Allen's Plumbing Supply

I went to Allen's Plumbing Supply in February 2016 to get a tub shower and look at vanity tops and vanity's. I was sold a tub by Joe a worker at Allen's. The tub did not have a tile flange on it when I got it home to install it and so I brought it back to the store I explained my issue and they they explained the tub needed to be used with fiberglass walls that are specific to it. I asked to return the tub and had no issues. They took the tub back and as they did not have another one I could use in stock gave me my money back. I then got a tun at another retailer and when I needed a vanity and top I went back to Allen's. I walked the showroom and they man in the showroom was very helpful and pleasant. He showed me some really nice products and I was able to order a new vanity and top for a very reasonable price. The vanity was all wood not MDF like [redacted] or [redacted] and the top was a quartz that my wife and I love. I would recommend Allen's, I have lived in the area of Seymour for most of my life and I have heard the horror stories about them but I really do feel they are trying to turn it around and make it a place you will choose to go spend your money. Give them a chance they may surprise you.

The customer came to Allen's Plumbing Supply looking to complete a DIY project. The salesman at the counter provided her with all the necessary parts to complete the project. After purchasing the correct  parts to complete the project the customer decided she was going to hire someone to...

complete the project. It clearly states on all receipts that all items are non refundable.

Review: My [redacted] boiler needed to be replaced during this winter and we called Allen's plumbing and the owner himself came down to tell us exactly what we need to purchase in order to replace the existing oil boiler with a new gas boiler. The owner took the information for size off the existing boiler when the radiators should have been calculated for the appropriate sizing for a new boiler for the appropriate size of the new boiler which I found out afterwards. The owner from Allen's instead sized the new gas boiler off the existing oil boiler which is the incorrect method. Our heating contractor came to install the new boiler which was paid for in full and delivered by Allen's and was never touched or unpackaged. Our contractor and 2 others all agreed it was over sized. We went to Allen's to exchange it for the correctly sized boiler and he refused to exchange it or allow us to return it even though he was the one that told us it was the one we should get. Now we are stuck with a $3000 dollar boiler that we can't do anything with. I don't know what to do and am looking for help from the Revdex.com. Discussing what happen has led us to realizing that Allen's has a reputation for this. Please help!Desired Settlement: I would appreciate a refund for the boiler even if we took a 15% loss on it just in order to recoup any money we could from Allen's negligence. He even referred to us an installer who agreed it was over sized. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because:

If that was the case that my installer who Allen's plumbing referred to us afterwards, should be the one to properly size it rather than himself sizing it for us. He shouldn't of told us that this is the one to get and then have us pay for it knowing that it might not be the proper one. If he had any doubt and him knowing this and us unaware of this he tricked us into getting it knowing that he does not offer a return policy. We went to him for his advice and since that was his response he was fully aware that he was lying to us instead of offering us the correct advise only to make a sale. I am offended at his response and would ask the Revdex.com if they thought this was fair? Thank you and please contact me with any questions.

Review: I paid allens plumbing 5000 dollars to install 2 hot air furnaces at my 4 family rental home this winter .. unfortunately I paid before the work was done ... furnace 1 looks pretty good besides the flexible air intake , which probably isn't to code .. but furnace 2 was installed directly on the floor without blocks and has no intake air filter .. allens ([redacted] service guy) said they would return to the site and install the filter .. called twice and still I'm only getting lip service .. the issue is , they were too lazy too cut the duct and move it 4 inches over to make space for the air filter module which comes with all hot air furnaces ...Desired Settlement: would like air filter module installed
