service was horrible did not have my reservation in their system even though I had their own confirmation code get there, and car we reserved wasn't available they wanted us to wait an hour and see what cars were returned

I wish I read the reviews beforehand, but I was in need of a car, searched online, found a good price, and booked it without thinking twiceTHE WORST experience of my life, which managed to almost ruin my vacationThis comes from a guy who used to work for a rental car company, so I have a pretty good idea of how things should work, how long it takes to rent a vehicle, what insurance I need, etc
* Advertised 10min pick up from airport took 45min
* With customers in front of me, I waited for 45minI could have rented vehicles in this time
* My reserved compact car, of course, was unavailable, but so was the case with everybody else waiting in lineI understand that sometimes supplies are low, but when you have reservations in a given night, it's unacceptable that you do not have at least 50% of your reserved type of vehicle availableThey only had large pickup trucks and cargo-type vans, stamped with ALLIED Rental advertising on the sidesI ended up getting a cargo van, because it was 3AM and I needed to get to my hotel and sleepAnd, unwillingly, I ended up driving around Puerto Rico as an advertising agent for this company with a huge sign promoting them on the side...Wonderful
* In my rush to get out of there, I did not look much at the gas tank levelIt was actually on E and running on fumes...I almost ran out of gas minutes after leaving the location (the van began to stall and slow down), while on the highwayLuckily, I ran into a gas station minutes later in the middle of nowhere, so I managed to fill it up and avoid a disastrous situation
* All kinds of hidden charges, upfront lies, and unexpected fees, which ended up tripling the initial cost of the bookingI won't even go into details here, as this seems to be a common occurrence with other renters too
* Although the employee behind the counter (same guy on rental and return, as he seems to work the night shift) was courteous and smily, he ended up arguing with me and against my customer point of view, refused to provide any resolution or discount to rectify the mess they put me through, and ultimately said that I'd be contacted by management the day afterOf course, nobody has called yet and I am still waiting to see what the final charge on my rental will be
I could go on for hours about the customer experience this company provided, but really only one thing is important - DO NOT RENT from this company EVER!!! Looking forward to the day they are out of business

Renting from Allied Car and Truck Rental near San Juan airport was the worst experience I have EVER had renting a carI waited on the line for hours! There were workers behind the counter helping customers but for some reason they were never there at the same time! The line was so long that when one of the workers emerged from downstairs all of us in line got excited until he literally started doing paperwork! No one even tried to explain to us why the wait was so longAfter the hours passed, I finally received my car after spending another minutes at the counter just to rent the car! This process shouldn't take more than minutes! When I checked my account the next day my bank informed me that I had a hold on my credit card for $550! It was over by $I went back the next day to have them refund and release the extra hold and the manager Sandra Santiago actually told me it couldn't be done and that I had to call my bank to get the hold releasedI told her that was their mistake and that she needed to take care of itMy bank told me on speaker so the manager Sandra Santiago can hear that Allied needed to contact their merchant services to correct their errorSandra Santiago said she had no way of contacting merchant services lol So the logical question would be-how do they release holds when customers return cars? At this point my husband took down her name and that's when she miraculously figured how to contact merchant servicesMsSantiago was so rude it took all my will not to lose my coolI could go on about her for days She needs customer service training and she shouldn't be managing anyone with her attitudeAfterwards I had customers that were on the line come over to me saying that they were shocked at her behaviorDon't even get me started on when I returned the carOMG

Very badas in NO service. We reserved a car for a day-trip from our hotel in Condado, San Juan, P.R. The confirmed reservation was for 8 AM and the Condado location was supposed to open at 8 AM. We arrived at 8:15 and no one was there and the kiosk was not open. We waited and waitedalong with several other customersand still no one arrived. We called the customer service number above (XXX-XXXX) twice and were told someone was on the way. We were then put on hold and no one ever came back on the line. We left at 9:45 AM and cancelled our plans for the day. Totally disrespectful of customers' time.

Very unprofessional we reserve a car and when we got there they didn't have any car available and they did that to three other customers and they offer me a different car and I have to pay 29.99 more a day when it wasn't even my fault that they sold out , I ask to talk to the manager but none available and she told me that those are the rules of course I think it's a scam they doing so that you can pay more for your car don't rent there, they charge you 10.00 for the toll activation and 6.95 a day whether u used or not, very disappointing it was my first time and it will be my last
