Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my dispute Please enter your reason(s) for rejecting the business response below First, my hearing was not given a break The hearing was over when I first spoke with [redacted] Second, I am not sure what she means my peppering but I did ask her why she didn't tell me that she was my court reporter when my name was called to the bench I also asked her why she didn't tell me that she was my court reporter when I asked the lady next to me at the bench if she was my court reporter Third, I did not become aggressive with her and I am sure there are videos in the courthouse from surveillance cameras that will prove this Why didn't C [redacted] say, "Mr [redacted] I am your court reporter," when my name was called to the bench or when I specifically ask the question while at the bench, "Are you my court reporter?" Right then, C [redacted] should have said, "I am your court reporter Mr [redacted] " Unless, she wasn't in the courtroom to hear me ask this question at the start of my hearing Again, everyone heard me in the courtroom, when I asked this questionThere is a little principle called, "doing what's right or doing the right thing at the right time." This should be a fundamental principle followed by every person and especially followed by every business The customer comes first when a business provides a service the customer paid for In this case, the court reporter knew who the customer was and failed to provide or initiate her service to the customerAccording to her statement, she did this on purpose There is more to this than just following a simple principle and initiating business services My hearing was schemed to not be recorded because someone wants to hide the truth.I want my $back because I did not receive the service I paid for Regards, [redacted]

[redacted] *My name is [redacted] I have been the office manager at Allied CourtReporters since August 1997.I received an initial phone call from Mr. [redacted] on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at12:49 p.m. He stated he was in Pennsylvania and had a court hearing in the3601h District Court of Tarrant County,... Texas, on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 8:30a.m. He inquired about having a court reporter present to record his hearing. Itold him we did have a reporter available that day, the cost for having a reporterpresent is $180.00 for a half day and $360.00 for a full day. I explained toMr. [redacted] that he was responsible for the $180.00 half-day fee if the reporterappeared on site at his hearing that morning, even if she did not record anyproceedings, or if for any reason his hearing was cancelled or reset. He saidthat was fine and asked if there was any additional charge if he wanted thehearing transcribed. I told him, yes, it would be $5.00 per page for transcribingthe hearing. He stated he was gathering information and would get back if hewanted to schedule a court reporter.Note: The exact rates for court reporters at Tarrant County courthouses are$383.36 for a fully day and $191.68 for a half day. These rates are set byTarrant County and also apply to official court reporters employed by thecounty. I decrease them slightly for pro se clients. The page rates for transcription of proceedings held at Tarrant Countycourthouses are set by the official court reporters. $5.00 per page is theaverage that we bill all clients requesting transcripts.Mr. [redacted] called a second time on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 9:41 a.m. and statedhe would like to reserve a court reporter to appear at his hearing on June 15,2015, at 8:30 a.m. I reiterated that the half-day rate of $180.00 would becharged to his credit card if the reporter appeared on site. I told him I wouldneed his credit card information beforehand and would get it when I called himFriday, June 12, 2015, for a final confirmation. He explained that he might notbe available on Friday, June 12, 2015, and was insistent on giving his credit cardinformation at this time. I told him I would take his credit card information, butwould still need to contact him for a final confirmation. Otherwise, I will not havea reporter on site Monday, June 15, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. He gave me his creditcard information and a home number of (570) 345-6282 and a cell number of [redacted] . I told him I would not run his credit card until the hearing wasconcluded and I knew whether to charge him for a half day or full day.Mr. [redacted] indicated he understood and was in agreement with the process I hadexplained to him. [redacted] *Since Mr. [redacted] had made his previous calls from his home number, I called hishome on Friday, June 12, 2015, at 2:16p.m. for a final confirmation. A femaleanswered the phone. I asked to speak with Mr. [redacted] . She said Mr. [redacted] wasnot in. She asked who I was and I said, " [redacted] with Allied Court Reporters." Iasked when she expected him in and she said he would be there in the evening.I thanked her and said I would try calling back in the evening.I called his home number again at 5:32 p.m. Mr. [redacted] answered. I told himwho I was and that I was calling for a final confirmation for the appearance of acourt reporter at his hearing on Monday, June 15, 2015, at 8:30 a.m. Heconfirmed. Since he lives in Pennsylvania, I asked if he was appearing in personfor this hearing. He said, yes, he would be there. I told him if for any reason hewas unable to appear (i.e. flight delayed, sickness, etc.) and might not be at hishearing and needed to cancel the reporter, that I answer the office phone 24/7and on weekends and to please call so that the reporter doesn't arrive at thecourthouse and I have to bill his credit card.Note: We do not have cancellation fees. The reporter called me on June 15, 2015, at 11:15 a.m. I was at a doctor'sappointment with my son and missed the call. I called her back at 12:18 p.m.She told me she was done at the courthouse and explained what took place atMr. [redacted] 's hearing. When I returned to my office, I ran Mr. [redacted] 's credit cardat 1:26 p.rn. for the $180.00 we had discussed for a half day. I rnailed an invoiceand a credit card receipt to Mr. [redacted] 's horne address.I rnissed a called frorn Mr. [redacted] 's cell number at 2:22 p.rn. He left a messagestating that my reporter did not do her job and did not get his "transcript." Heinstructed rne not to charge his credit card and that he was not paying. He alsostated that since he did not get his "transcript," we were responsible for possiblyputting his child in danger.I missed three phone calls from Mr. [redacted] on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at12:52 p.m., 12:56 p.m., and 1:08 p.m. He left messages each time basicallyrestating what he said in his previous phone call from Friday, June 15, 2015. Hesaid he knew I had charged his credit card and wanted it credited back. Thesemessages, however, were threatening in nature, i.e., making legal and ethicalaccusations against me and the court reporter.I called Mr. [redacted] back at 1:12 p.m. I apologized for missing his calls. Heimmediately interrupted me, demanding that I credit his card back. I tried toremind him of the agreement he made when we spoke previously. He continuedto interrupt me and I let him speak. He told me to credit his card back. I said,"Sir, I'm not going to credit your card back." He said, "Fine. I am going to report [redacted] *you to the RevDex.com." I said, 'That's fine, sir." He hung up on me.Note: This was a 54-second conversation.I have spoken to the court reporter about what transpired the day of Mr. [redacted] 'shearing. Since I was not present that day and do not have firsthand knowledgeof the events, attached is her response to this complaint. I support her position innot recording the hearing. I am sympathetic to Mr. [redacted] 's situation. He didrequest our services, however, the judge is the conductor of the courtroom andmy reporters, in every courtroom, must abide by the instructions of the judge andtheir staff. Mr. [redacted] was not represented by counsel at his hearing, and mayhave had a different outcome if he had legal representation.I believe Mr. [redacted] 's complaint should be lodged with the court overseeing hishearing, not with me, the court reporter or Allied Court Reporters. We did ourjob, and that was to have a reporter present the day of Mr. [redacted] 's hearing.
