Allergy & Asthma Assoc

I originally called Allergy and Asthma Associates on November 7, 2016 and ordered a refill of a vial of antigen for my severe hornet and wasp allergy. I didn’t hear from them and called again a month later when my injection was due. I was told there was no record of my order. I then reordered the antigen and confirmed with the nurse that I was located in ***, and I would go to the *** location for injections.

A week later I received a call that the medication was ready. I then called back less than 24 hours later and was informed that the antigen had been mailed to a *** something and Birth clinic. At that time, I told the gentleman who called I had never heard of the clinic he was referring to, that not only was that never my doctor’s office but I was also not in ***. I asked what would happen then. He told me the clinic would return the medication. I did not hear from the office after that and consequently decided to pursue treatment elsewhere.

The original loss of my order and then the loss of the medication resulted in my having to start my treatment over, at considerable cost to me and my insurance company.

Now, almost two years later, I continue to receive bills for the $375 vial of missing medication that was mailed to the unknown and incorrect location. I can understand some of the initial confusion, as my original treatment was provided in ***, but the continued sloppy and unprofessional handling of the situation continues to confound me. I wrote the clinic a letter over a year ago requesting they remove the illegitimate charge from my account, and yet I still continue to receive bills. I am concerned that it will end up in collections.
