Allie's Pet Corner Reviews (2)

I have just spent the last 40 minutes typing a respond and your system did not take it. Therefore it will take me another 40 minutes to type. I wil not be able to do that till this evening. Korey P.

I picked up the female yorkie from the breeder on Jan. 5th.
She went to the vet for a health checkup...

on Jan. 6th. Which turned
out normal. [redacted] purchased her on the 8th, at that time she was
given a feeding guide along with instructions on what to look for and what to
do about hypoglycemia. We called [redacted] on the 9th, 10th,
and 11th to check on the puppy, but got no answer (we always follow
up on every puppy we sell). I finally talked to her on the 12th and
she told me that the puppy was doing well, eating good and there were no
concerns. On the 13th she called the store and told the store
manager that she wasn’t eating and she tried to force feed her baby banana food
(one of the papers she signed stated chicken baby food). She was advised to
bring her into the store. Sometimes bringing a puppy back to a familiar
environment will encourage them to eat. Through conversation with [redacted] we
learned that she had taken the puppy to a daycare with her son for the day. A
new puppy should never leave there new environment for at least a week,
especially not to a busy daycare were lots of kids were handling the puppy.
They need to adjust to their new surroundings first before they are exposed to
more new things. It is all very stressful to them. Within the first few minutes
at the store the puppy drank nonstop, comsuming about ¼-1/2 cup of water. The
poor thing was dehydrated. She would not eat for us so we went to the next step
and that was to give her chicken baby food. She was at the beginning stages of
hypoglycemia (which is drop in the blood sugar level). She needed to be watched
and feed every hour until she started to eat on her own. This is very common
with yorkies and yorkie mixes. She agreed to leave the puppy with us. One of my
associates took the puppy home for the next few nights, getting up and feeding
her through the night. After a few days she began to eat on her own but was being
very picky (again typical of a yorkie). We got her eating consistently and felt
that it was safe to let her go home. She came in and picked up the puppy on the
evening of the 21st. She was then again advised on what to look for
and what to do if this happens again. [redacted] called the store on the 22nd stating that the puppy had not eaten since the day before and she tried everything
and wanted her money back. I told her that we just don’t give a full refund on
puppies till they are checked out by the vet and there is a cost involved in
that. I told her to bring the puppy in and I would take a look at her. When she
arrived at the store the puppy was in a carrier on the floor. I picked up the
carrier and placed it on the counter and opened the door, when I grabbed the
puppy my heart immediately sank. This poor little girl was so lethargic that
she couldn’t even hold up her head. I went behind the counter to grab some karo
syrup (this will bring up blood sugar level very quickly). Meanwhile I am
asking her “how she could let this get so bad” & “what kind of person that
wouldnt make sure she eats”!!!!!! I came out from behind the counter and asked
to leave the store I didn’t want to talk to her right now (I was furious with
her and didn’t want to see her at that moment). She came at me and shoved me,
then grabbed the puppy out of my arms, puppys head just flying around, and
threw her in the crate. At this point I began to cry because I knew if someone
didn’t do something immediately to save this puppies life she would die. I
begged her to leave the puppy with me, she needed help. She left the store. I
have eye witnesses and store security camera footage to show all of this, along
with a police report from her shoving me. The rest of the day I was feeling very upset not knowing
what was going on with her. I received a email that day which was a copy of a
[redacted] review. I really didn’t care about the review and part that made me the
most happy is that it stated the puppy had vet costs, which means she did take
her to the vet. That was good news. Later I got another email stated that there
were vet costs that needed to be reimbursed. I responded, stating that I needed
to see the vet bills. Later on Feb. 2nd I received page 2 of the vet
bill, but there were just totals and a hand written note on the top that said,
the puppy had a virus. I responded telling her that I need to see the entire bill
to determine what the puppy was treated for. I still have yet to receive those
records from her. As a store that sells live animals, I am responsible for
selling healthy animals. I cannot be responsible for making sure that people
feed their animals. We require that all the animals go home with the food that
they were eating at the store. We offer advice on feeding and teach them about
hypoglycemia. I do not cover vet costs that involve hypoglycemia and she signed
a contract stating that she understood we are not responsible for vet cost
regarding hypoglycemia. It is the owners responsibly to feed they pets. If the
puppy had a virus then I would take those records to my vet for review before I
reimburse any bills. I have all the paperwork that was signed by [redacted] on the
day of purchase, which including is a feeding guide and what to have on hand if
there is a problem.  Also available for
review are video footage of her bringing the puppy into the store on the 22nd and her shoving me and throwing the puppy back into the crate, and the police
report. And all email correspondence between her and I. Thank you. Korey P. Allie's Pet Corner
