Alliance Properties of the Carolinas Inc. Reviews (1)

Did not fulfill their end of the contract in a professional or timely manor. Instead of working to correct the program, they terminated the contract. We started with Alliance when my husband received a transfer out of town & was given 2 weeks to move. We packed & moved quickly. We came back to paint & fix everything we could. The company was afraid we may have to repaint some of the rooms, the yard needed a little clean-up & the blinds needed replacing. A handy man was hired and the fees were taken out of the first rent check. The house rented within 2 months, which is what we expected & the family was happy with the colors of the rooms. Everything seemed ok.The main problem was when the renters renewal year lease was signed around April of 2013 & they have to give a 30 day notice of moving out. On March 16, 2014 I emailed asking the owner/broker if she had heard anything about them renewing. On the 19th she responded saying, "I haven't heard anything, but let me try to contact them." So we waited a while, knowing that last time it took a while. She never asked if we wanted to change anything in the contract.Fast forward to April 28th, my husband sent her an email asking if the renters had renewed their lease. No response,so Friday May 2nd my husband emailed & called her both & on Monday the 5th as well. The first email said he was following up from the email earlier that week on the 28th. On Monday he sent another email saying, "Can you please reply to the email below on the status of the renters at X? I have tried to call your office number several times only to get your voice mail." This is well after the fact that the contract should have been renewed, and is this not what we pay the company to do?So we finally got an email from her on Tuesday the 6th, YAY. It said, "Good morning! I did receive your email from Friday & yesterday. I have been holding classes since last Friday am, but will be reaching out to her today. I feel certain they will be renewing. Also, my phone number is X, just incase you don't have the correct numbers. I will let you know." Ok, busy I understand, but she NEVER contacted them as she said over a month ago that she would. So obviously upset I called and left her a message stating that I was upset and why, that if need be we would consider a different company. She did then quickly get with the renters and back to us, which we appreciate. However, for every "apology" she provided several excuses. Since services were not properly rendered my husband sent the following email: "I accept the apology for dropping of the ball regarding the renewal. In return, however, we feel like it is appropriate to credit us ½ of the management fee for this month, which is about 45 dollars. We also would like for you to remain the property manager of our house." Her response to this was: "Regarding the management, as far as I know we have never had a "hiccup" prior to this. If you had lost money due to me or an Alliance decision, I would be happy to pay you. However, Alliance will not be monetarily "punished" for not making a phone call in a timely manner even if it's only $45. Yes I apologized for not getting in touch with the tenants regarding their renewal when you originally contacted me, however between your wife calling and yelling on my voicemail about how terrible we are and now asking for money. This is too much. Please accept this as our 30 day notice to terminate our contract." I never said they were terrible, just that I was displeased. We pay them to take care of this since we are out of town. I left her a voicemail apologizing if she felt I yelled as that was not my intention & asked how an upset call and asking for a partial refund was terms for terminating a contract? She called me back and kept interrupting me and then started yelling at me about not being monetarily punished. (I know now she can't have thought I yelled after hearing her yell), I tried to express how unprofessional I felt she was being, but she kept yelling at which point I told her I knew several lawyers and real estate agents, she then hung up on me. VERY UNPROFESIONAL!Desired SettlementWe would like a partial refund for the month for which the services were not properly rendered. If they choose to still terminate the contract based on the stated reasons of "yelling and requesting a refund" we would also like a partial refund of the initial listing fee as I do not believe those are valid reasons to terminate a contract in place of being professional and trying to work out the situation, as it will costs us a great bit more to start with another company. Business Response The [redacted]'s management contract expired 2/26/3013 and automatically renewed on a monthly basis with a 30 day notice to terminate by either party, however, Alliance Properties will be refunding $45 along with their May deposit. We have worked out a resolution that works for both parties and wish them nothing but the best. Consumer Response A resolution was agreed upon. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.Final Consumer Response The company did agree to give us a partial refund for the month in which the services were not properly rendered and was apologetic for their previous behavior. Thank you for your assistance.
