Allied Tool & Machine Company Reviews (1)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I do not accept the response,...

it was not made by the business it was made by their insurance carrier's claim representative. I feel that there are two issues here. One is the (2) bills sent to me by Cornwells and the second issue is the water damage to my home which is being handled by insurance. I submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com for the bills sent to me by Cornwells, as I do not feel that I owe these bills. Ms. [redacted] has indicated that my husband "admitted there was damage to the pipe prior". My husband did indeed advise that he was aware the pipe was bent prior to Cornwells coming out to replace our shower cartridge. What everyone fails to acknowledge is that the pipe was BENT only, not broken. Further, the pipe had been bent for an unknown length of time, and we learned of it being bent from a plumber who replaced the cartridge two years prior. At no time did the bent pipe leak prior to Cornwell's coming to our home. The first time we had a leak was immediately after Austin C[redacted] changed the cartridge on 4/7/17. To suggest that this is our fault goes against all logic. We had no leak in our pipe, we simply had a drip from the shower head caused by the cartridge. When Austin did the repair, he did NOT test the water or turn it on as is indicated by Ms. [redacted] in her response. Had he done so, my husband would have heard and seen that. Further, the first time the faucet was turned on we had a MAJOR leak with water pouring through the lights in the ceiling below. This is not a slight leak that could have gone unnoticed. The sole, proximate cause of the MAJOR leak in our home was Austin C[redacted]'s attempt at replacing the cartridge on 4/7/17. He apparently broke the pipe causing this leak. Prior to this it was only bent and NOT leaking. My request is for the C[redacted] to void these bills for repairs on 4/7 and 4/10. The 4/7 repair was faulty and the 4/10 repair was to correct the broken pipe that Austin C[redacted] caused three days prior.Any further response should come from the business, not their insurance company. My damage to my home is a separate matter being handled by [redacted]. Yes, I do want Cornwells to tell the truth to their insurance company that Austin broke the pipe completely when he did the repair. I suspect he knew he did it which is why he did not test the water at that time. In any case, the pipe was broken and it leaked. We do not owe for faulty repairs and we do not feel we owe any amount of money to Cornwells. We would appreciate it if the insurance company would deal directly with us and our insurance company and stay out of this Revdex.com matter. The theory of negligence in this matter is simple, here are the facts again:1. The pipe had been been for 2 plus years with no leaking.2. Austin C[redacted] replaced the cartridge and pulled and tugged on it forcefully in front of my husband [redacted].3. Austin stated the pipe is bent, and [redacted] stated he had been told that two years prior.4. Austin C[redacted] did NOT advise [redacted] that the bent pipe would prevent him from changing the cartrige.5. Austin C[redacted] did not tell us that the pipe had to be replaced or a leak would result.6. Austin C[redacted] did not turn on the water and test the repair.7. The first time the faucet was turned on, water poured through lights in the ceiling below causing major water damage to our home.8. Austin C[redacted]'s faulty repair or failure to notice that he had damaged the pipe beyond repair with his forcefully tugging was the SOLE PROXIMATE CAUSE of water damage to our home.I have attempted to attach a video to this file of the extensive leak while it was happening but I am unsure if it will be able to be viewed. If not, I am happy to text a copy to a cell phone to hopefully allow for viewing just let me know. My prayer is that the bills from Cornwells will be voided and that their insurance company will reimburse my $1000 deductible as well as the cost to remediate the water damage and cost of repairs to our home.  I understand that the resulting damage from the water is being handled by our insurance carrier so we will not interfere with that, but we do not feel it is fair to make us pay for any work performed by Cornwells in light of the events that took place.
Regards,
