Review: I had Alliance Computers take my computer to the store in [redacted] Pa after a rep from the [redacted] store discovered, in my home, my hard drive was defective. The reason for taking it to the [redacted] store was, as requested by me, to dump the contents of the hard drive onto a disc and return the computer and the disc to my home, which they did. I purchased a hard drive from a different vendor and replaced it myself. When I booted the computer up and noticed the wi-fi was not working, I began to troubleshoot the situation and discovered the wi-fi card had been removed. When the tech took the computer from my home, it had a wi-fi card installed. When I got it back from Alliance Computers, the wi-fi card was missing. I called them and asked what happened and I was told I would be called back. The next day, I went into the store since I had not recieved a return call from them. The employee insinuated I was lying, that I had removed the card and was now attempting to rip them off for a wi-fi card. And, all the time laughing at me. I was told he would call the manger at the [redacted] store and I would get a call concerning the results of that call. It has been a week and I have yet to recieve a call from them and I simply assume they are dodging this problem.Desired Settlement: I simply want them to replace the wi-fi card they removed from my laptop computer. The manager at the [redacted] store is supposed to be making all the decisions on this and that is the store the tech first tech came from. That is why the [redacted] store is named. Replace the card and apologize for the way they handled this situation.

Response:
As has already been explained to the customer by [redacted], the technician in [redacted], the customer will need to bring the laptop into the shop for us to do anything for him. The issue is almost definitely a driver issue, where the software driver for the wireless card is either not installed or not working properly. This is an extremely common problem and is encountered frequently, especially when the customer takes it upon themselves to perform repairs instead of having our trained technicians do the work.
If the wireless card is indeed missing, we'd be happy to replace it, though there is no reason for our technician to either remove it or even want to remove it, so it's unclear why he might have done so.
