We do charge a $50.00 fee when patients fail to keep their appointments without notifying us first.  It is clearly indicated on the forms we have them fill out and sign on their first visit.  However, we understand that things happen that keep us from always keeping our...

appointments.  With that being said, we only ask that the patient call if they cannot keep their appointment.  It can be as close as 5-10 minutes before their scheduled appointment and we waive the fee.  We contacted this patient 2 times.  Once to remind him of the appointment and a second time after the appointment was missed asking him if he would like to reschedule.  If the patient reschedules a missed appointment, we again waive the fee.  I think our procedure is more than fair.  We will waive the fee this one time for the patient as obviously he is very unhappy, however, I do not think our policy is unreasonable.
