Allphase Restoration and Construction, Inc Reviews (14)

Thank you for reaching out to Allphase Restoration and
Construction, and allowing us an opportunity to respond to this complaint We were initially contacted by the homeowner in
September 2011, to remove and reset a shower surround in order to allow the
homeowner’s plumber to inspect for any leaks and make any repairs that were
found
Allphase did not perform any leak repair work, however we did
remove and re install the fiberglass tub surround to allow the plumber that was hired and
contacted directly by the homeowner to complete the repairAllphase also
contracted to remove and replace wet drywall, baseboards and minor paint work
It is our understanding that the plumber found a loose shark bite
connection and made the repairAllphase then re installed the shower wall surround Allphase
agreed to put the homeowner’s plumber’s bill on our invoice so that it would be
easily presented to the insurance company, allowing one check to be cutAll
work was completed to the homeowner’s satisfaction and industry standards and
we were paid for our work
We were called back by the homeowners about months later because
there was still excessive moisture in the bathroomThe homeowners wanted
Allphase to take full responsibility for any leaks or water damage We inspected the shower surround and
determined that it was installed correctly and sealed properlyAllphase
however is not a plumbing company, so we did not inspect any plumbing
connectionsWe advised her to hire a plumber to find where the leak was coming
fromOur correspondence with the Homeowner is below:
“*** ***,
I hope you are doing
wellI was out at the house last week and checked the baseboard behind the
showerThe moisture content at the base of that wall was elevated.
I am not sure where
the moisture is coming fromI am confident it is not leaking from the shower
surround that we detached and reinstalled as it was properly sealed and I
could not find any faults with the installation
I suspect that there
is still a leak somewhere. I would suggest that you have a plumber come
out and investigate the problem. You can contact *** *** or
another plumber to come back out and inspect the plumbing.
Please let me know how
you would like to proceedThanks.”
Despite our
communication above, the homeowner insisted we take full responsibility, so we
reluctantly agreed to perform all of the work again for freeWe could not find
any leaks and advised the homeowner to allow us to bring in a licensed
certified plumber to recheck the drains, remove and reinstall the shower base
and we added a rubber liner to ensure there were no leaks coming from the base,
(which was installed by her original contractor NOT Allphase).
We
performed this work and leftThe Homeowner called again August
complaining that she has moisture in her bathroom againWe offered to perform
a free moisture inspection but advised her to seek the services of a foundation
company or engineer to determine where the excessive moisture in her bathroom was
coming fromHere is a portion of that communication:
“Good
Evening *** ***,
I am in receipt of
your recent messagePlease provide me with a time next week that someone is
available for us to come by and do a moisture checkThis one moisture check
will be free of chargeAny additional work that may be required will be billed
hourlyI do need to clarify that the warranty that was referenced in your last
communication, was only for year and it expired May 31, Well before we
were notified of any possible issues
With that said, It is
doubtful that any current water/moisture issues are a result of the work we
performedWe simply reset the shower liner and panWhich is a pretty easy
installationWe also went above and beyond the regular install and applied a
rubber liner under the panIt is highly unlikely that there are any leaks
coming from the shower stall, as it is a solid fiberglass unitAdditionally
any leak from the pan would also have to go up and over the rubber liner, which
is highly unlikelyThis leads me to believe you have some other issues not
addressed by our workIf this is the same problem that you were experiencing
before it very possible that the moisture intrusion was not caused by anything
we looked at, or addressed, and thus may still need to be located and
remedied.
Its possible that this
moisture may be caused by something else entirelyMaybe the shower door is not
being closed properly when showering or there may be a bigger problem related
to a foundation leak, it may be advisable to contact a basement foundation
company to inspect your foundation for any possible defects or issues that
could be causing this problemIt is hard to conceive that now contractors
cant properly set a simple shower stall.
We truly feel bad
about this situation you are facing having to deal with this againAs you can
appreciate, leak detection is sometimes very difficult and often requires a lot
of trial and error before a permanent solution is foundI understand the last
contractor was sued for possible defective work, but am unsure of the final
outcomeWe too were pressured into doing a lot of free work last time for a
problem I don't even believe is related to our work
Regretfully we are
therefore, very reluctant to initiate any new remodeling or repair services at
the propertyThe litigious tendencies involved and the difficulty we
experienced trying to collect for new work that was clearly not part of our
original job, will make it very difficult to do any new workI don't believe
we would be a good fit working for you again, and so we would like avoid doing
anymore work at your homeIf you would still want the free moisture inspection
just to determine if there is still a possible problem we will be glad to
oblige however that will be the extent of the work we wish to do
Again it is highly
unlikely that this can be directly linked to any defect in the work that we
performed, since it was also happening prior to our work (and after shower stall installations by
different people and different highly certified plumbing contractors), additionally we are passed the warranty
period that was mutually agreed tooThank you for your time and I will wait to
hear back from you as to whether you want the free inspection or not.
We never
heard back from the homeowner until this Revdex.com complaint was submittedTo
summarize we do not believe there are any leaks in the shower, the excessive
moisture on the bathroom walls, could be due to several unrelated issues,
including lack of ventilation, foundation issues, etcThat is why we are recommending
the homeowners contract with an engineering firm to perform a full inspection
of the property to determine where the moisture is coming from
The newest
contractor recently hired by the homeowner will be the 4th
contractor assessing this same issue I don’t
believe simply resetting the shower surround is the remedy, and unfortunately this
new contractor may end up being the 3rd contractor blamed for
excessive moisture in a bathroom that may be completely unrelated to plumbing
or any work he is requested to perform
At this
point we are at an impasse, if the home owner wants to go through Revdex.com
mediation, Allphase will gladly comply

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to meThe only problem I have is I would like to know what number is being called. The last time I talked to Bill which was a couple of months ago I told him that my home phone does not work and my cell phone was the contact phone number for me. The last time I talked to Bill and Tommy I also told them several times that I have been in contact with them that I have never gotten any voice mail from Christine and no calls from her to my cell phone ###-###-#### which is also the number I gave her. I work 6a-2:30p and I always check my voicemail. All Phase also has my work phone number which they used to call me on. I sent this letter to them back in October. There is usually someone at my home and I also told them that I am usually home after 3pm everyday. I also have children and grown children who are usually home after three and an adult daughter who lives there and doesn't go to work until after 2. So if someone attempted to come to my home, I'm sure if they came during those times someone was there and I just finished working 3rd shift for months and was home everyday. I just don't understand stating the lack of contact when I my cell phone at all times. I would just like this matter resolved due to the length of time. I was really trying not to go this route

Every story has sides, and thankfully this one is no differentAllphase was hired by Mr*** to clean and paint areas affected by smoke damage on March 29, Per Mr***'s insurance policy he is obligated to pay an initial deductible of $1,000 which he failed to pay at the
start of the job and has continued till today. Additionally after Mr***, recieved payment from the insurance company, he refused to endorse and send the check to his mortgage company for several months, in clear violation of the terms of his Service Agreement, and thus ensured Allphase was not paid any money for several more monthsAll the while demanding Allphase complete the jobIt was only after Allphase stopped work for lack of payment that Mr*** relunctantly sent the check to the mortagage company for dispursement per the different stages of workDuring this period any request for payment was irrationally considered by Mr*** to be a threat.Once the mortgage company received the funds, they sent a very minimal initial draw that did not cover the work Allphase had already performed and requested that we meet them at the property for an inspection so that they may dispurse the necessary fundsAn inspection was scheduled and Allphase contacted Mr*** to coordinate, he replied he will not be available until sometime in October, over a month laterThe inspector explained that he would have to cancel the inspection and we would need to restart the process by contacting the bank, waiting for them to assign an inspection company and then wait for that inspection company to contact Allphase for scheduling, which has may take several weeks, and impossible without the cooperation of Mr***Upon explaining this to Mr***, he replied "please stop making threats" To summarize, we entered into a contract on March 29, did most of the work and did not receive any form of payment until almost July 31, 2017, that's right, months laterUntil today Mr*** has failed to pay his deductible that was due months agoThe Service Agreement signed by Mr*** requires him to cooperate in a timely fashion with Allphase when dealing with banks, insurance companies, etcWhich Mr*** clearly failed to do.Additionally per Ohio law and our Service Agreement, Mr*** was required to cancel contract within days of receipt of the "right to cancel", which Mr*** freely admits he failed to doMr*** mistakenly believes that if he tells Allphase they are fired and to stop communicating with him that he can just pocket the insurance proceedsWe suspect that may have been the intent from the beginning and explains some of bizarre actions and accusations. Unfortunately for Mr*** the law prohibits this type of injustice, and for those reasons Allphase has decided to file a complaint for breach of Contract and damages with Franklin County CourtsWe have been through this process in the past and have great confidence in our legal system and the protection it affords against fraud. We are happy to update the Revdex.com as to the outcome

We called Mr. [redacted] directly after not hearing back and he verbally agreed to pay $1,000 to close out the issue. We are still awaiting a call back from him to pay with a credit card. We will keep you updated. Thank you again for helping us resolve this matter.

Theyre lying... I received no phone calls ever from them... check the phone call history. None of what the bill is charging us is accurate. NONE of it. They basically sucked up a small puddle of water... and left five fans and a dehumidifier in our basement and charged us $2,000... even though I called 1 day after and told them to remove it they still charged me for four days refusing to pick up their equipment. I even have a text from Tommy who did the job apologizing for not getting there two days earlier! It is a total scam!

Customer's threshold install was scheduled a few months back however customer understandably needed to reschedule due to a death in the family, we were under the impression that customer would call us when he was ready for us to install the threshold, which was the only part left on a much larger...

job. Regrettably, instead of receiving a direct call from the customer, we only found out that the customer was ready for the install via a Revdex.com complaint. Nonetheless we have contacted the customer and scheduled to the reinstall of the threshold.  We regret any misunderstanding or miscommunication.

Thank you for reaching out to Allphase Restoration and Construction, and allowing us an opportunity to resolve this issue. At Allphase we strive to always exceed our customers' expectations and are committed to continuously providing the highest level of service available to our customers. We have...

researched this complaint and have found some inconsistencies according to our records. We have made several attempts to reach the customer to complete the few repairs that were left, however were unsuccessful. Additionally, none of the repairs listed by by customer is needing to be completed have been paid for or invoiced. Additionally we have checked our company call in logs and the last record of Mrs. [redacted] contacting our company was on May 4, 2015, over 1 year ago. Here is a list of dates that we had attempted to contact Mrs [redacted] just for the carpeting alone: 12/4/2015 re carpet. AFS (Americas Floor Source):To follow up, just called[redacted]at the number noted below. Left a voice mail for her to call me back so we can pencil in a time to measure for carpet replacement. Also [redacted], she has not been in yet to select for her basement. Will keep you posted on both of these as they progress. Enjoy your weekend! Best regards, Christine O[redacted],   12/16/2015 re carpet: To follow up, just called [redacted]s again, left another voice mail. - Christine O[redacted]   2/2/2016: Okay, just called Ms Tiffany, left another voicemail. Would love to assist as needed will let you know if and when I hear from her.  - Christine O[redacted]   2/4/2016: Not a word back from Tiffany, might this still go? - Christine O[redacted]   6/9/2016: Just called [redacted] again, left another message. [redacted] stopped in almost 2 weeks ago too, she took some samples home, haven’t heard anything else. Would there be anything else on your radar we can assist with? - Christine O[redacted]   8/26/2016: I called Christine today to see if we can get this rolling again. She stated she would reach out to the customer and see what happens. Mrs [redacted] called Tommy on 8/16 & 8/22 to get the fence scheduled. He have called OUPS  to mark the lines for the post holes to complete the fence.    8/26/2016: To follow up I just called [redacted]s and left another message to schedule carpet install on behalf of Allphase Restoration. This number has worked in the past. She also does have my business card with all of our contact information that I left it with her when I measured this project this past February. - Christine O[redacted]   [redacted] There have been several attempts to get her taken care of with little to no response from the customer. We are happy to resolve this issue if the customer will contact us with a time she is available for the requested work or, if she would like to move forward with a different contractor we will not bill her for any of the work she is requesting to be performed now.

We are writing to reject the business response from Allphase sent 10/1/14. We attempted to respond on the business website however, the Revdex.com system is not allowing us to send the response via email. Thus, we are providing our response to Revdex.com directly via this email. Please assist in posting this reply to our Complaint #[redacted]. In light of a report from [redacted] that the shower was not installed properly and Allphase was the only company we hired to install/reset the shower unit two times, we desire assistance and mediation from Revdex.com to obtain a refund for costs associated with these two repairs which never resolved the water damage in the bathroom.
Dear Allphase,
We are in receipt of the response confirming Allphase's position that Allphase contractors installed the shower correctly and "to contact a basement foundation company to inspect your foundation for any possible defects or issues..." Per Allphase's recommendation, we obtained an inspection of Allphase's work as well as another assessment of the cause of the water damage.
Accordingly, please see attached letter from [redacted] regarding the cause of the water damage; as well as the email from our insurance agent [redacted] confirming Allphase contractors removed/reset the shower two times. Despite Allphase allegations several contractors have performed work on the shower unit, please be advised [redacted] claims prove Allphase was the only restoration company hired and paid over $2000 to work on the shower (as evidenced by the three claims with [redacted] October 2011-June 2012). After water damage continued to occur in 2013 and Allphase refused to assume responsibility for improper installation of the shower, we were left with no option than to file the final claim with [redacted], resulting in us having to pay an additional $4000 in repairs.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
May your day be filled with the Peace of the Holy Spirit

I just received confirmation my complaint  was received and  being processed. I am writing to provide attachments to  include with my complaint. Please review pictures taken by  [redacted] from Allphase showing water damage/mold in our  bathroom in 2011 and compare with current pictures taken by  our [redacted] Agent, [redacted] in 2014. I am  filing the complaint because, despite two repairs from  Allphase 2011-2012 costing us over $2,000 as well as an  increase in our homeowner's insurance policy, the issue was  never resolved until September 2014 by [redacted]!
[redacted] informed us that water damage was from an  improper installation of the shower and faulty sealing. This  was the work previously completed by Allphase contractors  only. We are now concerned about an additional increase in  our homeowner's policy for having to file this additional  claim. My husband and I desire any assistance you may  provide how to handle this issue.
I contacted Allphase (Mr. [redacted]) in 2013 to try to  resolve the issue and am enclosing his response below..

I am rejecting this response because:It contains multiple inaccuracies.1. Plumbing issues did not cause this remodel to take 4 time longer than quoted.  The toilet couldn't be move for structural reasons as far as desired.  Allphase contacted me directly and I told them to move it as far as they could which in total was 9 inches.  It was a 3 minute phone conversation which they immediately took action on and completed that day.  The only other plumbing issue was the shower pan that was picked out wouldn't fit because of a vent pipe.  A decision to go to a plastic shower pan was made within an hour.  Allphase ordered the replacement and had it in within a few days.  2. There was no soap dish, there are 3 shelves in the corner of the shower that Allphase took days to install because they wouldn't ask my wife (who was in the house) where she wanted them.3. It took 72 days for Tim to contact me.  Work stopped May 23rd.  I received a text message from Tim on August 3rd requesting to meet regarding final payment.  I informed Tim that wasn't necessary and to send me a bill for the work completed.  Tim emailed me the bill on August 15th.  I responded August 17th again expressing my displeasure.  Allphase never responded.  September 9th I received a letter from collections and also received a voicemail from manager Hassan.  I have not called Hassan back because once Allphase contacted collections all conversations need to be documented.  I did email him what I think is fair compensation on September 11th.  He responded later that day by attacking my character for filing my complaint and submitting my review of his company on the Revdex.com.  To say that I haven't responded is completely falseRegards,

Thank you for reaching
out to Allphase Restoration and Construction, and allowing us an opportunity to
resolve this issue. At Allphase we strive to always exceed our customers'
expectations and are committed to continuously providing the highest level of
service available to our...

customers.
We
have researched this complaint and have found that customer signed a Service
Agreement indicating no estimate was necessary. Customer may be mixing up his
deductible amount of $500 with the total cost of the project which is
considerably more than his $500 insurance deductible.
The
customer had originally told our company that we was covered by insurance
however upon submitting the claim to his insurance carrier it was denied. That
claim was not covered by insurance. If it had been then the customer would have
been correct in concluding all he would pay was $500.
Additionally
we tried contacting the customer several times to resolve the past due payment
prior to sending it to collections. Our attempts were unfortunately
unsuccessful. We only received a call back after sending the account to
collections.
Here
is a record of our attempts to reach the customer as logged in our system.
Called adjuster to get his
email address to send the invoice to. He informed me that the claim was denied.
I sent the invoice to the homeowner and adjuster anyway. The homeowner's email
bounced back. I tried calling the homeowner and reached his voicemail.

Tried to call customer picked
up and did not say anything then tried to call him back sent to me vm,he then
try to call me back when I answered he would not speak, tried to call him back
sent me to vm. Mailing out invoice to customer home address sine per Management's
previous note customer email bounced back
[redacted]08/11/2015-03:39 PM
Customer called last evening
and stated that he was told he would only be charged $500. That if he would
have know the bill would be around $2000, he would never have used us. The
authorization indicates that he signed our contract with the assumption he was
covered by his insurance (that later declined his claim). I believe he was told
that if this was a covered loss, he would only be responsible for his $500 deductible.
He did check the "no estimate" line on the authorization.
[redacted]09/02/2015-11:37 AM
Customer not responsive to
phone calls email address bounces back, customer was mailed inv to home address
no payment received. Customer was denied claim by insurance company. Today I
placed the customer in collections with APR also mailed out another invoice to
customer home address.
[redacted]09/11/2015-12:25 PM
We
understand sometimes misunderstanding occur, that is why we tried repeatedly to
contact the customer prior to sending the account collections. With that understanding,
we will agree to remove all late fees, interest and to also discount the final
bill by 10% and remove customer from collections if he can abide by the
contract terms and make his payment within the next 10 days.
Please
let us know if that is agreeable.

Thank you for the opportunity to address this complaint. It is accurate the work did take longer than originally expected due to Plumbing issues with both the shower and the toilet. These were unforeseen issues and we're not noticed until demo was complete, in addition the final week we were...

there we were still waiting for his wife to make decisions on placement of soap dishes and other add-ons for the shower. With respect to credits, the initial invoice, has already been changed. Allphase already credited the customer for any items not completed. The General manager Tim did try to contact the customer on several occasions and received no response which is why we sent to collections. Most recently our operations manager tried calling the homeowner on the phone to work things out, but was sent directly to voicemail without any callback. The homeowner then sent an email on 9/11/2017 to Allphase detailing additional requested discounts and the reasons why. Unfortunately the homeowner never took into consideration the substitute items that were used. Below is a list of estimate items that are being disputed by the homeowner, we have explained why the items are not being credited. For example:Item #11 and Item #20- Backer Board...........Backer board was sold, purchased and installed as the customer requested tile to be installed that he was providing. After backer was installed, the customer supplied us with a Luxury Vinyl Tile. At no extra charge we took up the backer board and replaced with a more expensive wood underlayment (we left the lesser priced backer board price on the estimate).Item #18- Vanity.............Allphase ordered, paid for and installed the vanity the customer picked out. The customer selected vanity was a premium grade cabinet and more expensive than the vanity quoted in the estimate, Allphase did not charge any additional money for this. Item #23- Labor minimum on carpet............. This is a standard line item for any carpeting work, that was a part of the estimate the customer reviewed and agreed to prior to signing the contract.  However, Allphase is willing to discount that amount since the carpet removal was very minimal. That reduces the bill by $200.29. We will therefore, discount the final price by that amount ($200.29), which bring the total due to $3,537.73. Please note as mentioned above, all of the items being disputed now were all on the estimate that was reviewed, accepted and signed off on by the homeowner. We believe this is a fair compromise and addresses any issues with the estimate.

Thank you for reaching out to Allphase Restoration and Construction, and allowing us an opportunity to resolve this issue. At Allphase we strive to always exceed our customers' expectations and are committed to continuously providing the highest level of service available to our...

customers.  It seems we have failed to accomplish that level of service with this particular job. A trusted and historically reliable subcontractor did not show up for the work as scheduled and the communication was not adequate. Thus we have refunded the deposit to the client and closed out the contract.  We complete thousands of jobs per year and although the vast majority are completed to the clients satisfaction, we will not always be perfect, but will do whatever it takes to correct any errors and resolve any issues that may arise. Our apologies again for falling short of our clients and our own expectations on this occasion.
