay offs, etc Everything was approved and decided on 6/9/and checks were made payable and mailed that same day Since then, one check has cleared on 6/15/17, the other is being held by Roanoke City courts, and i'm unable to reach the 3rd creditor because they are closed today I've spoken to Mrs***, and we've come up with a solution This is simply a case of someone upset for being denied a loan, and being upset with the postal service (which we have no control over)

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I was NEVER told during the loan process I was EVER denied a loan. This, by the way, is irrelevant as to why Fedstar continues to show such poor customer service.  I was, however, informed by the loan officer, my rate AND payment would be lower by having a consigner. This is not a case of an upset customer or being upset with the postal service. The face of this organization definitely did NOT respond with professionalism to a current customer! Instead, responded in a personal matter. The CEO and I did communicate via phone on June 23rd,  in which she stated the loan officer did speak to me the day of my original complaint. After a few minutes of going back and forth, we agreed her loan officer LIED about that! She asked me why I would contact the Revdex.com instead of her as if here were a chain of command I was to follow. I would NEVER be upset with a postal service nor would I ever file a complaint with an organization if I didn't believe I was shown less than professionalism. I have never file a complaint before now, by the way. I am, however, still disappointed and I unsatisfied with the professionalism  of the CEO. Today is June 29th and my 3rd creditor STILL has not received funds. I called [redacted] (CEO) several times today, receiving only her voicemail. She stated, the last time we spoke, on June 23rd, she would contact the creditor on Monday, June 26th. Didn't happen. She stated she would call me back after she spoke to someone at RCDC. That did not happen. As of today, I am not made whole and my complete service has not been fulfilled.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I think I have stated what had happened. I have been in the roofing business for more than 38 yrs. and my family for more than 94 yrs. and never had any problems of this nature until now. I feel that we were at the residence to help the owner not to ever cause problems.  I didn't install a complete new roof system to the home, only tried to correct the obvious. I was concerned how a comp roof installed on a low slope ever passed county inspection, or perhaps this section was a bootleg addition?

Dear Ms. [redacted],

I am in receipt of your letter dated June 4, 2015 and received by me on June 9, 2015.  In reply to the remarks by Mr. Karl A[redacted] contained in your letter I would submit the following observations:

The remarks by Mr. A[redacted] contain statements which are not “completely true” and therefore are more than a bit misleading and do not reflect the entire circumstances.  And, most important, Mr. A[redacted] has artfully dodged the most important issues with regard to his inept repair of the entryway roof. Please consider the following:

The stain he refers to was in fact about two inches in diameter BUT it extended approximately two feet from the garage horizontally to the sky light. Mr. A[redacted] told me not to worry about the stain because his repairs would allow them to dry and thus could be repainted.  He also avoids noting that there were other stains in the entryway caused by leaks which filled the 2’ x 4’ overhead florescent lights (2 of them) with water. He was informed about this upon his first visit to the residence. I would also note that his supposed repairs to the upper roof did not solve any leak problems. In fact the leaks worsened such that the sheetrock ceiling near the garage was water soaked such that it flaked off onto the floor. When that happened I removed a section of the sheetrock only to discover the rotted wood.

My telephone call to Mr. A[redacted] about reroofing the entire house occurred before I realized that he might not be correct about an upper slope leak and before the above mentioned sheetrock failure was obvious.  Please note that during the later stages of my efforts to solve the leak problems I had the roofs, upper and lower, inspected by [redacted] tech’s And Sears roofing techs.  Both of these companies found no issues with the upper roof, but had severe misgivings about the quality of the entryway roof.

Mr. A[redacted] does state that his initial contact was to correct the previous installation of composition shingles.  He says nothing more about this!  He artfully avoids the issues of not removing the shingles, not using proper flashing, and using nothing but layers of tar to supposedly correct the leaks (they were never corrected!!).  On one of his later visits I pointed out to Mr. A[redacted] that one of his VERTICAL seams was coming loose.  I observed this when standing approximately 30 feet away from the roof such that I had a fairly good view. He immediately said he was sorry about that and could not fathom such a thing happening to his commercial application. He then applied tar to the area as seen in a picture sent to the Bureau.  Upon further reflection, I would now seriously questions his installation with regard to vertical seams.  A proper installation would not have vertical seams according to [redacted] installers.  Indeed, the finished repair by [redacted] consists of 3 layers of roofing, 2 sub moisture barriers and a final composite roll roofing, all of which do not have vertical seams.

Mr. A[redacted] still seems to think that the upper roof is or was the major issue. Nothing could be further from the truth. Since the repair of the lower entryway roof almost one year ago I have not has any leaks. The upper roof was not touched by the [redacted] crew. In fact they made it clear that if they observed any issues with the upper roof they could not address them without a new contract.

In a nutshell the issue is that Allen Roofing did not properly address the entryway leaks because he did not remove the shingled layer before application of roll roofing, did not install the roll roofing such that vertical seams were avoided and did not properly flash the areas commonly flashed.

I am not at all touched by Mr. A[redacted]’s health problems as I too have equilibrium problems which prevent me from walking beyond three or four blocks, walking up my steep driveway, and climbing a ladder beyond two steps. I also tend to fall backwards if I somehow lean with my weight on my heels. That said. Are you glad you were so informed about my health problems. I HOPE NOT!! My health issues and Mr. A[redacted]’s health problems are not part of the roofing problem!!

Again, I would observe that Mr. A[redacted] has artfully avoided the
problems pointed out to him (he received a copy of my letter to the Bureau). He is certainly capable of reading and understanding my communications. He is, I believe therfore, fundamentally not an honest indivual.

I AM SORRY TO HAVE REACHED THIS CONCLUSION AS I SO TRUSTED HIM THROUGHOUT MUCH OF THE PROCESS.  I AM DISSAPOINTED IN HIM AS A PRESON. FROM MY POINT OF VIEW NOTHING IS RESOLVED!!  HE SHOULD OWN UP TO HIS ROOFING ERRORS. MAKING FINANCIAL RESTITUTION IN THE AMOUNT OF NO LESS THAN $2500 AND UP TO $5000 TO COVER THE ADDITIONAL $2500 COST TO [redacted] WOULD BE AN HONORABLE RESOLUTION.

Respectfully submitted,
