This part of Mr***’ complaint is and misleading “He re-adjusted the springs and tweaked a "flag" bracket at the north end of the bar holding the springsAfterwards, the bracket was still badly misaligned, and when leaving, Alan's truck left several three-foot-long tire marks in my

He again parked in my driveway (counter to my request) and without any previous notice or discussion of any charges, billed me for $for a "service call." He was there for minutes, at mostI was outraged! Alan's reply: "I don't sell insurance." I called another company which successfully repaired A***'s "work" the following day.” I knew nothing about marks on his very steep drivewayIt was not my intention to be careless and I would have gladly parked on the street had I knownThe first time I visited I did not adjust the flag bracketIt didn’t need adjustingThe condition of the flag bracket and track radius were in the same position for nearly years since it was installedHe complained about “a lot of noise”This is and subjectiveI have worked on overhead doors in the field for yearsThe door sounds were to meOn the last trip out I humored Mr*** by “tweaking” the radius which took a good deal of pressure to changeThis “problem” had nothing to do with the original spring changeThere was nothing imbalanced on my last trip outI corrected the slipping drum that Josh left in disrepair the first warranty trip I made and didn’t charge for itBut the last time *** called it was nothing but a frivolous callIn his own words he acknowledges that we informed him, “She stated that I would be responsible for any repair problems not related to the original jobI agreed”, This following part of his sentence is false“as long as I was given an estimate of charges before Alan did any work.” We charge a service call for the trip out and back which takes over an hour of driving timeIf his door problem is not related to the work originally done and he calls us out then he pays for the service call as agreedIt wasn’t related and there was no problemIt was frivolous and he thought I would come for free as I had beforeThat is why I said “we don’t sell insurance” meaning that his original payment for the springs doesn’t entitle him to call us out for every little noise that his year old door makesRe another door company- I seriously doubt that another door company came out or if they did, that they found anything legitimate to repair unless the customer tried to change something on the door and created a problemMy years of excellent service with no legitimate unresolved complaints speaks for itself

Complaint: ***
I am obviously rejecting the response, because MrA*** now refuses to give me any refund, after originally promising a "partial refund" (which could have been one dollar -- he was never willing to say). He is also being less than honest once again when he says I agreed to pay for a service call. I never did agree to this, and I never stated it in any emails. As previously stated (check my emails), I told his wife "I would be responsible for any repair problems not related to the original job as long as I was given an estimate of charges before Alan did any work." MrA*** did NOT adequately finish the job (door still unbalanced, and it was repaired by another company at additional cost to me). And I was never given any "estimates" for additional work (because MrA*** claimed none was necessary). No service charge or dollar amount was ever mentioned until AFTER MrA*** came out the second time and said that he was not responsible for any problems with the door ("I do not sell insurance.")What he really meant was that he did not stand behind his work.I could have stomached the entire affair, but his blind-siding me with the bogus high "service charge" (especially when he was already doing work on the north side of Spokane that day) was too much.

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:MrA*** waited the full days to reply. He was careless parking on the driveway both times, and both times I asked his wife on the phone to have him park in the street. *** *** did come out to repair the door the day following A***'s bogus service charge. The repairman stated that the flag bracket had been tampered with, and that the door was indeed still unbalanced, and he also straightened the roller bracket that MrA*** had bent the day before. I was NOT given an estimate of charges prior to any additional work by MrA*** (he basically did nothing), and MrsA*** had previously stated that Alan was "already in the area (north side of town)" when he checked the door the second time (no "one hour trip"). Again, I felt ripped off by A***, and told him so the morning of his so-called "everything is okay" second trip to my house

This part of Mr. [redacted]’ complaint is false and misleading. “He re-adjusted the springs and tweaked a "flag" bracket at the north end of the bar holding the springs. driveway. The garage door now made a lot of noise that it hadn't made before, and was still unbalanced. Alan made a return visit on August 28, and claimed that "everything was fine." He again parked in my driveway (counter to my request) and without any previous notice or discussion of any charges, billed me for $108.80 for a "service call." He was there for 10 minutes, at most. I was outraged! Alan's reply: "I don't sell insurance." I called another company which successfully repaired A[redacted]'s "work" the following day.” I knew nothing about marks on his very steep driveway. It was not my intention to be careless and I would have gladly parked on the street had I known. The first time I visited I did not adjust the flag bracket. It didn’t need adjusting. The condition of the flag bracket and track radius were in the same position for nearly 50 years since it was installed. He complained about “a lot of noise”. This is false and subjective. I have worked on overhead doors in the field for 52 years. The door sounds were normal to me. On the last trip out I humored Mr. [redacted] by “tweaking” the radius which took a good deal of pressure to change. This “problem” had nothing to do with the original spring change. There was nothing imbalanced on my last trip out. I corrected the slipping drum that Josh left in disrepair the first warranty trip I made and didn’t charge for it. But the last time [redacted] called it was nothing but a frivolous call. In his own words he acknowledges that we informed him, “She stated that I would be responsible for any repair problems not related to the original job. I agreed”, . This following part of his sentence is false. “as long as I was given an estimate of charges before Alan did any work.” We charge a service call for the trip out and back which takes over an hour of driving time. If his door problem is not related to the work originally done and he calls us out then he pays for the service call as agreed. It wasn’t related and there was no problem. It was frivolous and he thought I would come for free as I had before. That is why I said “we don’t sell insurance” meaning that his original payment for the springs doesn’t entitle him to call us out for every little noise that his 50 year old door makes. Re another door company- I seriously doubt that another door company came out or if they did, that they found anything legitimate to repair unless the customer tried to change something on the door and created a problem. My 52 years of excellent service with no legitimate unresolved complaints speaks for itself.

The original door work was to replace the springs. I satisfied my obligation by correcting the slipping drum without charge. The "work" that he called me out to do weeks later was not related to the original work we billed for. He agreed to pay for a service call if the work was not related. He admits this in his emails. He says that I called him a liar. Please re-read what I wrote. I did not call him a liar. I was trying to be generous and conciliatory by offering a partial refund even though I didn't have to since we dealt with him fairly and I don't drive a 15,000 lb service truck across town and back for free. Since Mr. [redacted] continues to slander me (read all his emails carefully) and to be ungrateful and obnoxious I have revoked my offer. I have an excellent reputation having served my customers 51 years. I've never had an unresolved complaint. I guess you just can't make everyone happy. If this remains unresolved so be it.
