Mr [redacted] enrolled in Allied’s SAFE course on 07/27/with a fixed start date of 7/29/On 7/29, Mr [redacted] was sent a welcome email that outlined the requirements for course censusCourse census states that students must participate in the course within 48-hours of the class start date or he or she will be withdrawnMy [redacted] failed to participate during this timeframe and was withdrawn On 8/3/15, Mr [redacted] was provided a complimentary reenrollment in the next SAFE class which had a fixed start date of 8/5/Mr [redacted] made course census for this start date; however he failed to meet the participation requirement, which requires an academic event at least once every other dayBecause he failed to meet the participation requirement, he was administratively withdrawn from this course a second time Preceding both class starts, Mr [redacted] was emailed the detailed course attendance and participation requirements by his instructorFurthermore, these requirements are prominently posted early within the online course The content of the emails included the language, “I want to remind you that your course starts today, X/X/and ends on X/X/(these dates were populated with the dates of his two enrollments) This course is an online instructor-led course, and you will be taking this course in our virtual classroom with other students You are expected to interact with your fellow classmates and me regularly throughout the 14-day duration In order to avoid being withdrawn for non-participation, please make sure that you participate within the first two days of the course and then participate at least every other day thereafter.” In addition, the email also contains a calendar detailing when specific assignments are available and dueThe email also notifies the student that if he or she has any questions regarding the course materials or policies that there is a General Discussion area in the course where questions can be posted to the instructorMoreover, the phone number for our Instructional Support department is also included in the emailMr [redacted] states that he received no support during his enrollment; Allied disagrees with this statement in the strongest terms possible as we have clearly made many resources available to him On 8/19/15, Mr [redacted] called our Student Services department and requested a refundHis refund was calculated in accordance to the refund policy that he agreed to when he signed his enrollment agreementThe refund is a pro-rata calculation based on assignments completed after deduction of the 20% non-refundable feeMr [redacted] paid $for his course and was offered a refund of $ We are sorry that Mr [redacted] had a less than favorable experience with Allied SchoolsWe are certain that if he would have utilized the resources available to him he would have had a pleasant experienceAs a measure of good faith, Allied Schools is willing to make a concession on his refundWe will not pro-rate based on assignments completed; we will only withhold the non-refundable 20% feeWe feel that this refund is more than fair considering we enrolled Mr [redacted] twice in the SAFE courseThis will bring his refund amount to $ If Mr [redacted] would like to accept our refund offer, he may reach out to [redacted] , our Student Affairs Manager, to have the refund processed

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the? response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.? For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The response is attempting to say that due to the fact that I signed the loan documents they are solely my responsibilityI am not disputing thatI will unfortunately be faced with the burden of having to pay them backAAU did not, however, respond to my issue with being given wrong information regarding these loans and school servicesThe ONLY reason I decided to move forward was because the first counselor I spoke with, [redacted] ***, advised me to proceed and that financial aid will pay for the first couple of courses and that I should apply for the loan "in case I need them for future courses." The loans were not too be touched based on that conversationI was mislead into taking classes at this schoolIt is not moral nor legal to misrepresent services and financing in this mannerThis is why I am requesting the cost of the school to be refundedI participated in taking classes at this school based on information provided by an employee of AAUBased on the fact that I was lied to in order to take classes that is the least they can doAAU did nothing to further my educationAll they did was provide a bad service and lie.? Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,After an extensive review of the complainants record, we have determined the following: When he enrolled in Allied Business Schools medical coding program the cost was $and upon his enrollment, he was provided a $discountTherefore, the total amount of his tuition was $ The Allied Business Schools refund policy was available for your review in his signed enrollment agreement (contract signed 10/30/2015) and in the school catalog As stated in the enrollment agreement, the refund policy does not allow for full refunds after the first five (5) business days of signing your enrollment agreement and after you have completed courseworkAfter the fifth business day from enrollment, but before the enrollment termination date (10/30/2016), if students wish to cancel before any assignments are submitted, a non-refundable 20% portion ($200) of the course cost and shipping and handling costs are deductedSince he completed two of the three courses in their entirety and completed several assignments in the third course in his program and is well past his enrollment termination date, he is not eligible to receive a full refund However, since his personal circumstances are strained, we are willing to stop the automatic debit from his account and provide him with a partial refundWe are offering to waive the $non-refundable 20% portion of the course, as well as the materials/shipping feesHis total estimated refund is $Sincerely,Allied Schools

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I have proof in emails from Allied that show that even they have problems with their software productsI asked when I purchased the course what operating system I can useThey sent me a letter stating only XP and weren't supportedHowever, this is not user error or an operating issue- they sold me a product that won't interface with their i-boardIt wasn't until I progressed through the course and after their expiration date that this was discovered on my partThey have admitted repeatedly to me in writing that they are aware of issues on their endThey have sent me emails stating that they are aware of problemsI am sick that they have swindled $1,from me Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com, It appears that the crux of Mr [redacted] ’s compliant is in regards to his student loanMr [redacted] contacted Allied American University (AAU) on 7/26/because he received a notice from his student loan servicer notifying him that his student loans would be going into repayment status During this conversation with the AAU Financial Aid Advisor, Mr [redacted] questioned why he owed students loans as he said he informed his admission representative that he did not want student loans for his first semesterIt was explained to Mr [redacted] that he was awarded student loans for his only semester at AAU and a copy of his ledger was sent to himThe ledger shows that his Pell Grant and student loans were used to cover the cost of tuition, books, and fees, and that he was refunded the credit balance of $2,On 7/27/16, Mr [redacted] again contacted the AAU Financial Aid Advisor stating he had received an email from the advisor in February advising that the stipend check did not have to be paid backAfter investigating, it appears that Mr [redacted] sent an email asking if payments were due to Allied American University from the stipend checkIt was confirmed that his balance to AAU was paid in full and that no payment was due to the UniversityThere is no mention that he would not need to pay his loan back to the lenderThere is also additional correspondence in his student file where Mr [redacted] asks for clarification regarding a disclosure statement he received in the mailThe AAU Financial Advisor explained that this statement shows that student loans were being disbursed to the UniversityMr [redacted] thanked the advisor for the clarificationThis shows an acknowledgement that Mr [redacted] was aware that student loan finds were being disbursed for his first semester Lastly, Mr [redacted] completed Entrance Counseling and signed a Master Promissory Note which specifically address that he would be receiving student loansThese documents clearly outline the rights and responsibilities of the borrowerBased on the above information as well as additional correspondence in his student file, it is clear that Mr [redacted] was aware that we was applying for and received a student loanBased on this information, Mr [redacted] is not eligible for a refundSincerely, Allied American University Tell us why here
