Allrite Home & Remodeling Reviews (11)

I wanted to let people know what a wonderful experience we had with Allrite on our new roof. From the quoting to the completion, we had nothing but a positive experience. [redacted] was a great salesman, explaining the process thoroughly to us, and he was on the money. There was no hard sell or scare tactics used, as we had with other companies, just clear information given with which to make our decision. The work crew was excellent and they completed everything in just a couple of days and the clean up was wonderful. We had one little thing they had to come back and take care of and they did it in just a couple of days from the roof being finished. Would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. Thank you Allrite and [redacted] for the fantastic job.

I was pleased to receive a fair quote from All Rite Remodeling/ S&E Insulation. The Design Consultant I worked with was even able to squeeze me in during the very busy season, which I appreciated. However, the day the crew arrived, I was not as pleased. The crew arrived an hour and a half later than stated, and since this was a rental property, my property manager had to leave and come back during that time. Then, instead of removing the siding from one side of the home to blow insulation into the walls, they put 14 holes in my walls. I'm not even super upset about that, but what I was upset with was that they did a very poor job of patching the holes. They did not put enough compound in the holes to make it flush with the wall, so before I could paint over the 14 holes, I had to hire a painter to come in, put a coat of quick set to make the large baseball size holes in my walls flush with the walls, and then sand it down and paint it. When I let the Design Consultant know that I was disappointed with the patch work (and provided him with photos of the poor work), he responded without apology that sometimes the compound shrinks in the humidity (yet the house has central air) and they were not responsible for it; I was responsible for all "finishing and paint" work. The holes they left were not what I would consider "finishing work" and this was not the answer I expected from a well-rated Revdex.com company. Not only did they put 14 holes in my walls which they did not tell me about until my tenants called, they left a dusty mess inside the home, and I had to scramble to find (and pay) a third party to patch the awful patch job before my tenants could move their furniture back against the walls and clean up the room. This was not the experience I was expecting, so be aware that you may also have to learn how to skim coat drywall if you hire this company as part of the "finishing" work you'd be responsible for.

I AM A 68 YEAR OLD LADY LIVING IN MY OWN HOME IN WEST BEND,WI. FOR SEVERAL YEARS I KNEW I NEEDED WINDOWS REPLACED AND INSULATION WORK DONE. LAST SUMMER INTO FALL I FOUND [redacted]. AND ALLRITE HOME AND REMODELING INC. DON'T WAIT AS I DID LATE IN THE SEASON BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! I HAD A MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH NEW WINDOWS,A DOOR,BASEMENT,ATTIC INSULATION ETC. JORDAN M[redacted] FROM ALLRITE HOME AND REMODELING OVERSAW ALL THE PLANS. HE WAS GREAT AND SO WERE CREW AND CLEAN UP EXCELLENT! THEY EXPLAINED THINGS COMPLETELY AND PROFESSIONALLY WONDERFULL GUYS.THEY ARE LOCATED [redacted]. SO HAPPY I FOUND THEM. [redacted]

We recently finished our basement and came to Randy and Jordan, at Allrite Home & Remodeling and S&E Insulation, for an effective way to keep our soon to be finished basement warm and also help deaden the noise from the sound system in the basement and noise from upstairs coming downstairs. They had a great insulation solution, and now we have peace and quiet, and warmth, in our new basement. Their staff and installers were extremely courteous and polite. They even handled all of our special challenges in our basement. I would definitely recommend them for future jobs. They also had their gutter crew come out and completely replace our gutters and relocate some down spouts. Different crew, but same result. Fast, clean courteous and professional. From planning to execution, Allrite and S&E Insulation made us happy customers, for both projects and I would highly recommend them.

Pleasure to work with, very professional and courteous. Consistently kept me informed of scheduling, work performed and estimated time of completion. Very responsive to my request. Work performed was top notch.

I hired Allrite to do both my roof and siding. I dealt with, but was not thrilled with, th two months they took between the completion of the roof and the start of the siding work, even though it meant having a dumpster in my yard all summer. The job was fine, although there is a sag right above the garage door.

I called them this weekend because I found that the furnace exhaust trap on the outside of the house was not connected. When I talked to [redacted] he seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and claimed his crew would not have had anything to do with this (if this was true, how would they have put up the siding). He did offer to send out a furnace guy, no thanks I have a furnace guy I trust. I can't help but wonder if a man had called, rather than a single woman, if [redacted] would have been more willing to rectify this situation

I was very pleased at the start as the man, Steven [redacted] that came and did the estimate was very professional and the estimate was fair. From the point that we approved the bid and the work commenced I had nothing but a bad experience. I called them repeatedly and asked when the work would start and was told that they lost one of their guys so it delayed the work. I understand that as I am in business too. I was patient. It has taken almost 2 months to do a gutter repair and wrap some board. I talked to them and they said on at least 2 different occasions that the work would be done by the end of the week. It didn't happen. I told them over a week ago that the work needed to be completed by the end of the month. I was told that the weather wasn't good, they were behind schedule, etc. Too many excuses. I finally told them that the work had to be completed by November 30th. It is November 30th and they finally showed up 5 minutes ago to start the job that should have been done over a month ago. We have had an unbelievably mild October and November so the weather is definitely not an excuse that is going to fly. I gave the benefit of the doubt but I definitely would not use this company again.

Proud to know that a business exist like this, I wish I could hire you all for everything I may need.

Review: I had 23 replacement windows put in my home. They were installed terribly and I had to keep on going back and forth to get it right. It literally took 3 years. They already had to replace one window because the cold gets inside and ruins the wood, because the material and windows are so cheap. I really got ripped off on the price vs quality of these windows. Even though I discussed my dislike of the product and installation, I still paid them in full. Then a few months later in January of 2016 I had a inch of solid ice on the inside of my windows and the wood got ruined again on 4 or 5 windows. When I called they directed me to contact there supplier directly. They came saw my pictures, looked at the windows and said they would order new sashes and I would be contacted after they come in. First of all replacing the sashes is only going to fix the problems temporarily. This will continue to be an issue because they sold me cheap windows and honestly I want my old ones back. So now I wait and I will never be contacted unless I contact them, which at this point I will not do without recording this compliant. This business has poor customer service. They only contact you when you are willing to buy or are making a payment. They should concern themselves with the product they sell and the installation they do. Its in there name and there terrible at it.Desired Settlement: Currently to fix the issue they promised, however it will never be fixed without replacing all the windows.

Response:

Windows were purchased by Mrs. [redacted] in July 2013 for 23 windows total (22 in the home and 1 in the garage). Mrs. [redacted] wanted to have real wood windows, but be maintenance free on the exterior. After several quotes from other companies, Mrs. [redacted] decided to go with us for her windows using the Sherwood brand which is a vinyl window with real wood cladding on the inside. However, due to budget reasons, Mrs. [redacted] decided to only want to do half the windows in 2013 and the other half 2014. Since the windows were real wood inside the staining from two different years would not match 100% and we had a special from the manufacturer for free finishing on the inside. It was discussed to write up the contract as a whole for all windows. The customer would pay 1/3 deposit on the first set of windows, and the material only for the second set. We would then install the second set in 2014, this way the stain will match all windows perfectly. The first install went according to plan and the customer paid the remaining 2/3 balance of the first install. In 2014 however, Mrs. [redacted] decided to split the remaining project into two more installs for a total of three installs. Despite not being in our contract, we went ahead to help the customer and install the second round of windows. (This install we had two window installers). This time there was an issue with the trim around some of the windows not matching the trim on the front of the house. We informed Mrs. [redacted] we would remove and reinstall it to match. Also, a shelf fell off the wall later that night during a storm and broke some of her son’s trophies, which she felt our installers caused. We did offer her a discount on the project to help with the inconvenience. We then were trying to plan the final install for Mrs. [redacted] in the fall of 2014, however she wanted to push the install until after the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) which we understood. During the time between the second install and third install Mrs. [redacted] called about one of her windows having the stain coming off. I went to the home to look at the issue and It appeared to be a film/ waxy nature on a small area that was not noticed before by either of our installers nor Mrs. [redacted]. I contacted my supplier representative and manufacturers’ representative, who set a time with the customer to meet on site to look at the window. They did note that the stain was not coming off, however, there was a waxy film (no idea from where) in a small area. The manufacturer representative decided to replace the piece of wood cladding. It would take some time to have a piece made up, prefinished, and sent to us. Once the item came in, an appointment was made with the customer and the piece was replaced. In January of 2015 the weather did not cooperate between the cold and snow, once again the customer wanted to hold off. Finally, in the Spring of 2015 we finished the install of the remaining windows. At the end of January 2016, Mrs. [redacted] called in with some issues of icing on her windows, she felt was caused by improper install of the windows which was allowing cold air to get into the area and freeze. She only noticed this when she lifted her cellular blinds that help keep heat in the home. When I spoke with Mrs. [redacted], I did inform her that with new energy efficient windows, if you have too much moisture in the home and do not open your blinds, this will cause condensation that can freeze on the windows since the window glass is colder than the house air. I contacted my supplier representative, who was also the one who went out earlier to see the issue with the other window stain. He asked the customer for photos before he went out. When my supplier representative went out in early February 2016 (took a little longer to try to get the manufacturer representatives schedule and the customers schedule to line up) he did also confirm that is was due to the house having too much moisture in it. It was noted that because of the ice, it did start to damage the interior stain of the window. My supplier representative did give Mrs. [redacted] a flyer that was published by one of the window manufacturers about moisture and was instructed to also lift her blinds a little to allow her inside air flow to get behind them more easily. Even though this is not a manufacturer’s warranty issue, I did go to bat for my customer along with my supplier representative and is having new sashes made to replace the damaged ones. The customer was instructed it would take about 6-8 weeks to get in. I did check with my supplier and the new sashes are due on the week of April 18th. Once they arrive, Mrs. [redacted] will be contacted to set a time for them to be swapped out. Our reputation has always been focused on customer service and apologize if Mrs. [redacted] doesn’t feel the same, but we have done everything possible to satisfy her.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First of all, all the facts described are not true. [redacted] said I could do windows in 2 or 3 years and was did not realize the contact was written differently. Also the same installer installed the 1st and 2nd set of windows. He trimmed the 2nd set wrong and did not fix the trim of the windows that went from 2 windows to 1. So Allrite hired a different installer to do repairs. since it was winter Allrite not me stated they will fix in spring. In the mean time I had frost issues on one dinette window that ruined the trim. Also the shelf did not fall because of a storm. The pounding of the install of the bedroom window loosened the screws on the shelf. Also from the 1st set of windows, there was one issue that a weep hole cover was not in the window. When they finally brought some when I was having second install issues they were the wrong kind. it took 3 years to correct that problem. Also when they corrected the inside trim for the large windows, they put the incorrect trim on it, only stained it once, no varnish and it is crooket. Allrite was rushing to get me to install the 3rd set, but with all the 2nd set issued not being completed I was hesitent. I agreed to get the 2nd set of issues and last install done. When the 3rd set was done, again the trim was done incorrectly and they had to go back. Then in January it was very cold and I had ice in the windows and about 5 windows had the wood varnish come off. I was told to work with supplier and they came out and its been 2 months and I never got a call saying when they would be in. I currently do not have the pictures on my computer, but will try to send to Allrite or Revdex.com when I have a chance. My problem is I believe this will be a re-accuring problem. So I'm not sure why they think this is ok.

Regards,

Business

Response:

In response to [redacted]The manufacturer took care of warranted items on customer’s home. The customer was once again informed by the window manufacturer that she has high humidity issues in her home which is causing the window condensation. She was told how to minimize the condensation in her home.

Our experience with Allrite Home & Remodeling was very positive. We had a thorough discussion about our needs with Jordan who helped us understand exactly what steps to take to make it happen. He was available to answer all our questions and made sure that we were comfortable with the plan. It is nice working with this family oriented business. Their whole team is excellent to work with. They are knowledgeable about what it takes to meet your needs and expectations. We are continuing to work with them on more projects and will refer them to friends in the future.

Quality work done at a very good price. I have had multiple projects done by this company and have a great deal trust in them. They are honest and the quote you get is the price you will pay.
